Happy was the little girl

Many years ago

But then she became a mourner

When her father had to go

She couldn’t understand

This thing called death

All she knew

Is that her father held his last breath

He isn’t here, said they

Her dear father was taken away

The weeping daughter

Had to live with a broken mother

And two sisters younger than her

With time it seemed clearer

Little daughter lost her beloved father

Sadness, grief, anger

Her burden forever

Little girl has grown

And now feels like a stone

Cold to the bone

Numb and alone

Big girl now sees it all

How a thing can change it all

Maybe if that day he wasn’t in his car

We would never had that call

Every day, she has to remember

The loss of her dear father

On that day of November

The weeping daughter in her fight

Still cries every night

Life teaches her to be strong

But she keeps being weak all along

Mourner is me

Since a long time

After all I’ve been through

I haven’t survived, I died too

Happy was the little me

Many years ago

But then I became a mourner

When my father had to go
