Twisted Tales: Sleeping Beauty:

          Long ago, before the heroes and heroines, and indoor plumbing there was a kingdom at the foot of a mighty mountain with a forest surrounding it. The King and Queen were blessed with a beautiful girl whose name was Susan. As the years went on, they discovered something externally unique about their daughter. It started to happen when she was about nine or ten years old. When she was awake she become a dragon. Not the cute, little pink and friendly dragons you see in cartoons, but a furious, half grown , black scaly fire breathing, razor tooth dragon. The kingdom was being terrorized by not a monster but their beloved princess Susan. All looked gloom and lost. That is until a wizard and his apprentice witch whose  names where Riku and Kari. The King and Queen begged the great wizard to put a spell of some kind on their daughter Susan, just until they found a cure for her. Riku agreed to this.

            They both worked very hard on this potion for a whole two weeks. Over that time the Princess continued to destroy other parts of the kingdom, chaos and destruction fell upon the King's land and all he could do was really nothing, waiting. The potion was complete and Riku and Kari and approached the king “ Your Majesty, we have complete our potion is a powerful sleeping potion that will keep your daughter dormant for a long fifty years.” Riku bowed and motioned for  Kari to bring the potion forward and gives it to him. Interested the King's eyes widen by curiosity  and looks to his lovely Queen's respond, she nods in approval, “Very well wizard Riku you have our approval of this” nodding soulfully, voice filled with confidence, but eyes filled with sorrow.

            As the dragon Susan continued he r rampage, Riku and Kari had to figure a solution t o lure the princess towards the forest. Kari runs ahead of where Susan is knocking stables over, “Yea, you dragon breath OVER HERE!”  as she picks up a decent sized rock and chucks it at her snout, misses and hits her face in stead. Looking down toward where Kari is, her eyes filled with anger, she starts to chase Kari. With fire at her heels Kari bolts towards the forest and towards here mentor. Meeting up with Riku and hearing Susan knocking down trees and the earsplitting, heart stopping, and very painful roar. Riku's voice couldn't be heard as Susan crashes into trees and faces them both. Quickly Riku attempts to create a energy cage to secure Susan, but it failed due to his lack of  energy. Taking out a  sword's sheath with the bottle tied to it he throws it to Kari “ here take this, and when I say throw  it you throw it understood” nodding, Kari looks into the dragon's devilish eyes, seeing her bloody, crimson, eyes and glaring at her throat all she could see was the fire building up inside. Frozen in fear as Susan opens her open reveling their faiths to come, Kari just stands there “KARI THROW IT!” Riku shouted, but she couldn't move. Susan fully extended her jaws as fire be to spit out, Kari was in a trace, closing her eyes, and imagining her options carefully... “KARI LOOK OUT!!” it was Riku's voice that brought her back to what was happening, finally untying the potion this time she waits just a little more... seeing her opening, she throws the potion directly into the beastly princess's jaws. Susan had not time as it hits her throat and starts to breath smoke instead of the fire, “Night night princess” remarked Kari grinning, but Susan just shakes it off and snaps at Kari, dodging she yells at Riku “ She's still awake the potion didn't work, what now?!”, “Uh just run further into the forest she'll follow you!” smiling and somewhat laughing at this.

            In the thickest of the forest “What, no fire this time lizard!” taunting, but unfortunately for Kari, she didn't see the large tree root and falls over, to unconscious. Morning in pain, Kari remembers her situation by feeling Susan's wrenched breath and staring into her eyes as if they belonged to a demon itself. Susan takes a lunged for Kari but something happens. The beast suddenly stops, surprised Kari moves around her snout and realizes that she has fallen asleep, sighing in relief she steps and couple of meters away from the dragon as she turns back into the princess that her people know and love. “Ah I see that the potion worked.” spoke Riku from the shadow of a oak tree, “yeah too bad it took a lot longer for her to get the effect of it” she remarked glaring at Riku, who just shrugs and picks Susan up and walk back to the kingdom.

            The king saw his young daughter, sleeping peacefully, “Thank you wizard Riku , you and your apprentice may live here in the kingdom as a reward for this deed.” Riku and Kari bow “We will be honored.” they said in unison. Riku and Kari lives in the kingdom, as the kingdom lived in peacefully again now that their dragon princess laid in her slumber.

            It's been 7 years since the Great Riku and his apprentice witch Kari placed a sleeping potion upon the young Princess Susan. Now Kari is part master, but still has much to learn. Kari was wondering the kingdom grounds, and heard a commotion. Following the sound's source, she comes to find a large crowd of villagers, curious she approach, the crowd. There was a boy to be about her age of 18, combed back dark brown hair, on a tan and white horse, Kari thought the horse was very pretty unlike it's owner. All Kari could hear was the villagers rumors “They say he's a prince, looking for a princess.”, another said that “He's a monster hunter or a knight here to kill some beast” the one that really got her attention was when this stranger spoke “I'm here to see your King”. Outraged she approached him “Excuse me, what is your reason to see his Majesty?”, startled he hops off his horse and bows, looking for any guards, which she finds two and whistles for them giving them their orders “Yes young court witch!” , “And tell the King that his has company.” as Kari and the strange visitor went towards the kingdom.

            At the castle, the King didn't look very amused, when Kari brought the stranger to his throne room “What is the meaning of this Witch Kari!”, quickly wincing but recovers “This stranger wishes to speak with his Majesty”, bowing, the stranger steps forward and bows as well “Your Grace I'm Prince Phillip, from the kingdom over the great seas and mountains, has come and seek Princess Susan the Gentle’s hand.”. Hearing his daughter's name again brought back terrible memories to the King. “You are too late, for she has been under a spell for 7 years, and still slumbers” with a stern voice “Very well then I shall awaken her from her slumber!” declared Phillip as he runs out of the throne room. Looking worried Kari and the King exchange looks “Go follow him, and do whatever you can to prevent him from waking her up” he order as Kari dashes out.

            Finding the fresh horse tracks “Darn it, now how am I going to catch up to him now?” then an idea hit her “RIKU!” as a magistracy white stag-elk runs up to her and kneels, “Lets go Riku, follow the trail!”. Running as fast as the wind towards the village.  In the village, some of the villagers explain to her that he was heading towards Cavern of the Dragon, to wake the princess, “Why must a prince kiss a princess, that is externally stupid, but so typical of men in this century” she scorned.

            Arriving at the mouth of the Cavern of the Dragon, , facing what appears to look like a mouth of a dragon “well here we go Riku, doesn't this bring back memories” she spoke with anger and continued on into the cavern sprinting. Kari told Riku to stay where he was and she continued holding her empty sword sheath close, dashing into the darkness. After coming out of the tunnel, she could see the princess, still in-cased in her crystallized coffin, with no prince Phillip in sight “He's not here?” questioning herself. Walking towards towards the coffin, seeing Susan, now 17 , still peacefully in her slumber. All of a sudden an arrow hits her right leg, wincing in pain, she wipes her head towards her attacker, to find herself looking at Phillip, reloading another arrow “WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS PHILLIP!” Kari spat,  “YOUR THE REASON WHY SHE'S IN THAT STATE AREN'T YOU!” his voice was filled with rage, but Kari only looked away from him and took out her sword sheath “bring it on little prince”. Slashing down the prince’s sword was deflected by her sheath “Just me how to open the coffin!”,  “Why do you want to know so badly, you don't even know why she is in there in the first place!, basically dancing with sword and sheath, hearing the weapons echoing in the cavern. Phillip decided to hit low this row and knees Kari in the stomach, falling to the ground Kari feels cold steel to her throat “Tell me how to open it now or die by my blade, witch!” he roared “I rather die then to do that”, “Very well”as Phillip raises the weapon and slashes down- but something stops him. Riku the elk-stag charges in, antlers down and fights with Phillip, he jumps out of the way , but takes a slash into Riku's side “MASTER RIKU!”  Kari screams and pushes Phillip out of the way and whispers to Riku “I'm going to have to break the spell, I'm terribly sorry”, as she performs a healing spell on Riku's wound . The room shakes, as the coffin's door opens as Phillip bends to Susan's and kisses her cold lips “NO, YOU FOOL!

            As Kari cried that out Susan's long dormant eyes flashed open, at first they were soft blue eyes, and a smile that could make the sun shine, turn into yellow slighted lizard, and teeth sharper then a magalondon's, her skin burned into an oozing molting color red and black scales, with a spiked tail and wings about 20 feet wide and 10 feet tall, “now look have you done, now run!” as she gets on newly healed Riku and grabs Phillip, and gallops out of the cavern. As they headed for the kingdom Kari explains to Phillip everything that happened 7 years ago. “Really?, you mean that you can't make another potion?!” shaking her head,” Only Master Riku knows the ingredients and currently he's an elk-stag” “speaking of which how did Master Riku turn the elk-stag?” he asked cautiously “Oh well lets just say a spell went wrong” she explained and Riku picked up the pace by lot to a sprint.

            Finally back at the throne room Kari explains the situation to the King “very well, Kari you know what you have to do” he said solemnly. Dashing off to her work shop/ room the prince finally asks Kari on what was on his mind “what do you have to do?” “Oh I have to kill the Princess now”, she spoke bluntly. Throwing books, and other stuff “what are you looking for ?” Phillip asked, dodging 2 more scrolls, “An  enchanting book that Master Riku gave to me when I was younger....a ha here we are” pulling out a little purple, beaten up book. Flipping though pages for a couple of moments, then stopping and skimming over, then shutting the book  and pushing Phillip out of the room. For a couple of hours really 2 hours, all Phillip could hear was spells, and metal being hit. Finally Kari comes out, covered in filth “We ready, let's go” Phillip notices that the sword sheath is now looking a lot more heavy then he remembered. “LET'S GO KILL A DRAGON PRINCESS!” they said in unison

            Meeting up with Riku and the horse, they ride off to face Susan and end this nightmare once and for all. Phillip and Kari could hear the villagers screaming in panic, as Susan circled over their heads. “get her attention.” ordered Kari, as Phillip shoots two arrows into her wings. Roaring in pain, Susan dives towards them, with fangs bearing, running for their lives, heading into the forest. With luck Susan will follow them, but is flying above them.  “I think she's remembers what happened last time.” suddenly Kari and Riku stop and turn towards Phillip “shoot her with two more arrows.”. As Phillip shoot Susan in the other wing she spirals uncountable, Susan crashes into a group of trees only 30 meters away from them,  in pain in confusing, Kari and Phillip cautiously rush towards the dazed dragon. Susan appeared to be unconscious, but as they got at least 5 meters towards her. Susan flash opens her eyes and attacks them. Phillip's horse bucks and runs off with Phillip on. Riku purposely bucks Kari off into the air as Kari takes her newly enchanting sword, she stabs Susan in the back and runs along from her spine to her back to tail. Susan falls to the ground looking at the deep wound, victory was finally theirs, she finds Phillip stuck in a tree and they head back home to tell the people of the kingdom the tragic yet joyous news.
