Album

As I walked down the path in the frozen desolate woods,

no sounds could I hear but the crunching of the snow and cracking of tree limbs
burdened with ice, as they glistened in the sun

I turned my face towards the warmth
Looking to fill a void that kept me searching
But the emptiness still remains heavy upon my heart and soul
That it pushed me to continue to walk
Trying to feel what used to make me happy
But still not knowing if those emotions would ever come again

Should I give up? Should I pray?
Before, I seemed to always know
I was never afraid, never unsure, just secure in who I am
And what I believe with no doubts or uncertainties

Feeling broken and alone, I continued to walk
In the distance I heard chirping and it made me realize there is life
Amongst all of the cold and icy emotions that fill me
The sound of life makes me understand
That with the beauty of God’s hand and the sound of new beginnings
How could I truly ever be alone?
