Tempus Fugit

In time, the world

Shall spin again

And leave us both behind,

Dearest ghost.

And someday hence,

Someone shall stand

Upon that Earth

And draw the breath

That once was ours.

In time, our names

Shall pass by into nothing,

And the world live on

As though we never were.

In time, your grudges

Seem more cruel than before,

And the folly of your silence

Grows, oh dearest ghost.

And the world that

Spins yet with us fills

So steadily with hatred,

And your bitter vengeance seems

So fruitless as the seasons pass.

In time, the world shall

Leave us both behind,

Oh dearest ghost,

But the memory of our

Friendship lives yet on.

And, as our days pass by,

And breaths grow fewer,

I wait still for you, out

Beyond the walls you built.
