When they say it's just a number;
When they look and roll their eyes;
They sit around with hearts in slumber
While away all the time flies.

When he took a verbal beating
From other girls in the vengeful world,
He knew their barbs wouldn't be defeating
The joy rooted deep within his soul.

When she grew lonely in the night
From darkness strewn for many miles
She knew that she held something warm and bright
And to her face returned her smiles.

They are together and the time stands still
For everyone who can't understand
There's such a love this young pair can feel
It makes living so beautifully grand.

Others look at calendars and see only dates
Just days that will pass on by
While yet we look and see thirty days great
Oh, God, how time did fly.
