Album

In the forest, not far from home

An aubade surged through the trees

A girl was playing in the grass

When she heard a beckoning

And with that call she left her home

For a forest depth unseen

To find herself in wonderland

Oh, a wondrous little scheme

Beneath the green she saw something

A gift left on a branch

The further she went into the deep

The less she could tread back

For with each step amongst these trees

Little did she know

Her soul was taken by the handful

In exchange for a life unknown

The creatures that sang the song of dawn

Were not of human form

Their souls were taken, like this one

By a spell that cursed the morn'

As the girl approached the gift

Her hands did taunt the beasts

"Please, don't take it!" They cried to her

So take she did with ease.

You're really great at setting an atmosphere for your poetry. I'm not good with poems, but yours is top notch in my eyes. Good job, Richard!
