Okay, here's the lowdown on everything. My name is Felicity Mikkel Nacht. I'm a cambion. For those of you idiots that don't know. It means I'm evil. I'm a half-breed freak that isn't accept by anyone because I find blood and guts funny, but I'm not immortal or all powerful like all the others of my evil side. I just don't fit in and I don't give a shit. I have my best friend, the only creature in existence that likes me, Dylan and his baby Snoekums.
"Dylan!" I screamed as Snoekums pounced on me, knocking my school books out of my hands and across the floor as his putrid breath fell against my face. Most the time I loved the creature, despite its horrid appearance I kind of thought him cute, "Get this beast off of me!"
There was a light chuckle as Dylan manifested from the shadows. I should have known. He was there the entire time and I was almost sure that the little demon had told Snoekums to pounce on me. Oh, that little demon was going to pay, once I finished my book report. I might have been half demon, but my mother was still a bitch and managed to get me to do whatever. It might have been the fact that she used my father as a threat. Maybe the millennia old demon was a bit terrifying. I wasn't sure the bastard would leave hell to come take care of me, but I never wanted to find out.
Dylan snapped his fingers and the large beast jumped over to his master's side, "Ah, Mikki," I rolled my eyes as I brushed my short dark hair out of my face, "calm down," his thin lips spread in a cruel smile. Yeah, he was my best friend and he was also the biggest thorn in my side. What else could I expect from a demon… "I have word from hell. Your padre is very interested in finally meeting you," his pale stormy green eyes lit up as he clapped his hands together, "Oh, a trip back to hell! So much fun! So much fun!"
I pushed myself to my feet as I straightened my plain black beater style tank top, "Who said I was going to follow you to hell? The last time anyone else from hell saw me they tried to kill me!" I straightened my plaid micro-mini skirt before I smoothed my skin tight black jeans out, "I'm not going down there."
Dylan jumped over to me and grabbed my wrist to stop me. I knew that my OCD always annoyed him, but I didn't care. I just couldn't have a single piece of my clothing out of place. Hell, I couldn't even leave my room without spending fifteen minutes making sure that my hair was perfectly straight. My OCD was crippling at times and I just didn't understand it, "Sorry to say, Mikki," he pulled me over towards Snoekums, "You dad's the one that calls the shots."
His grip on my wrist tightened as I tried to pull away. That was odd. Dylan had never handled me in such a way. He had almost always been nice, for a demon, towards me. His grip was almost painful, "Ow."
Dylan's eyes grew wide as Snoekums growled at him, "Hell!" at that Dylan let go of my wrist and Snoekums lunged at the demon. I stepped back and watched as my hands ran over my clothes. It was fascinating. I had always thought that Dylan was Snoekums master. I guess I was wrong. It was obvious to me as Snoekums' muzzle snapped down on Dylan's hand and the demon cursed.
I couldn't help myself. A cruel smile spread across my lips as blood gushed from the stump where his hand had been just moments before, "Snoekums," I cooed and the beast looked over at me, "don't you think that's enough, boy. You have to let him live," I turned my cold gaze on Dylan, "So you can do it again!"
Dylan glared at me, "Can it, Mikki!" I gave him an innocent look as I stepped over to them and Snoekums nuzzled me with his skeletal muzzle, "This hurts like shit!"
I nodded as I watched his hand as it started to grow back. Lucky full bloods. They had it easy. They had all the powers and yet they still complained about everything. That was the only thing that bothered me about Dylan, "So why did Snoekums just attack you?"
Dylan rolled his eyes before he pushed himself to his feet, "It's time to go to hell."
I gave the demon an indignant glower as I crossed my hands over my chest, "Okay, get me to move from this spot."
Dylan narrowed his stormy green eyes on me, "You evil little bitch."
I smiled as I nodded, "Yep, cambion. Basically the definition."
Dylan chuckled, "Oh, you are a little pistol, but," he shrugged and my surroundings started to change. I should have known better. Dylan didn't need to take me there on Snoekums back. He could just throw me into the pit with a simple thought. Having Snoekums right there would have just made it better for me. But as it was. I was alone in the pit with a thousand or so demons.
I am so screwed, was the only thing that went through my head as all manner of demon turned to look at me. I was a measly little cambion. I was evil, just like them, but I wasn't nearly as powerful as any of them, Well, thank you, Dylan, I took a deep breath as I waited for the first demon to rush me. Yes, I was stronger than a normal human girl, but these were freaking demons! Demons! They kind of frowned on the mixing of blood.
Well, that's where I stood. Up shit creek without a paddle…
2: Chpt 2It was just hard to believe that after five seconds I was still breathing. Though, the air was acrid with the scent of demon sweat, but I was still breathing. Why hadn't they attacked me? It usually happened that whenever a cambion was in a demon's presence the demon always attacked. What made this one time special? What? I just didn't understand.
The crowd of demon's parted to let seven demons step up to me. Oh, wow. Seven stunningly attractive demons. I had never seen a demon look so good. Even the one that was overweight was gorgeous. Okay, who were these demons and why did the rest part to let them through? Oh, and why were they coming right at me?
One of them, a man about 6'4" with long ebony locks and bright emerald eyes, broke from the group and made his way over to me. I wanted to swoon over the creature of evil in front of me, but the cold look in those emerald orbs kept me frozen in place, "Felicity," just the loathing in the way he said my name scared me, "I can't believe your mother actually named you happiness," I let out a relieved breath as I realized it was the name he didn't like. Not me.
I took a deep breath before I finally found my voice, "Who are you?"
The demon's lips curled in a cruel smile that I guessed was supposed to be charming, "I'm Wrath, baby girl, you're father."
My eyes grew wide as I stared up at the demon before me. This was my father. The demon I was about to swoon over was my father! How wrong was that! I just wanted to vomit! Ew! He was my dad! "Wrath? As in seven deadly sins Wrath?"
He nodded as he turned to face the other six, "Meet the rest of the gang. Envy, Gluttony, Pride, Greed, Sloth, and Lust."
I gave my father a droll stare, "I know what the seven deadly sins are," I crossed my arms over my chest, "Why the hell am I in Hell right now?"
My father smirked at me and those emerald eyes flashed red, "Don't you know? Dylan was supposed to tell you," he looked around for a moment, "Speaking of which," his grin turned evil and I knew that Dylan was in trouble, "where is the little pissant?"
I shrugged as I looked beyond my father at the other six deadly sins, "Why does he matter?"
"Dylan!" my father's voice was low and I could tell that it was carrying through the dimensions. My father was Dylan's master. No wander the demon was always at my side. It wasn't because he wanted to be. The little prick had to. Great best friend! I was glad that Snoekums bit off the demon's hand.
After a moment of silence, Dylan appeared in front of me with Snoekums at his side, "Wrath," his entire form started to shake and I kind of felt sorry for the creature. What had my father done to him to make him so frightened? It really shouldn't have surprised me. My father was Wrath. The creature knew nothing more than pain and suffering, "she's here."
My father's thin brow rose as his eyes went from white and green to black and red. Well, that was terrifying, "You were supposed to explain everything to her," he crossed his arms over his chest as his skin went from the beautiful ivory it had been before to a strange marbled grey, "Why didn't you?"
Dylan glanced back at me and I could see the pleading look in his eyes. I just couldn't leave the poor creature hanging. He might have been sent to me, but he had always been there for me. Right there at my side when I was younger and would cry because no one liked me. I couldn't be mad at him, "I have a tendency of not listening to anyone," I gave my father a droll stare, "What am I doing here?"
My father's black lips spread into a thin smile, "Well, you're sixteen and that means that you're powers are awakening. It's time to learn what you can do and whether or not you'll be allowed to dwell in hell with me."
I scoffed, "What makes you think I want to live down here with here with you? You knocked my mother up and just left. I didn't even know that you were my father, the famous Wrath, until just a few moments ago. So don't get mad if I don't feel the love."
He shrugged, "Good, because there's none. I don't love you. I'm just entrusted your care until you are deemed whatever it is you're going to be. It's actually a punishment."
Cold! I didn't expect anything else from a demon, though, "Right, because you had fun."
My father scoffed as he rolled his eyes, "Believe me, baby girl, nothing's worth this."
I chuckled as I glanced over at Dylan and Snoekums, "Okay, pops, if you don't give a damn about me and I'm just a punishment," I smiled, "Why did you send a demon and hell hound to watch over me?"
One of the other six laughed, a small woman with dark red hair and bright blue eyes, "Are you sure she's not Pride's kid? She's pretty bright."
My father's ruby gaze hardened as he turned towards the woman, "Envy," his tone was sharp and the woman took a step back, "shut it."
The woman nodded as she stepped behind one of the other men. Well, that was interesting. Why was Envy frightened of my father? They were on the same level. They were both extremely powerful.
I cocked an amused brow as my father turned back towards me, "Wrath?"
My father smiled, "I care about my blood. Believe me that it is not even close to love. We're not capable of such emotions."
I nodded as I glanced around the room at all the demons, "Okay, one last question. How bad ass are you?"
I turned back to see that my father had once again taken his human form, "Bad enough, baby girl," he held his hand out to me, "Now, let's go a little deeper into the pit and see what you can do. Find out how bad ass you are."
I nodded as I took my father's hand and found it cold and hard. He wasn't like any other demon I had touched. The creature that was holding my hand was strong, stronger than anything I had been around. Was that why he stayed in the pit?
I glanced over at Dylan to see the fear in his stormy green eyes. Was he afraid for me or was he just cowering in front of my father? Should I cower in front of my father?
"What about Snoekums and Dylan?"
My father sighed, "Please don't tell me you've allowed that creature to call my beloved beast Snoekums," he shook his head, "Nevermind, it's not important."
I smiled as I thought about Dylan. Okay, I finally understood what Dylan's role in my life was. He was just some minor demon that was supposed to watch over me until I turned sixteen. He was also the lucky one to get away from my father. It made me wonder how many demons my father had dominion over.
I shrugged the thought off as we reached the other six sins. I could just feel the power that was emanating from the seven of them. It made me wonder how powerful I was going to be. I surely wouldn't remain a human with just a bit enhanced strength. It would be so cool if I had telekinesis and other powers. What would I be able to do?
3: Chpt 3Well, I'll just say I wasn't expecting what did happen. My father led me through Hell with the rest of the sins to a large obsidian mansion. I wanted to call it a castle, but it looked too modern for it to be considered a castle. It was pretty, though. The perfect vacation home.
My father stepped up to the front door and pushed it open to admit us, "Welcome to my home," he let me walk in first and my eyes grew wide. Well, that wasn't what I was expecting either. From the outside, I would have guessed that the interior would be just as dark and dank, but it was bright and did have a homey feel to it. Oh-kay. The sins were a bit different than I had expected.
"Pink fuzzy pillows?"
My father growled as he pushed me further into the house, "Pride and Sloth like to read those stupid human magazines about what's supposedly nice. Then Pride won't allow me to rip everything to shreds."
One of the other females shoved my father and he grabbed her wrist, instantly turning into his demon persona, "Don't growl at me, beast," she patted his chest as she pulled away, "Get to taking care of your mutt," she smiled at me and I rolled my eyes. Typical hell bitch.
My father rolled his eyes as he led me down a dark hall to a closed door. I first thought that it was just going to be a room, but when he opened the door to show me an obsidian staircase that matched the outside of the house I was terrified. What the hell was my father planning on doing?
"Down," I nodded as I started down the stairs, blue flames lighting torches as we made out descent. What exactly was at the bottom of these stairs? I didn't know, but after a short while I wondered if the stairs did lead anywhere. I felt I was descending down into the very pit the devil dwelt. Would I be meeting the famous Lucifer already? Why was I excited about that thought?
Finally, my feet touched level ground and the room lit with an eerie blue-green light, but there was no real source to the light. This was what I had expected the main rooms of the house to look like, "Where are we?"
"These are my dwellings," I smiled. Okay, it was official. I knew that this demon was my father because this was exactly what I would turn my dwellings into if I could. This was just freaking awesome. Come on, it was creeping me out and that meant it would scare the shit out of anyone else I brought there. Oh, it would be so perfect!
"Okay," I looked up at my father to see that the eerie glow gave my father an eerie appearance. It was so awesome. It was official. I loved my father! "what am I supposed to do now?"
My father shook his head as he called out, "Dylan, get your pathetic ass down here!"
At that, Dylan appeared in front of us, but he didn't look the way I was used to. He looked like a… I wasn't sure what to call him. I had never seen anything like him. He had large black feathery wings, cat ears that almost gave him a cute appearance, and a lion-like tail. It wasn't until he looked up at me that I realized that his eyes has changed from their human-like appearance to something I had never seen before, and I had seen quite a few demons. The pupil was white, the iris was black, and the white was that strange stormy green. It was probably the coolest thing about his appearance.
My father gave Dylan an evil grin, "Well, you know what to do," my father stepped back as I fell forward as if I had been pushed, but no one was close enough. It was probably that my father was like most demons and had telekinesis. Why would he have pushed me?
I found out soon enough as Dylan lunged at me. Well, that wasn't right. My gaze narrowed on Dylan a moment before I narrowly dodged him. I jumped to my feet and felt that my belt was twisted, but I couldn't do anything about it. I wanted to curse as Dylan attacked me again. This time he managed to slice my tank top and my stomach.
I growled at the bright red line that appeared over my pale flesh. This was not right and I was starting to get extremely irritated. So much so…
My eyes grew wide as I felt the strangest sensation. It was like this pressure in my entire body, but it was pleasant. It was invigorating. I wasn't sure what it was and then it was gone. I didn't care. I still felt better than I ever had in my life.
I turned towards Dylan before I lunged at the demon. I didn't care that he was my best friend. He just tore my favorite tank top and cut me. He was going to pay! I wrapped my hands around his shoulders and I pinned him to the ground, "You little bastard!" I growled as I dug my claws into the demon's shoulders… Wait… When did I get claws…
I jumped to my feet and turned towards my father to see that he was smiling at me, "That's enough, Dylan," Dylan let out a light sigh as my father waved his hand towards the far wall. I turned in the direction to see that a mirror had appeared, but that's not what got me. It's what I saw in the mirror. It was me, but so very different.
I stepped across the room to get a closer look because I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. My hair was a bright white that reflected the eerie blue glow of the room beautifully. My skin was the same strange gray marbled that my father had in his demon form. Then I had a pair of black fuzzy wolf ears on top of my head along with a fluffy black tail. My eyes were all white with only a dark circle where the outline of my pupil and iris, "What happened?"
My father stepped up behind me and smiled down at my reflection, "Very few demons actually look human," he shrugged, "Most cambion don't have a demon form, but I figured that you would. Quite beautiful, actually."
I sighed as I ran my hand through my hair, "What does this mean?"
My father placed his hands on my shoulders, "That you are welcome to come and go in the demon community as you please."
Well, that was an interesting bit of info…
4: Chpt 4I was lying in my bed at my mother's house later that day. I had gone back to my human form so my mother wouldn't freak out. She knew that my father was a demon, but she didn't know that I was anything like my father, "Dylan," I called as I rolled over onto my side. I was so confused at this point that the only thing that I wanted or could even think about was my best friend. The demon might have been a constant thorn in my side, but he had always been the only creature to console me, "Please…" I wrapped my arms around the stuffed bat, yes bat, that Dylan had gotten me when he traveled with me to the zoo with the school a few years prior.
A few moments later, I felt the light shift of the opening of a dimensional door, "Mikki?" I let out a light sigh at the sound of my best friends voice, "What's wrong?"
I sighed as I looked down at the bat that I had named Mr. Nibbles, Nibbler for short, "I have a choice on whether or not I want to live in hell right?"
"Yeah, you have the ability to renounce your demonhood and stay here, where no one likes or understands you…"
I shot him a sharp glare and my eyes grew wide when I saw my father standing in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest. Did Dylan want me to live in hell or was he just saying it because my father happened to be there? I didn't know and I really didn't care. What he said made sense. The only person that even gave two shits about me was my mother and I really couldn't stand the woman, "Right," I let out a light sigh, "Why are you here, Dad?"
His lips curled in an evil grin, "Can't a father come to brighten his daughter's day?"
I pushed myself into a sitting position, Mr. Nibbles still firmly in my grasp, "Yes, but," I finally sat the bat down beside me, "you're not that kind of father. You're an evil bastard that's only here for some reason that has nothing to do with father/daughter relationships."
Wrath nodded as he shrugged, "Came to check on your progress. I was kind of hoping that you would have killed someone by now."
I rolled my eyes as I pushed myself off my bed, "I'm still part human!" I stepped up to him and stared up into his emerald eyes, "I don't want to kill others," okay that was a blatant lie, but I didn't want that demon around. He thought that just because he was an all-powerful demon that he could do anything that he wanted. I was going to teach him a valuable lesson. I was not his puppet. I was his daughter and he was going to learn the definition of stubborn. Bitch. Hellion. Aggravating. Whatever word you wanted to use. It was going to be me…
My father stood up straight and stared down at me, his eyes red and black. That was a nifty trick. How did he just change one aspect about his appearance. Note to self, figure out how to do that… "Then I have no use for you and I will just leave you mortal right now."
My eyes grew wide. The demon threatened to kill me. My own father threatened to kill me! Okay, I know I shouldn't have been surprised, but… Hell, he was my father! How could a father do something like that to their own child. Demon… Okay, yeah, the shock was gone and I gave him my most arrogant grin, "Take it, right now. I dare you," I turned away from him and started over towards my bed, "That is," I looked over at my father, my grin gone as my gaze grew cold, "if you can."
The beast growled at me and I knew I was right. He couldn't do that. He couldn't take my powers. He couldn't take anything from me, "You are one cocky little bitch."
"She is your daughter…"
Both my father and I turned to look at Dylan. He had only mumbled the comment, but it was still loud enough for us to hear. I wanted to laugh at his comment. How aggravating was it that I was being just as bull-headed and arrogant as my father? It made me feel really good. I could piss off one of the most powerful demons in hell and I couldn't be hurt. Ha! I was amazing!
My father let out a low sigh to calm himself down, "Whatever, Felicity-"
I turned towards my father. No one called me Felicity, except for my mother, and I wasn't going to let him do so. I hated that name. I hated what it meant and I hated the way it sounded, "It's Mikki!"
At that my father laughed. He laughed at the name I went by. Well, it was official. I couldn't stand my father, "Mikki? Oh, Mouse!"
My eyes grew wide. Oh, no! That wasn't going to fly! I wasn't a timid mouse. I stood up for myself. I got in at least one fight a week. I was strong. I was a beast. No one, not even Wrath, was going to call me Mouse, "Just Mikki!"
Wrath sobered as he nodded, "Right, baby girl," he gave me that cocky grin of his, "Just tell me, who is it that you hate more than anyone else? Who?"
Samantha Greir. The name instantly came to mind. The girl was my half-sister. She was the girl that lived down the hall. She was two years older than I was and away at college, but the bitch still had a way of ruining my life as it was. Somehow she found out about all the fights that I got into at school and would call our mother about it. If there was one person to kill it would be her. Someone that shared the same blood as me, "My half-sister."
My father's eyes lit up, "Ah, blood," the way he said that almost made me think that he was tasting the hatred and enjoying it, "So sweet. I love it," he smiled, "Take action, baby girl, or else you'll never be able to again," with that he slipped through the dimensional door back to hell.
