“Could you have targeted a smaller ship? I mean look at this thing, its barely 40 square feet, and only two rooms!” Dyna sneered.
“Well excuse me! Our ship was falling apart, I had to choose fast or else we would have been dead for sure.” Thepor looked outside the window at their old ship, “Poor bastards. I hate to do this when there are more than three people aboard.”
Becquerel clapped Thepor on the back, “But you saved our skins mate, it’s either them or us out here.” Bec then sauntered over and slouched in a nearby chair.
“Well, we should get a new one as soon as possible, this one looks a little iffy. I could try to repair it, but I don’t think we should bother.”
“I’m sorry, its hard to find ships nowadays without the Capital’s seal. And most of those aren’t in very good condition.” Thepor said.
Bec laughed, “No need to be sorry, mate. It’s not too bad.” He said indicating the ship, “We only offed a couple of traders anyways. We’ve got some more important cargo.”
“How is she doing by the way? She still all... you know.” Dyna asked. Bec sighed.
“I haven’t checked on her since we boarded, but last I saw she was still stuck in her strange glowy... ness. I guess I can go see her if that is really what you want.” Dyna stared at him condescendingly, “Fine then.” Bec slowly got up and walked leisurely to the other room.
It was dark, except for a few slits of blindingly bright light coming from the human- sized metal box in the middle of the room. Bec stared at it for a while until his eyes hurt, making sure she was still not moving.
Bec came out rubbing his eyes, “Still as a statue. Hasn’t said a word. Unless you want to shoot her again just to make sure? Waste all of our Time ammo? No? Alright then.” Bec sat back down and closed his eyes.
“You are a piece of work, Bec. How do you even stand being around you all the time?” Dyna said while checking their coordinates.
“Oh it’s not that hard. I just have to listen to you running your mouth all the time and I forget how much of a dick I am.” Dyna’s jaw tightend.
Thepor jumped in before they could make any more quips at each other, “Guys, come on, grow up. Dyna, what’s our coordinates?”
Dyna took a deep breath to compose herself “Sector G-27, alpha quadrant I believe. There are no planets for lightyears.” She looked back at the screen and furrowed her brow. “But there are some strange energy signatures coming our way. Hold on, let me see if I can get a closer look-” She zoomed in and rotated the screen.
Her eyes widened. “Guys, its and ion field! And its coming up fast! Put on your suits now! Don’t just sit there Bec, move!” She pushed Bec out of his chair, and the three scrambled to their packs to get their EPS’s (energy protection suits)
“Hold on to something!” Thepor screamed
“We’re coming up on it in three... two... one!”
the room filled with white and they knew no more.
“Ugh, are you guys okay?” Thepor said, groaning from his splitting headache.
“I’m fine.” Dyna said
“Just great.” Bec echoed.
“Moving alright?”
“Yes.”
“Roger.”
They all slumped on the floor, exhausted.
Then they heard the sound of bending metal
“Bec” Dyna said.
“Yes?” Bec swallowed.
“You didn’t secure her in the EPF(energy protection field) did you?”
“No.”
The door flew off its hinges.
A white, floated towards them.
“You know, there is a reason Time guns are illegal now. But I guess I should be thankful you’re all a bunch of thieving IDIOTS!” she screamed. She waved her hand and the three were frozen where they lay.
“Oh its good to get out of that dreadful little box. You are so lucky I feel quite generous today and have decided to let you live. For now.”
She lifted her hand and brought the three towards her, “But when I’m done with you, you will have wished you had never crossed paths with me.”
She slammed them down on the ground and floated over to the controls. “Time to let the universe know I’m out of my little nap.”
She touched the controls, and the ship jumped to the Capital planet. She looked over it hungrily. “Ooooh, very nice!” She looked over at her armada of beautiful Capital ships.
Time to watch the rebels burn.
She touched the control boards again, sending signals out to the other ships that she was back, but to keep it secret. They responded with enthusiasm. She grinned, her people were happy to have her back.
And she was happy to be back.
She felt more energy surge through her body as she got closer to home. The many ships paid no attention to her, making sure her secret was kept.
One of the larger armada ships opened one of its vacuums to receive her. She felt a strong sense of pride, It was good to be home.
When they finally docked, the doors opened to find all her people surrounding her, No words were spoken, the overwhelming emotions surged through and made her stronger.
My people! I have returned. It pains me to tell you all that your beloved Queen, my mother, is dead. You have been kept in the dark about this to keep you in line, in the hopes she may still be alive. Not to mention, my disappearance as well. Well, I am here to put these rumors to rest. The other races have lied to you. We cannot be content in our colonies with the fear of revolution. We will never find all the opposition. So instead, we must destroy them!
They all cheered audibly. Sound was only reserved for either talking to lesser beings or emotions too powerful to hold back. She revelled in it. Then she held up her hand, and all was silenced
IF there are still some out there who doubt my plan, listen closely to this.
My captors would have had me killed had I not been so young. So long ago... They killed my mother in front of me, and they still expected that I could be taught different. They locked me away in a timeless state, looking for the right conditions to hold me back to “teach” me. One of the filthy thieves found out what ship I was on. They took me in my capsule as contraband. They figured I could be used as a weapon to sell. An ion energy field came, and I combined with the powers of time and awoke from my slumber.
50 years I have been in that capsule it seems. I have much to catch up on. The Capital is a joke among the others, looking for their queen and princess who are dead and missing. I learned this from the minds of my thieves aboard this ship.
But I am here now, and I will bring us back to our shining glory! We will wipe all the others out.
I will be your new Queen! I will blaze the path to victory!
Her ears were deafened by the sound of her people. She turned to one of the guards, “Take the three inside and take them to the prisoners quarters. I have some very special plans for them.” The guard grinned and went inside to fetch them with a few drones.
The Queen looked out over the throngs of the Patney people. They were bloodthirsty and willing to serve. Oh did she have some delightful plans.
“This is not good, this is not good. We have to get out of here! Are you sure-”
“Thepor! SHUT UP. There is no way out. We’ve looked already, if there was a way we would have found it by now.” Dyna said, leaning against the white, smooth wall.
“There’s got to be a door or something.”
“The Patney don’t use doors, they can teleport, genius.”
All the walls were exactly the same. The floor and ceiling were too. It was a perfectly cubical room, the gravity could be changed at any time there to mess with them. All the walls sloped into each other smoothly. There was no way out.
“Maybe we can jump one, make them teleport us back.”
“They would just teleport out of our grip dumbass. God you are such an idiot.”
Becquerel was laying on the floor, thinking, “Maybe we should just...”
“What?” Dyna said.
“End it here.”
A pause, “What do you mean?”
“Oh don’t play stupid Dyna, she is going to torture us, play with us and keep us alive. She’ll make us beg for mercy for what we did to her, and what we tried to do. It would be better if we just killed ourselves now.
The group fell silent. They didn’t look at each other, they knew Bec was right.
“How though?” Thepor said.
“We could just, I don’t know, strangle each other?” The words came haltingly, almost embarrassed.
“I guess there’s nothing else we can do. They took all our weapons. Theres nothing in here that would kill us. I suppose it’s a better way to go than what I’m sure we have in store.” Dyna said.
“Well...” Bec started to say, but he tried again to think of what do do.
Suddenly a voice came on the intercom, they all shivered at the voice they all knew who it was.
“So early to start thinking of suicide. I’m disappointed. I was almost sure you would at least wait to see what I have planned. It’s really very inconsiderate.
“Aaaanywho, I just thought I would let you know before you strangled yourselves that I have changed my mind about keeping you all here.
whoever is the last man standing, I will let go. I will not try to pursue them in any way, shape or form. But you have to be alive, and the other two dead.
Oh, don’t act so surprised. You actually gave me the idea! This saves me a lot of dirty work, and such a great idea to pay you back. You were going to strangle each other anyways, so really, I’m just making it more interesting. Happy hunting!” The intercom went dead.
They looked at each other in horror. They knew it was their own fault that this was their fate.
The Queen put the intercom back in its shoot, surveying one of the many prisoner video feeds.
This is so much fun! I really missed this. The Queen said.
Her new chief advisor responded enthusiastically, We missed it too, all your subjects are very excited about this new entertainment.
Yes, I can imagine. I’m guessing the league banned this sort of thing?
Yes, they are quite insufferable.
Well we won’t have to worry about them anymore. Soon they won’t matter that much. It will all be a distant memory when I’m through with it.
We have missed you.
She smiled genuinely at the advisor, And I have missed you all too!
