Mirror, mirror

Tell me who I am

Sometimes I don’t even remember my name

I’ve done everything

To make them love me

By they only see

What they want to see

When will I ever flee

From the fake one they’re making of me

How it hurts

When I know that my own mother

Wishes I could be

A girl like her

A girl always singing, dancing

Joyful and reckless

But I am cheerless

And she doesn’t know sadness

So I’ve tried to be like that

Smiling at any moment, no matter what

But what a fake smile

I show every time

So, that girl, you see

Is a girl I’ll never be

I am no one but me

And that’s what I’ll ever be

But again, who am I?

Oh please mirror, won’t you clarify

Who am I?

That question still remains

As the years have gone by

I realized the lie

No need to falsify

Now I know

I am not what meets the eye

Mirror, mirror

Tell me who I am

The one I am and the one I seem are not the same
