Summary:
Life wasn't always going to go his way. Carlisle knew and accepted that, but he never believed it would fly this out of control. First a coup, then a dear friend breaks their friendship, Carlisle marries, and he believes life will finally stop going the wrong way. Only, it doesn't, and Carlisle soon realizes that he won't be the one picking up the pieces.
