The Valley of the Shadow of Death

The darkness shall not inundate what remains of me; I will carry the weight of my life through this storm.

Where the light of the sun does not shine, my soul guides me; though the deadened plains I’ll carry the stone of hope.

O God let me, built in your image, traverse this valley; let thunder not engulf the last of my courage.

Though I beat the scars of my sins, wade me through flames; carry my soul when it seems it cannot go on.

O God, keep your servants, sleeping now in silence, that they may find their way through the depths of Hell’s flames, O God. The ancients rest, O God; keep them and cleanse their souls. Give me tranquility despite my offenses.

Through the fires, I learn the statues of eternity; I am the lamb who was lost and has found comfort.

I see the valley opening up before me; I shall have no fear for the ancients abide me.

The ancient inferno is coursing through my body; coarse winds and high waters will lead me to freedom.

I cross the bridges and enter eternal days for I have been given the key to paradise.

The pillars of transgression tower over my soul; as the darkness looms above my soul carries on.

Through the sanctions of fire and my suffering, the ancient light shines bright as I enter these old gates.

Walk with me, stay with me O ancients, as I journey through the fire and wind to a better forever.
