Time And Again

By: Michael Richardson

Status: In Progress

Summary:

The year is 2317. All records of anything that occurred anywhere on Earth prior to 20 January 2017 are gone. All that remains of humanity is the advanced technology of being able to "Set" genetic conditions to near-perfection, and this has resulted in a society fractured between near-immortal aristocrats and all other humans, with only a select few being chosen to work for one of the ruling Houses. Diana, a young girl with extremely high Settings, has been chosen to work for the old and prestigious House Stepfordson, and given her arrival from deathly poverty, she is determined not to ruin the one chance she might have at making her life mean something. But she finds that in a world with no past, no present and no future, nothing is as it seems.

Hey! I've been reading this for a small bit but I really like it so far! I'll comment more soon when I have time but keep it up!

I've seen this story edited for a while but never really got into it. Just taking a quick look now with the prologue - it looks good without giving away anything from the main story, save for the customer's name and rough timeframr from which it's set.

I guess the one line I found that could be tidied was 'Societies have both blossomed into come and gone picking up the pieces of minds shattered by a gaze ...' it reads a bit awkwardly but nothing a simple edit can't fix. But looks good otherwise. Looking forward to reading more though.

Thank you for your critique! As of now, I'm uploading all chapters in a sort of second-draft form, and I'm editing them as-I-go offsite in chunks of 20 chapters (out of a planned 125.)

This was a great introduction to the story, I really enjoyed it. Your writing style is much different to mine and flows really well, and you pepper in little world-building elements without detracting from the scene itself. The three main characters who speak - ~Diana Mary-Ann & Camellia - all have distinct personalities. I'm curious about where it goes next!
