Dragons have all but disappeared from earth - along with riders known as the Dragonsworn - and only existing in myth and legend. After near extinction because of the Hundred Year War against the Seven Human Kingdoms, encounters with them are incredibly rare and most do not live to tell the tale. So when a young Thief finds a rare stone, the world is plunged into chaos as corrupt kings and queens hunt the young rider and her dragon. It is all she can do to survive in the wilds while trying to stay alive and keep her bonded beast safe. But it is not only Kingdom rulers after her and she has come to find she can trust no one but herself.
