It was a curse. A spell. The witch had cast it not knowing the future chaos that it would impend. Aesthetically it was just an average chain. A silver piece of jewellery one would wear around their neck but, in reality it was a gateway. A portal to another world activated by sleep; in particular, dreaming. This chain was what linked the average world of Earth to the fantastical world of Cantertine. A place filled with magically gifted individuals and extraordinary creatures. It was also a place that inhabited a vengeful man. One who couldn't wait to get his hands on a power that would allow him to obtain these wonders and use them to take control of the seemingly ordinary Earth.
