The Girl was someone who everyone knew

But then again didn't

The girl who would help out with so many things

But struggled with the simplest of things

The girl who wanted to be loved

But could never be loved

 

The girl was someone who started out 

Like every other person

But had a sad tale to tell

The girl was someone with a happy family

Until a man came into her life

 

The man took her family away

To lands she didn't know about

The man who took her away from her friends

Who put her into a school of nobodies

The man who abused her in so many way

Who put on an act in front of others

 

The girl who used to believe in her self

The girl who was kind to others

The girl who believed she could do anything

The girl who saw only good

The man tore that down and

Gave her a new face

 

Gave her a face that wasn't her own

A face she didn't even recognize

A face that was long and worn

A face that was sad and hopeless

A face that she didn't want

 

The man was forced away

But the pain he caused didn't stop

The girl still couldn't face the world

The girl couldn't face her friends

The girl couldn't even face herself

 

So she put on a smile

A smile to fool the world

A smile to fool her friends

A smile to fool herself

A smile she couldn't take away

 

Years passed and the girl seemed happy

She had real friends

She had dreams

She had a life all her own

But the fake smile never left

 

She wished her friends would notice her pain

She wished that someone would take it away

She wished for so many things

But most of all

She wished that someone could get her out

 

The Girl had locked away her heart

Locked away her feelings

Locked them away so she couldn't get hurt

But when she wanted her heart back

She couldn't unlock the box

 

So the girl tired to go on like nothing had changed

But everything had changed

She couldn't be the same with her friends

She couldn't put on the smile that fooled everyone

The smile that had been her life line

Was now causing her pain

 

The only thing the girl could do was wish

Wish that someone could see her pain

Wish that someone could help her smile

Wish that she'd be okay

Wish that she would be loved

Wish that someone could unlock her heart

 

She is the girl that everyone knew

But no one truly knew

She is the girl that gave and gave

But never took

She is the girl that saw the good in everything

But couldn't see the good in herself

She is the girl that never shed a tear

But cried when she was alone

She is the girl that wanted to be loved

But could never be loved for all her flaws
