Hiding their faces with beautiful masks

To dissimulate the secrets underneath

The vicious and the dirty

The shameful and the guilty

But that look in their eyes

Can’t fool anyone

It shows perfectly what is locked up

In their minds, their hearts

What really is on the inside

Everyone’s playing a role

And I let others see

Non-existent parts of me

Imagined pieces

Fancy bits

And just like me

They are not what they let the world see

Whoever they seem

With their beautiful, sham masks on

Clearly

They only pretend to be
