No one knew his name
Nor from where he came
All they knew is that a man was living still
In the house on a hill
That man
Was for them a mystery
He would tell his story then
But he couldn’t let them see
All his life he’s been told
He would be nothing when he’s old
He’s been torn apart
By people
They never loved him
Never gave him the right attention
When he grew up
He told himself, “But they’re now all buried, lying in their graves”
He wasn’t anymore one of their slaves
He craved blood
He craved death
He loved to steal souls
Just like they took his
They said he was the villain
Always the same refrain
But all those in this world who suffer
Don’t they deserve to find a shelter?
He was there to give them relief
He was there to gift them deliverance
By one night
He was standing on the sill
In the low light he was appealing
Handsome, charming
Just like the darkness is so inviting
She did see
Oh, someone finally did see
The beautiful blend of light and darkness in him
The light beams in his eyes
A cold, thrilling light in his steel blue eyes
While the darkness in his soul resides
And the shades of it in his heart he hides
Sometimes in his spirit open wide
The two shades of light and dark collide
But not forming the color grey
He came to guess, “It takes over me, the dark side”
Looking at her, with a sight that did thrill
He walked into the room with skill
And slightly whispered, “My intention is to kill”
Every time he thought he got someone’s heart
He went back down with hurt
“No love, no harm.
Just another false alarm”
So he could not believe
That she was able to love him
“Please, let me go”, she implored
But her prayers to the lord
Were all vain
And she knew it when he murmured
“You want to go just like everyone left me
But I love the way you shine
My intention is to keep you mine”
Her weep he couldn’t abide
He approached that thin body he tied
“Forgive me, my love”, he said
As he pointed his weapon to her head
And with the sight of a caring lover
He shot her
That homicide
Was just another secret he had to hide
A quick painful sound
Blood flowing on the ground
He looked into her dead empty eyes
He bowed and told his last goodbyes
No regrets, no shame
But was he to blame?
After all, there have been much worse things
In the house on a hill
