I suppose I should write something here, yes? Gah, I'm the world's worst at these sorts of things. xD
Anyway, I am a 24-year-old lady that grew up with a love for art. My passion is writing, but I also have an interest in fashion and photography. As far as writing goes, I have completed one novel titled A Midsummer Lullaby inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream. It is first in a 4-book series and is currently undergoing final edits. It is the story of my heart that I'm writing mostly for myself, but I do hope to publish one day.
I'll be posting chapters from A Midsummer Lullaby here as I feel comfortable sharing. Comments/reviews are appreciated and I will do my best to return the favor!

In the beginning of 2015, if you had said the world as we knew it was going to end you would be labeled insane. By the end of the same year those who labeled you would be dead.
That opening line hooked me. Way to go!
I personally like that we have a large cast, but it's a bit of an effort on the reader to remember everyone's names and descriptions. The only characters that have stuck in my mind so far is our protagonist Shay, Carson, Marena, and Katrina, but I'm pretty they are the main ones anyway.
This was a pretty fun read, and as I said, I'm hooked. To be honest, I thought someone else was sending out Katrina's texts and I had that ominous feeling of "oh, no! It's a trap!" and was surprised it was actually Katrina all along. It was a nice build up of suspense for me. Things really got excited at the end. I can't wait to read the next chapter because I'm curious to see what happens to our cast.
Sadly, I only have time to for Chapter One tonight. I'll try to get to it this weekend when I have more time. Keep up the awesome!

Thank you for the comment! This thing has gone through some heavy editing so I'm happy to hear that it flows well and that the relationship between Aveya and Rory feels natural. One of my greater struggles is building believable relationships without making it feel "forced".
Again, thank you for taking the time to comment even when fantasy is not your typical forte. I myself am a big Tolkien fan and his influence drives my love of all things magical. :)

Aw, thank you for the kind comment! Makes me feel good since lately I've been pretty down about my writing. The dream sequence in 'A Dream of Winter' is one of my favorite scenes. I love the way I visual it playing out in my head, anyway. I'm not sure how much more of the story I'll post (it's already written out in full, just undergoing final edits), but we will see. :)

I only managed to read the prologue tonight. I'll be doing chapter-by-chapter comments as I go along. ;)
I chose this one because I love sibling-centric stories, and this had an interesting premise. I'm curious to meet the the white haired girl mentioned in your summary as well as see what supernatural elements will come to play.
Now, coming into this, I was a little confused. The prologue is set up like we're following Michael's story and not Jake's. I know we're only highlighting what happened to Michael, but I don't feel I've connected to Jake at all at this point. He's put on the backburner. I don't even know what's going through his head upon discovering his brother has cancer. But since Michael is the sole focus of this chapter, I have to wonder if we're really seeing the last of him. Since I've gotten such a close glimpse of his character, I'm bummed to have to leave him. He seems to care a great deal about Jake, and I like that. I look forward to getting to know Jake a little bit better, though.
