Cosmopolitan Concrete

The free flowing air bounces with such life,

fertile farm soil fruitfully sows the same,

solemn creatures wagering little strife,

rural existence is no selfish game.

Colourful birds sing in gay harmony,

peaceful trees echo idyllic safety,

defeating cancerous disharmony,

time’s pass can be anything but hasty.

A humble hamlet of humble habit,

always knows what challenges to expect,

for the vast hallowed hills we inhabit,

to the cosy outside are derelict.

No daily escape is surely as sweet

as the cold cosmopolitan concrete.
