~A Story For The Royalties~
Long ago,
In a far away land,
There was a village called 'NorthView.'
They were ruled by a king and a queen, as most villages were. They just had a newborn, one by the name of Princess Lumiere.
There were also important people in the village, such as the maiden Violet, who had a baby girl 11 days after the princess. No one knew who the father was, only Violet, but she refused to tell.
The baby girl's name was Gwendolyn.
There was also a school.
It was mostly for the royalties, but every year, 2 children, a girl and a boy, would be randomly chosen from each village.
One year, it was Gwendolyn.
Her mother was overjoyed, but Gwendolyn was devastated. She never wanted to be a royal. She didn't want to rule a random village.
So, in the middle of her 2nd year, guards arrived to Violet's house to inform her that Gwendolyn was nowhere to be found. Violet was terrified for her, but she was nowhere in the village.
But, this isn't just about Gwendolyn. It's a story about Lumiere and her soon-to-be friend, Lily.
Lily was a girl from another village called 'Glenbrook.' She was a girl who was always bubbly and tried to make the best of things. She had dark brown hair and light brown eyes. She had a heart shaped face and was a little pale, but had rosy cheeks.
Everyone knew she was a little bit of a troublemaker. They also thought that the year before, when Gwendolyn came to The Royalty School.
"Lily," The schoolmaster came up to her and led her to her dorm. "Promise me you won't do anything evil. Or you will be punished."
"Punished how?" Lily asked, her voice squeaking.
"By being sent to the forest." He pushed her in. "Where witches lurk and eat intruders. Now make some friends, such as her."
10-year-old Lily turned around, where 11-year-old Lumiere sat on her bed, peering out the window, looking for an old friend.
Now let's focus on the happiness, where Princess Lumiere and Student Lily will get in a bit of trouble.
But will boys arrive and join the fun?
I, one in the future, say yes.
2: Chapter 1Chapter 1
"Eric!" Lumiere laughed, running from the boy.
"Hey, it's usually the other way around," Eric laughed. "But I'm up for that."
"No way!" Lily ran after Eric.
"Eric!" A boy stepped up. "Come on."
"Aw, come on, Benjerman." Eric groaned. "What now? Was it Caelix?"
"Maybe." Benjerman looked sheepish.
Lily pat his back. "What did you do, Ben?"
"Nothing!" Benjerman insisted. "Well... Maybe I beat him at sword-fighting, but that's it!"
"Ha!" Lumiere laughed. "Taste of his own medicine, huh?"
"That's what earned me this," He pointed to a scratch under his eye. "He's crazy!"
Lily giggled, and ran her finger over it. "It looks like it hurt."
"Of course it did!" Benjerman scoffed. "Again, he's crazy!"
"Well," Lumiere stood up and pulled Lily with her. "Time to sleep."
"See you in the mourning!" Eric called after them.
But of course, this is the fairy tale world, so something HAS to go wrong.
And something did.
When Lumiere and Lily went up to their dorm, they did their normal routine. Brushed their teeth, changed into their pajamas, and then Lumiere thought about how she only had one year of school left, while Lily had two.
"Sleep." A girl named Katrine popped into their room. "You're making too much noise."
"No we were-" Lumiere started to protest, but Katrine stopped her.
"At least Kayla thinks so." She finished. "Now, I'm going to go."
Lumiere jumped into her mint green bed, and suddenly disapeared. Lily looked around for her, and cannonballed into the middle of it.
Now, if you think this is the end of the chapter, you are sadly mistaken. Instead, it's a line breaker.
~~~~~~
Where did Lumiere and Lily end up? The forest.
The forest is a dark place where some fairy tale princes and princesses ended up, such as Snow White or Belle.
3: Chapter 2Chapter 2
"Anyway," Gwen banged her fist on a table. "No need for any lovey-dovey things. Why are you guys even in the forest?"
"My bed." Lumiere finally said something after staring at Gwen for half an hour. "It teleported Lily and I to the forest. Where we found you."
"The forest is not somewhere a 'princess' should be." Gwen rolled her eyes. "You guys probably wished for something, and that something is probably out in the forest."
"Are there men that come to the forest?" Lily asked eagerly.
"Nope." Gwen shook her head. "People are afraid of this place. Even men."
"Then you are also here for something." Lumiere said. "Why are men afraid of the forest, while you, a teenage girl, are living here! Then you must be afraid of something in the villages."
"Hey!" Gwen yelled for a second. "You are here too, aren't you? Then you also must b-"
"Yell as long as you want, I'm just waiting for you to spit out the truth." Lumiere waved her hand.
Gwen stopped with an eyebrow raised.
"Why are you afraid of something?" Lily asked softly. "You look brave and... Different. Isn't different good?"
Gwen chuckled. "Sometimes, being different is bad. Otherwise known as not finding love."
"So you're afraid of not finding love?" Lumiere asked.
"It's actually the other way around." Gwen stood up started cutting something. "You are afraid of not finding love, I'm perfectly fine."
"Stop trying to twist up my words!" Lumiere protested. "So, you're afraid of finding love. Why?"
"Because." Gwen put something into a mini oven. "Love doesn't always work out. If you're alone, you're a bit more happier."
"You're lying." Lumiere stood up and pushed Gwen. Gwen simply looked at her.
"You're going to have to try harder than that." Gwen grabbed a dagger off the table and tossed it at Lumiere. She didn't bother to catch it. Gwen shrugged. "Fine, be killed by wolves. Or hunters, your choice."
"I'd like to try it!" Lily looked at her, eagerly.
"You don't look like you'd like a dagger." Gwen smiled and went to a closet. "Maybe a spear should work."
"What's a spear?" Lily asked, her eyes widened.
"This," Gwen held out a long arrow. "Is a spear."
"It looks like..." Lily thought for a minute. "An arrow."
"Well, it's stronger than that." Gwen gave the spear to Lily. "Come on, I'll teach you how to use it." Gwen led Lily outside. Lumiere stayed inside. Then she spotted something.
She got up, her nightgown trailing behind her. That... Thing was in a dark closet, but it shined brightly for some reason.
She reached in and pricked her finger against something. She pulled it out. It was a picture ripped out of a newspaper. She apparently got herself a papercut. She always got some, so she didn't mind. All she wanted to see was the picture. She gasped when she saw it.
It was Caelix the prince and Gwen at the top of the trees.
Lily finally got done practicing with her spear.
"Should we finish practicing tomorrow?" Gwen asked, grinning so widely that her smile might come off her face.
"Yeah!" Lily exclaimed. Then she looked confused. Why did Lumiere look so angry? And why was she going outside?
"Gwendolyn!" Lumiere screamed. "Do you know who he is?!" She held up a piece of paper in front of Gwen's face.
"Of course," Gwen replied cooly. "Why would I talk to him then? He's Caelix."
"How do you know him then?!" Lumiere shrieked.
"He came to the forest a few years ago." Gwen said. "And we talked for a while. The newspaper came to the edge of the forest and I ripped out that picture because I knew I wouldn't see him again. It was only going to be a reminder."
Lumiere relaxed and thought up of something.
"Lumiere?" Gwen asked. "Even though it's been a few years, I still remember one look on your face. The I-have-an-idea-but-I-can't-tell-anyone look."
"Oh, don't worry." Lumiere said in a sweet voice. "Do you have a phone?"
"Yeah." Gwen pulled out a rectangular object.
"The hell is that?" Lumiere asked.
Gwen sighed. "A phone. Who do you want to call?"
"Oh, give me it." Lumiere snatched it away from Gwen. "I'll figure it out. Stay here."
When Lumiere finally figured out how to dial, she said into the phone, "Hi, is this the School for Royals?"
4: Chapter 3Chapter 3
The Next Day...
"Oh Dear Lord..." Gwen groaned, not exactly surprised.
"What's wrong?" Lily poked her head through the doorway to the kitchen.
"This!" Gwen held up 3 pieces of paper up to Lily's face. "The School for Royalty wants us!"
"Then that's good!" Lumiere finally woke up and, as a princess should look like when she wakes up, looked flawless. "They're looking for us, meaning we're going back home!"
"No," Gwen looked ashamed. "Not all of us."
"What?" Both girls looked at Gwen, surprised.
"Gwendolyn-" Lumiere tried to talk, but Gwen cut her off.
"MY NAME. IS NOT. GWENDOLYN." Gwen growled. "She's gone, replaced by me, the evil in this world."
"You're not evil!" Lumiere protested. "You're... Different."
"Call it whatever you'd like." Gwen waved her hand and put on her cloak. "If you'd like, join me and escape the guards. Otherwise, you'd go back to the torture of the world."
Lily grabbed her spear, tossed Gwen a golden sword that she saw her use, packed a bag of snacks, and put on a black night hat that she always wore. "I'm coming along." Lily comforted. "The school didn't leave us with any choice but bring us there and to stay there. Lumiere?"
Lumiere simply looked at Gwen. "Are you sure you want a life of sadness instead of a life of happiness?" Gwen nodded.
"At least it gave me a life worth fighting for." Gwen shrugged. "Are you coming or not?"
Lumiere finally gave in and reached into the closet. She found a bow and some arrows, a few pictures, and the dagger Gwen always wanted her to use. She took the dagger and pictures, and left the bow and arrows.
"Take them." Gwen pointed to the bow and arrows. "I'll teach you how to use them."
Lumiere sighed and grabbed them. Gwen smiled.
"Now, let's try and escape your fairy tale."
Once they were walking outside, ready to face whatever came for them, Lumiere thought of a question to keep the ride interesting.
"What about your fairy tale?"
Gwen stopped in her tracks, surprised that anyone cared, but angry that someone mentioned it. Her fairy tale was a hunter who hunted for her.
"What?" She asked quietly, turning around towards Lumiere.
"What about your fairy tale?" Lumiere asked again.
"What about it?" Gwen continued walking, but she was doing it backwards. "It's gone. Tried to search for me, but failed. So, it's gone." Gwen suddenly stopped. "Don't move, don't make a sound. Something's here."
After a few minutes of waiting, Gwen continued walking.
"We'll rest there." Gwen pointed ahead of them. "I'll get some food."
"Be safe!" Lumiere called after her.
"I'll try!" Gwen said.
"No promises..." She mumbled under her breath.
