The Gargoyles of the planet Kalthorne have always protected newly arrived settlers from the Dark Forces of "The Marauders". The Human settlers have inhabited the world for a century now, and some have even learned about the existence of the Marauders through the Gargoyles. They are, with the help of the Gargoyles, preparing for the Marauders to awaken after their Five-Hundred-Year-Slumber. A small group of Gargoyles, congregated within the sanctuary of Chestervale Church, are teaching the Humans about what the future holds in store for them. Father and Mother O'Hara, along with their Parishioners and other villagers of Chestervale, must convince the City Dwellers of the absolute necessity of trusting the Gargoyles, in spite of the creatures' frightening appearance. A young Gargoyle named Luck Giver, together with a Human named Kristel Gaiala, form a friendship as they begin to work together in preparation for The Terrible Awakening.
