Name: Nicole, Raine, Rainy, or whatever other form of Nicole Raine you would like to call me.
Favorite Genre: I write basically anything, from fantasy to sci-fi to dystopian or historical fiction. The only thing I don't generally write is romance, which I personally think is something I stink at.
Hobbies and Interests: I love to read and write (no, derh...), play volleyball and guitar, and listen to music. I love animals and anything that has to do with them, and will add reading and writing again because they take up the tiny space of my life left by a miniscule vacancy of school.
Favorites: Color: blue; Animal: wolf; Book: WAY too many; Season: spring; Song: again, too many, and they change frequently; Quote: "The steeper the mountain, the harder the climb, the better the view from the finishing line" followed closely by "It is thanks to my evening readings alone that I am still more or less sane." Both describe my life pretty accurately.
Other: I am truly passionate about improving in this craft, and would really appreciate and reads or comments you would throw my way. Also, feel free to PM me for advice, with encouragement, or just to chat. I won't bite, I promise!

Name: The Tigress. You can call me Tigress.
Favorite Genre: Post-apocalyptic (commonly referred to as dystopian), Fantasy, Adventure/Action and just a little bit of Romance. I don't like stories that are JUST about romance, but I do like it sprinkled into the plot. I like some scifi but mostly when it's interlaced with dystopian and romance.
Hobbies and Interests: Writing- it helps me navigate through the swamp of emotions known as life, Graphic Design- It's my profession and something that I've always enjoyed doing as an artist, Music- I love listening to, playing, and writing music. I never share the music that I write with others though- it's more like my private diary XD, Construction- In a way it's really another form of art, Drawing/Sketching- Did I mention I like art?, Dancing- Yet another beautiful form of art that I find particularly exciting and romantic, and... well I could continue but this list is getting quite long. In short, I do a lot of things.
Favorites: Color: Depends on my mood. It usually varies between black, white, red, a very particular shade of yellow, and gray, and SOMETIMES a very specific shade of pink; Animal: It's a tie between wolves, gorillas, and ravens; Book: I read a lot of books but I don't really have a favorite. If it's dystopian or fantasy then you can be sure I'll most likely love it. My favorite author is Edgar Allen Poe; Season: Summer; Song: Again, depends on my mood. A couple examples of songs I love include: Stockholm Syndrome by Muse, I Don't Love You by My Chemical Romance, and Lost In Paradise by Evanescence; Quote: "Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things which escape those who dream only by night." And also "Science has not yet taught us if madness is or is not the sublimity of the intelligence." - Both quotes by Edgar Allen Poe
Other: I don't bite... normally. XD I like to give honest reviews to people and would really appreciate honest reviews on my own work. Writing is pretty much the only thing that keeps me sane and it means so much to me to be able to come to places like this. I always look for ways to improve. Don't be afraid to approach me and ask for my help with anything. :)
ReplyThe Tigress | November 16, 2014
Nice to meet you, Tigress! I actually have the same views when it comes to comments and reviews, and it's very cool that you love so many branches of art. I actually have a friend who is a ballet dancer... And I also like Edgar Allan Poe; I actually haven't read as much of his work as I would like, but it is on my list! And fantasy and dystopian/utopian works are wonderful things, are they not?

Name: Mindy, as I prefer being called by my first name.
Favorite Genre: I guess I've been a fan of fantasy books for a long time. But lately, I've been trying to put God first in everything I do, and that includes writing. I'm not sure if I have a specific genre that I like, but fantasy is one genre I most certainly know about all too well.
Hobbies and Interest: Color: Blue, doesn't matter the shade; Animal: lions and horses; hobby: writing and reading, of course; Quote: not sure I have one.
Other: I'm not new to being a published author, but then my first book was when I was in freshman year of high school and it didn't become successful. Still, I've improved since then and am hoping to publish another book, just in the self-publishing area. Hopefully, with some help and guidance, I'll be able to get over my stepping stones and publish the book I've just started a few days ago. I'm not that far into it. Only 11 or 12 pages into it.
ReplyMindy Brown | November 18, 2014
Hi, Mindy!
Fantasy is such a broad and wonderful genre. I probably know more about it than I should, as well.
That is an admirable thing to do with your faith. It's harder than it seems it should be sometimes, in my experience, so kudos! May I ask if you are a Christian?
It's very neat that you are already published; what is the name of the book? I hope we can help with your current project!
ReplyNicole Raine | November 18, 2014
Hello Nicole.
Yes, I'm a Christian. Lately, it's been hard to find a church. I guess I'll stick with reading the bible and hope for the best. Maybe that's not a bad thing.
I don't know which book you're referring to. My first book is called The Battles: The Oracle, and from the way it's written there's clearly room for improvement. It's a beginner's book.
My new book is called The Christmas Bear Adventures: The Door to Spring Valley. The inspiration came due to a Christmas bear I bought at a craft show. It's about this girl named Molly Brennan whose mother bought her the Christmas bear. The Christmas bear comes to life and with him brings to life the toys in Molly's bedroom. I like how unique the characters are so far and their different personalities are relatable. My goal is to get this first book done in 3 to 6 months, so I still have a lot of work to do. I'm now on the third chapter, and about 17 to 19 pages into the book.
I hope you all can help me with it. If I ever get stuck and need ideas, I'll come to you.
ReplyMindy Brown | November 20, 2014
Definitely! I'd love to help, and I'm sure the same goes for everyone else here.
Both books sound very interesting; do you plan to make series of them?
We had a difficult time finding a church home as well. But the Bible is the most important thing, so I think that we'd all be okay, really, if we stuck with that. God has a way of making things work.
ReplyNicole Raine | November 20, 2014
Thanks. I'd appreciate the help.
Since The Battles: The Oracle was my first book I'd ever written, I haven't gone back to it. I guess I don't really care for it anymore. The plot wasn't that great. It was going to be a series, but I'm not going back to it, as I've already said.
As for The Christmas Bear Adventures, that I'm turning into a series. The preview short stories in Mini Adventures of Molly's Toy Collection, those are to help me figure out the characters. That's all I'd really use that for. So yeah.
Yeah, I know. I also know everyone says the bible is hard to read, obviously because it was done by God, even though others wrote it it's in God's words. Since figuring out a trick, the bible has become better to read. I understand it now, and its becoming clearer to read everyday.
ReplyMindy Brown | November 21, 2014
I have one of those, but I've already written most of a sequel that I like a bit more, so I'm determined to finish it as a trilogy now. Book one is unedited and obviously unpublished, and I reread a bit of it recently. I think my heart may have died.
That's neat, actually! Good idea. I've really not thought of just using short stories to develop characters. That's a really fun method...
Yes, sometimes it can be hard. It takes quite a while to read through even a small section, but I love that every time you read a verse, it'll have a different meaning and application to your life.
ReplyNicole Raine | November 22, 2014
Hi. I've been trying to put my faith in God in my writing as well. My current story (Sunstone Valley) is kind of set up for elements of putting God first and helping the less fortunate (also has some supernatural elements in there). It's actually really encouraging to see other writers say the same thing. :D

Pen Name: Amber Zephyr "A.Z." Galloway
Real Name: Lida Hailey Haut
Favorite Genre: I commonly write fantasy and fan-fiction stories whose genres range from adventure to science fiction. Oh, how much I admire the sci-fi genre! The Guardians of Ga'Hoole series and my own Cube fan-fiction, Blake and Melody's Escape, are among my favorite fiction stories.
Hobbies and Interests: I'm a freshman percussionist of the Brick Township High School Marching Dragons, an aspiring actress, and I love to watch science fiction and fantasy movies. I'm also a seasoned gamer, with Pokémon being my primary game.
Favorites: Color: Purple. Animal: Between the Spix's Macaw, the gray wolf, and the house cat. Books: My own Amber and Celebi's Adventure Through Time, the previously mentioned Cube fanfiction, which I also wrote, and Guardians of Ga'Hoole: The Burning by Kathryn Lasky. Season: Winter Songs: Silver Bells by Martina McBride and Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson Quote: I really don't have a favorite quote...
Other: I'm actually focusing on finishing Blake and Melody's Escape before continuing to work on Amber and Celebi's Adventure Through Time. Between school and marching band, I have a tough schedule. I also have an account on Fanfiction.com, and that's where Blake and Melody's Escape is.
ReplyZephyr Murphy | November 27, 2014
Hi, A.Z!
I love Kathryn Lasky! I read both of her series a few years ago, and loved both.
You have really good taste in genre, haha. I love those two. They are probably the bulk of what I write and read.
Also, those are some pretty awesome animals. I just had to go and look up the Spix's Macaw after reading that...beautiful bird!
Is your name the same on FanFiction as it is here? I'm also on there, though I haven't posted anything...
Nice to meet you!
ReplyNicole Raine | November 28, 2014
Hiya, Nicole!
Yes, my pen name is the same on Fanfiction.com, as well as FictionPress.com. And I might update Blake and Melody's Escape next month, hopefully by Christmas. And the Guardians of Ga'Hoole series and it's film adaptation alone is what inspired me to write fantasy stories.
Nice to meet you, too!

Name: Alexander or Alex. Its a good first name, if you ask me.
Favorite Genre: To write? Action. I love writing action stories full of lasers, punches, and good vs evil clashes. To read? Romance. Despite being the most manliest man ever, I love reading romance stories. I am trying to experiment with reading and writing other genres nowadays.
Hobbies and Interests: I wouldn't be here if I didn't enjoy a bit of reading and writing. Other than that, I enjoy videogames, movies (I want to get into the movie business), and listening to all sorts of music.
Favorites: Color: Red. Animal: It varies. Superhero: Superman. He also supplies some of my favorite quotes. "You will give the people of Earth an ideal to strive towards. They will race behind you, they will stumble, they will fall. But in time, they will join you in the sun. In time, you will help them accomplish wonders."
Other: I am trying to put together a superhero universe with some other writers on another site. I was planning on posting some of my work here too, but if anyone wants to talk to me about having a superhero of their own creation join the Super-Verse, contact me. I'm always accepting other heroes.
ReplyAlex Truong | January 6, 2015
Hi, Alex!
Haha, both are fun genres. I don't generally get into books that center around romance (*cough* The Fault in Our Stars), but I won't let romance stop me from reading a book if it has a good plotline.
What do you want to do with movies (like filming, directing, screenwriting...)? Neat profession. And music is absolutely wonderful, haha.
Neat, too. Thanks for letting us know! You could post it on another topic, if you like, to get people's attention. Your comment is kind of hidden here, haha.
Which brings me to my last point... SORRY for the late reply! I've been uber-busy, and I haven't checked through the many pages in here for a while. I didn't mean to reject you or anything, haha, just didn't see the post.
Nice to meet you, and talk soon!

Name: Ryan
Favorite Genre: Science Fiction, Supernatural, Fantasy, Mystery, Horror, so a little bit of everything in the Sci-Fi realm. My stories range from lighthearted tales with happy endings to the darker, creepier stuff.
Hobbies and Interests: Writing and researching new topics and story ideas, I love changing things up, stepping out of my comfort zone in order to keep things fresh, and being as versatile as I can be. I'm an attorney so I enjoy incorporating aspects of the law into my stories when I can. Aside from writing I also am a diehard Detroit sports fan, and enjoy movies, dogs, and traveling.
Favorites:
Color: Green Animal: Schnauzer Book: TBD Season: Summer, although Autumn is a close 2nd Song: "What I am" by Edie Brickell and the New Bohemians, and "Ten Years Gone" by Led Zeppelin Quote: “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” (Paraphrasing)
Other: Interestingly enough, I did not write much back in high school. Studying business and the law can get a little dry and drab at times, and as a result it fostered a rebirth of my creative side. Writing has become my favorite hobby, and I would just like to share it with the world, regardless of whether people love it or hate it. Just as Nicole wrote, I would love to get to know the fellow writers on here. I posted a story on another site and was invited over here, so I'm new. Feel free to send me a personal message or leave a comment, I love chatting with people!

Name: My name is Kathryn but you can call me K.D.
Favorite Genre: I like to write adventure/actions/ sci-fi or fantasy stuff. I know I'm not the greatest at it but it is what I love. MY other passion would have to be mystery, but i haven't known how to start one of those yet.
Hobbies and Interests: I love to right, listen to music, read and figure out good story ideas. I love reading sci-fi, action and adventure stuff.
Favorites: I love the color blue, well its more of a silvery blue. Country music is my favorite but I can't really write to it. I write best to stuff like Breaking Benjamin, Metallica, Nickelback, etc.
Other: I am interested in advancing my writing skill and becoming a better writer. I have many stories I write but none I have actually finished yet. I have at least three that are at least 50 pages and a new one that is 8 pages and counting.
ReplyKathryn Carmicahel | November 16, 2014
That's why we're here, though, right? We all need to improve in some way; I'm sure your writing is better than you think! And yes, plots are so, so much fun to play with...screwing up a character's life with one thought. Haha, just kidding. I also love country music, and share your misfortune. It is quite hard to focus with. Metallica was a large piece of my childhood, actually...my dad loves them.
Even if they aren't finished, it's impressive that you have 50 pages each on those books! I also have many, many unfinished projects, and I'm sure we aren't alone in that.
Nice to meet you, K.D!

Name: Natalie is fine ^-^
Favorite Genre: I like historical fiction mainly. Westerns, and psychological as well.
Hobbies and Interests: Reading/Writing, singing (the shower is my stage), jogging, learning about history
Favorites: Well.. lets see. There's a ton of things I really like. I'm obsessed with essential oils at the moment. My favorite color is blue, and my favorite novel...please don't make me choose ;__;
Other: I love history, I'm actually studying it in college right now. So I'm pretty swamped with school work, and life in general. I love reading when I have time to myself though. I'm an extrovert, and love meeting new people ^-^
ReplyNatalie S. Batey | November 22, 2014
Hi, Natalie!
I have a friend who writes a LOT of historical fiction, though I don't do much of it myself. Honestly, I'm terrified that I'd butcher the era.
Go blue! And reading and writing! Haha, no one can choose a favorite novel.
Nice to meet you!
ReplyNicole Raine | November 22, 2014
Does said friend post any of their stories? If so I'd love to read it! ^-^
I think you should try writing it at some point, who knows you might be really good. I know I love historical fiction but I feel the same as you. I'd definitely butcher it.
ReplyNatalie S. Batey | November 22, 2014
She is actually on here, as Alexandra Jacobs, though she hasn't posted anything yet. She has several stories on Wattpad, under the current name of AlexQueenintheRiver, if you want to check her out. :) I know she'd appreciate it...
I actually wrote a short, medieval piece a while ago, but am hesitant to post it. It is unedited and, again, I'm certain I ruined the Middle Ages. I wrote somewhere around twenty SHORT chapters before losing steam...Then Alex quit FictionPress, so it's been harder to get her to play with it.
I'm sure you do well with it! If you love history, you probably won't ruin it ;). I have never had any special love for history, which is unfortunate when trying to write about it, haha.
ReplyNicole Raine | November 23, 2014
I'll definitely check out your friends story. ^-^ I've been looking for new ones to read.

Favorites: Color: Red or Pink Book: Nancy Drews/Hardy Boys; Season: Winter; Song: Uh... not sure. Depends on the day; Quote: I tried being normal once but it was boring so i went back to being me.

Hello! Looks like I'm the newbie here (to this group and this website!) So I'll go ahead and introduce myself to anyone who cares ^_^
Name: Katrina
Favorite Genre: I mostly write fantasy, sci-fi, apocalyptic, and surrealism/experimental, but I enjoy reading fantasy and apocalyptic the most.
Hobbies and Interests: Well, besides reading and writing, I am an avid horse back rider and have been my whole life. I have a 1500 lb Percheron named Moose and he's just the best! We trail ride often, but I also do mounted shooting and mounted archery, mainly for fun, by have been considering competitions. I have a .357 single action ruger that I shoot with (for those who have any clue what I'm talking about) and really old youth bow that I know nothing about as it was my grand father's. I plan on upgrading that soon! I also snowboard and scuba dive and drive motorcylces around whenever I can (don't have my own, yet... but hope to get a suzuki!) And I want to try skijoring, too! (where a horse and rider pull a skier or boarder). I also love hiking and camping. I guess it sounds like I'm pretty active... but I like being super lazy, too xD
I also love video games. Specifically The Legend of Zelda. Pokemon. Assassin's Creed. The Sims.
And I quite enjoy tattoos. I have two (so far.)
Favorites: uhh, this could go anywhere. I like the color pink, I love Hershey's chocolate, Moscatto wine is the best (ooh and sangria!) Horses, of course! Summer is the best season because I'm always ALWAYS cold, and it's lame haha. My favorite cat is my cat, Jessie. Don't really have a favorite for music. I like a variety, usually country, rock, pop, and alternative.
Other: Hmm. Don't know what else I could add. I have a BFA in Creative Writing and I'm working towards my MFA in Writing with a concentration in Fiction. I've literally been a writer my whole life, always writing poems and stories, for as long as I can remember. I've gone through many ideas of my future career, from being an author to a journalist to a screen writer. However, I think I've settled with being a college professor (teaching writing) while writing on the side (in hopes of getting somewhere as an author). I'm passionate about writing and passionate about teaching and encouraging writing tot hose who wish to pursue it. I'm sure some of you may have been told at some point that being a writer was not a good path to choose. I've heard that more times than I could imagine, and for a while, I believed it and thought of pursuing something else. I'm glad I didn't, and it's all thanks to the professors and students I attended college with. I want to be able to encourage and support my students in a way they probably have never been supported before.
I've been published in a variety of literary magazines and had my first novella published October 1, 2014. It's a fantasy called Calliope and is available on Amazon for $2.99 as an eBook! (Shameless self promoting but I promise that's it.)
I'm also on FictionPress, FanFiction, Tablo, Twitter, and Facebook.
I truly look forward to chatting with everyone here and helping in any way I can, as often I can (You know, when I'm not working a 40-50 hour week, at the barn, or writing..) :)

I got him August 2013 (so, almost a year and a half ago). He's my first horse (I'm 23!) When I graduated college and started working full time, I said that's it, I'm getting my horse! I was fortunate enough to be able to have riding lessons at least, but that was the best my parents could do for me. But, it's okay, because I have the best guy in my life now :) (and I'm only a little broke because of it... lol. Totally worth it!) I have a huge soft spot for draft horses <3 If you lived in the area, I'd totally let you ride him haha :)

Name: Molly
Favorite Genre: I mostly write Fantasy/YA, but I like what I write to have allegorical roots in real life. In reading I like most YA and YA-style books, but particularly those which use fictional devices to give critiques about social or political issues without being overt in doing so (I'm looking at you, Animal Farm. I love ya but daaaamn). I love most books, but those are my favorites.
Hobbies and Interests: I'm one of those people with more hobbies than there are hours in the day. I love to read and write, obviously, but I also love to draw and paint (I draw graphite mostly, but I'm learning to draw digitally, and I paint with oils). I'm a ballroom dancer and a lover of Flow Arts. I play Clarinet, Piano, Tenor and Alto Saxophone, and Guitar. I'm learning Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and 16th Century Italian fencing right now, and soon I'll be learning 14th century period archery. I'm becoming more involved in a large local medieval society and having WAAY too much fun putting together a persona.I'm currently studying International Studies in university, with a focus on the Middle East and Culture, Arts, and Development (it used to be Conflict Resolution but that was waaaay too much stress and anxiety-inducing materiel. However, I took a lot of classes in that category and I've learned much). I speak English, passable Spanish, and I'm currently learning Arabic. With any luck, I'll be studying it abroad in a few years.
I hope to travel a TON in the future. Like, I don't really ever want to stay in the same place for longer than a year or two. Nomadic lifestyle for the win!
Favorites: Color: Purple Band: Tons and tons of them, but I'm really liking certain songs by Rise Against right now Book: I have a shelf of favorites but I love the Hunger Games, TFiOS, and anything by Scott Westerfeld. Also Frankenstein and Les MiserablesOther: I love meeting new people and anyone's free to PM me anytime, even just to say hi. Especially just to say hi. Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Hi, Molly!
Cool choice of genre! I love those as well.
Oh, hobbies. YES. Wayy too many. Medieval society? That's really cool! That may be the coolest list of hobbies I've ever seen... XD.
Hunger Games is good, as is Scott Westerfeld. I read the Uglies series, and really liked it.

Hi there, I'm Prenn and I just joined today ^^
I'm very girly, into anime, but I don't like alot of mainstream things. I'm extremely picky what I watch or read. With me, most things are hit or miss. I'm also a Christian and I'm very sociable.
I draw anime and have accounts on other sites for my drawings as well as for writing. Speaking of writing, I have written 20 novels and more than 20 novellas. I mainly write supernatural/action/suspense/adventure/paranormal. I like to write about weird intriguing things like characters with powers, but I have a few stories just about regular humans. I also write songs and love to sing them.
I did some sports and theater in high school as well as student council/class council. I'm currently in my first year of college, and getting close to my ninteenth birthday XD

Books (to name a few): The Great Gatsby, The Fifth Mountain, Oliver Twist, Children of the Vampire, Three Day Road, The Guns of Normandy, and Moby Dick. Hey, I know you! Hiya!
Neat bio! I actually have a friend who loves history (and writes). And I wish I could get into drawing, but alas, my horse will end up looking like a whale, haha. I enjoy looking at it, though, and I enjoy reading and writing--a lot.
Hope to talk soon, and nice to see you again!

Name: Ryan
Favorite Genre: Science Fiction, Supernatural, Fantasy, Mystery, Horror, so a little bit of everything in the Sci-Fi realm. My stories range from lighthearted tales with happy endings to the darker, creepier stuff. My biggest influences are the Twilight Zone, Are You Afraid of the Dark? and Goosebumps
ReplyRyan Funk | February 20, 2015
Hi, Ryan!
Cool genres and books–I love sci-fi as well.
That's brave, but neat! I like making things different, too. I feel like if the story I'm writing is too stereotypical or unoriginal it's not going to turn out very well. Incorporating the law–do you generally write modern-day, then? Also, dogs are amazing, haha.
I think that if you love writing, it's going to show in your work, and people will respond to that.
Welcome to SparkATale and the TDU, and nice to meet you!

Why I'm here: I have started writing a 3 book series (just finished the 1st book, now on book 2) and was wanting...no NEEDING..some kind of reviews, reactions, and what not. So here I am :)

Haha, nice genres. I don't generally read those straight, but mixed with some fantasy or sci-fi, I'll dive into them. And like you said, if a friend throws it my way or it just sounds interesting, chances are I'll read anything.

I was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome at age 3 1/2 years and after finding this out at 13. Had vowed to forge a path for people with what I have. Hopefully destroy the stereotype that burdens such people.
Currently, Asperger's Syndrome is a part of the Autism Spectrum. It's hard to tell if it is distinct from high-functioning autism. And the exact cause is unknown. Although not required for diagnosis, there is many cases of in which atypical (peculiar or odd) use of language is present.

Name Crystal Cali (You can just call me Cali)
Favorite Genre Fantasy, Action, Adventure, Dystopian. Sometimes I'll go for a romance story, if it's not too adult-rated.
Other Favorites Anime, Manga, and all things Japanese. I also like visual novel games (I do play-throughs of them on YouTube with my best friend). I'm trying to teach myself how to program so I can make my own game, though I still need the art for it as well. I draw too, mostly anime style. I like to paint (acrylic paint being my preferred media.)
I would love to get reviews and suggestions on my current stories (so far I have one, called Sunstone Valley). I like hearing ideas other people get from my writing, and sometimes they inspire me to add or tweak an element in my story.

Other Favorites: I will read pretty much anything if it appeals to me.
I love to write, read, and practice my drawing. I love to hang out with my friends and talk with them constantly. I have seen/read a lot of different animes and manga's. One of my best friends has gotten the rest of us into Markiplier so I try to watch them when I can. I can't really spell even though I'm in honors English. I am hoping to get my books published so I try to post them on all sorts of fanfiction websites. I hope this isn't too much and that no one hates me...

I'm Eve (the reason why I use my full name 'Evelyn' when online is a boring and unnecessary story), a 31-year-old kiwi (New Zealander) of blood type Coffee+.
I enjoy reading dystopian science-fiction, paranormal/supernatural fiction (with particular interest in representations of angelology and demonology—no interest in vampires or werewolves), stories featuring psychology and neuroscience, psychological thrillers, and thrillers with biohazards and nanotechnology.
When I'm not reading or writing (or intending to, anyway), or doing damage control in the wake of my entropic preschoolers, I occupy myself with graphic design, and stuffing my brain with MOOC goodies from FutureLearn.com. It's a shame I was never so interested in learning new things when I was actually in school! But then, as I recall, they did make it so dreadfully tedious.

Random favorites: Food, especially chocolate. One of my favorite words is crumpets. My favorite academic subject is math.

Hi, my name is Rebecca but you could call me Becca or Becky, all three are fine by me. :)
I like fictional, fantasy, maybe a little bit historical but as long as I do not feel like I'm reading a history book), and a lot of the old classics (I grew up reading a lot of those). Some of my favorite classics would be something like "Ivanhoe," "Little Women," or "Pride and Prejudice". I like some modern books too like the "Once upon a Time" book series that are about twisted versions of the stories that we all know. For instance, there is one called "Golden" that is about Rapunzel if she was born without hair (It is not the Disney TV series. If you search for it in Chapters or the library you might find it). I wrote the stories "Unreasonable Abduction" and "Elemental Book I: Unlocking the Prophecy".

Name: Monty Mason
Favorite Genre: I suppose it would be slice of life. Though I don't think that is an actual genre in Western writing, so the closest thing would be drama. I really like writing that deals with everyday life events. Great writing can make even the mundane seem so fascinating and beautiful.
Hobbies and Interests: Creative Writing, Blogging, Video Making, Graphics Design, Video Gaming & learning different types of technologies (ie. Databases, Programming)
Other: If you ever request a review from me, it will be a honest one. There is no point in sugarcoating things and making them sound nice, it doesn't help you the writer. After all, that is why we want reviews. If you ever ask a review from me and expect it to be positive to perhaps stroke your own ego, then you're going to the wrong person. :)

Hello!
I'm not exactly new to this website, but it's something that I took an extended hiatus from at the beginning of the year, so I'm trying to integrate myself back into it. There's so many new people that it's hard to know where to begin!Name: Danny, & it is genuinely nice to meet you all. I'm okay with the name Daniel, as well.
Favorite Genre:There's quite a lot that I like reading, ranging from Fantasy (Christopher Paolini & The Inheritance Saga, His Dark Materials) YA (David Levithan, John Green, Rachael Cohn) etc.
I know this isn't really a genre per se, but because I'm such a fan of the Halo franchise, I read quite a lot of the books that are associated with it. It's how I came across my all-time favorite author, Karen Traviss. Honestly, look up her non-Halo work!Hobbies and Interests: There's a lot, although writing is the only thin I know I'm actually good at. I like sketching from time to time, it's very useful from when I'm burned out from writing & need another outlet to be creative. I'm not quite up to the level I want yet, but I'm improving with practice!
I play the guitar quite a lot - I wish you could all see my 3/4 length I got since I was 13. I had it signed by everybody in my class during my finals. It's absolutely priceless to me. If you make it onto my guitar, it means something! I got my Dad - the reason I play guitar in the first place - this beautiful mahogany number with mother-of-pearl circling around it for Father's Day.He loved it!
Gaming is something I love doing (although I had to pare back because I can get addicted) I'm a casual gamer, but I look for great plots inside a game, the environments a player finds themselves in, the campaign as opposed to any sort of multiplayer aspect. Having said that, Smash Bros is just a great big bundle of fun! (I main Ness!)Favorites:

Color: Yellow - specifically Canary Yellow. You try looking at that color & try not to feel more optimisitc! I dare you.
Animal: an Otter, more than anything else in the world. There's an otter living near a park where I live. We're on a first-name basis.
Book: If I had to pick a series, His Dark Materials made me believe that I could write something as rewarding in its themes as that. The Amber Spyglass was my favorite!
Season: Winter is my favorite. I love the dark nights & walking around the city under florescent lights, Halloween, Christmas...
Song: I love Avril Lavigne, & the song I'm listening to at the moment is When You're Gone, but *not* the studio version. Look up the acoustic version on Spotify, & you'll realize that she can sing!
Quote: "If you treat me like a stranger, then I'll treat you like a ghost."
Other: I am the most horrible person when it comes to holding online conversations. Seriously there are about a dozen users on this site who will know what I'm talking about, & it's been months since I've gotten back to any of them. Having said that, I'm more than willing to talk to anyone through PM, & if you need any help, I'll be more than happy to oblige! I don't view other writers as competition to get jealous over, I view them as people aiming for a common goal, & who said only one of us can succeed?Deleted User | September 18, 2016
Hey there! :3
Name: Molly, Mars, or MJ
Favourite Genre: I prefer to write Tragedies, as I find that putting characters through turmoil generally helps me to characterise them better. Sometimes (very rarely) I also write Romance, but this is generally in drabble form rather than chaptered form.
Hobbies and Interests: Other than reading and writing, I play the piano and sing. I also draw, and draw a lot of mock-ups for my cover art and sketches of my characters!
Favourites: Colour - blue; Animal - dolphin; Book - Shock of the Fall by Nathan Filer; Series - Harry Potter; Season - Autumn; Song - currently, its Rihanna's Dancing in the Dark
Other: I have ADHD so sometimes it takes me a long time to work on writing. But it's my love, so I will always get around to it. Also, feel free to talk to me about characters! (Disclaimer: I will most likely talk your ear off if you ask about my OCs.)
