One day, like on any other, The Collector came home with a new addition in his hands. A limited edition posable figurine of a famous singer. She had a white outfit, and long, blue or green, twin ponytails. The Collector had always enjoyed her music, and he thought that the figurine would be a nice thing to have, so he sat down at his desk and he took a small knife and cut the tape holding the box shut. He opened the box and pulled out the figurine. Cute and small, like any other figurine, it was very nicely and finely detailed. Since it was posable, he gave the figurine a nice posture, like a well-time photograph. Once the figurine was properly posed, it was then placed on the shelf. Perfect. Satisfied with his work, The Collector then left his room, and his collection on his many shelves. After a few long moments, the figurine moved, as it had come alive. She stretched her arms up and yawned before looking around at her new surroundings.
She glanced at all of the many shelves and decided that she would take a closer look at a rather enticing model car. She stepped off her little pedestal and walked along the edge of the shelf, as other knick-knacks, models, and figurines began to move about as well. Suddenly she reached the edge of the shelf and stopped, waving her arms for balance. As she stopped moving, she breathed a small sigh of relief. Now, all she had to do was think of a way down. She turned around and saw a robot-looking thing holding a yo-yo. She snapped her finger as she had an idea. She placed the robot at the edge of the shelf and made sure it held the yo-yo while she slid down on the string until she was at the same shelf level with the car.
The car however, was on a shelf on the other side of the room. Then, she felt some taps on her shoulder. She turned and was faced with a figure bigger than she was. It was a figure of a man who wore an orange outfit, and had an interesting head of hair that was yellow and pointed upward. He appeared to be similar to her in manufacturing material. He offered to carry her over to the car. She accepted and held onto his arms. He jumped off the shelf and flew over to the car and set her down. She wave to him and he flew back to the other side of the room to have a fight with another figure. Finally, she had found her car, with a lot of other cool cars next to it.
But now, there was another problem. While the car was good looking, up close however, it was too small for her to fit in. But then, the bigger car next to it, honked its horn and she glanced at it. It wasn't as good looking, but it was from the same company. She opened the door and slid into the driver seat. She put her foot on the gas and the car drove off the shelf and onto the floor. It was a little out of control at first, but she got the hang of it. She drove around the floor as other cars joined in on the action and before she knew it, a little race had begun.
After a while, the knick-knacks began to move back to their exact positions on their shelves, as The Collector was returning. The man with the yellow hair helped the girl get back to her pedestal on the shelf and they all froze just how they were left and The Collector walked back into the room. He glanced around, then sat back at his desk, with more boxes in hand. He opened them and removed the contents. More things. He added them to his collection in appropriate places on his shelves, as each shelf was themed. Then, the girl noticed that the shelf she was placed on was rather empty. Once everything was placed, The Collector left, leaving the girl to hope that he would find and add some friends for her. She decided that tomorrow, she would take a closer look at her box to see if there were others like her.
2: A Journey for New ThingsThe next day, the girl watched as The Collector left once again. Having no similar figurines with her on her shelf, she decided to take a closer look at her box, thanking The Collector, for not throwing it away. She climbed down the shelves and made her way across the floor to the desk. With some string she found the night before, she made her way up the side of the desk. After a long and exhausting climb to the top, she caught her breath and hurried over to her box, looking at all its sides. She only found pictures of herself along with information about her. Having found nothing of any sort of use, she pushed the box over in the hopes of finding anything inside. She walked around her former prison to the open end and inside she found some wrappings and tape. She dug through the trash until she found a small pamphlet. She opened it and saw not only herself but some others who she assumed were associated with her, since they were all in the same little booklet. She thought for a moment, and decided that she would hold onto the pamphlet, hoping The Collector would notice.
Later, when he did come back, she was holding the pamphlet she had found as she watched from her frozen stance. The Collector noticed that her box had moved, so he looked toward her curiously. He came over to her, picking her up and taking the book from her hands and he looked at it. A moment later, he turned away, but then noticed that he was still holding her. He shrugged slightly and put her in his shirt pocket. She watched as she left the room into another room and then outside to the biggest car she had ever seen. He climbed in, sat down, started the car, and drove of with her in his pocket. She rode for a while until he stopped at a building. He walked inside and she watched as he passed shelves full of many interesting things, some of which she wanted, but he didn't stop. He kept walking until he came to a shelf. She glanced out of his pocket until she saw them. The others. The Collector grabbed one of each and walked back toward from the front. She watched with wonder as he carried the boxes of her friends. In exchange for keeping her friends, The Collector gave the other one some green-coloured paper.
She felt so happy that she would now have friends on the shelf with her. He carried them back to his car. She stared at the boxes of the others for the entire ride home, back to the room. The Collector placed her on his desk and she watched with great excitement and happiness as he opened their boxes, the same way he must have opened hers. She watched as the girl with the yellowish hair and blue eyes was brought out and placed on her pedestal. Then, came the boy who looked like her with the same yellowish hair and blue eyes. They were placed together. Then, came the taller girl. She had long, pink hair and an outfit that was black with gold decorations and trim on it. He then placed them on the shelf together. They were posed and placed together.
Later, when The Collector left, they all came alive. She was so happy to finally have some friends to be on the shelf with. Others came by to meet them, bust most did as they usually do. The boy went down to the nine-colour puzzle cube that was solving itself, and shuffled its sides. The girl who looked like him laughed. The taller girl just watched with a smile, occasionally waving to another figurine as they passed by. Now that she had her friends, she smiled and joined in on the fun, jumping back toward her car and racing some of the other cars. Then, her new friends jumped onto a car to race as well. All the figurines and knick-knacks had fun for hours until The Collector came back much later. Everyone resumed their positions back on their shelves as he opened the door to the room. He glanced around, finding nothing out of the ordinary. Then he left the room, closing the door behind him.
