I close my eyes and think of you
I see you standing in front of me
With your hand on my cheek
I feel your warm breath on my face
You lean in for a kiss and
My heart starts to race at the feel
Of your soft lips on mine
I open my eyes and you aren’t there

I close my eyes again and I feel you
Hugging me from behind and you
Kiss me on the neck which then
Makes me smile,
I couldn’t be any happier
I open my eyes again and you aren’t there any more

Once more I close my eyes and I see you
Kneeling before me holding up a ring
Asking if I’ll marry you
I start crying with joy as I nod
And answer “Yes.”
I see us on our wedding day
With our close friends and family
Saying “I do” leaning in for a kiss
And smiling at each other

I see us with our own house
And with children if we ever decide to have kids
I see us growing old together and enjoying life
With one another at each other’s side
I then see one of us in a hospital bed just announced dead
And the other sitting on one side of the room crying

I then see the funeral with family and a few friends
Gathered together for the remembrance of who once lived
And brought joy to everyone’s lives
And one of us standing up at the podium
Crying as they talk about how great the other was
And how much they loved them
They take a pause as they start
Thinking about all the good memories
And they smile and their tears of sadness
Turn into tears of joy as they go through
Every happy memory that was ever created

I then open my eyes and a tear rolls down my cheek
Whether it be of happiness or sadness
I do not know
But what I do know is that the two of us
Will have a happy life if we both try hard enough
