The woman was breathing heavily, running away through the seemingly endless hallways. Being chased by something surely evil, by what specifically however, she knew not. Running as the smooth, yet dark voice echoed throughout the halls, from all sides of her very being.
"London Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down. London bridge is falling down, my fair lady."
The voice closing in on her, she mustered every available spark of energy she could dare gather from her very soul, she saw an intersection in the halls, and banked right, only to have seemingly omnipotent voice sill hovering in the air.
"Build it up with wood and clay, wood and clay, wood and clay. Build it up with wood and clay, my fair lady."
She screamed as the horrific voice shrouded in darkness continued to engulf her.
"Wood and clay will wash away, wash away, wash away. Wood and clay will wash away, my fair lady."
She ran on, until she came across a door, a possible exit. She tempted the knob, only to despair in dismay as it was locked. She yelled in rage and fear and tried to kick the door open, hoping it would give way.
"Build it up with bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar, bricks and mortar. Build it up with bricks and mortar, my fair lady."
She looked down the hallway, as the voice became more concentrated to a focus, in which was the shadowed figure of a top-hatted man. Eyes glowing with hatred, evil, and shrouded intentions.
"Bricks and mortar will not stay, will not stay, will not stay. Bricks and mortar will not stay, my fair lady."
She yelled out in a cry of fear and gave up on the door, running in an attempt to lose her pursuer.
"Build it up with iron and steel, iron and steel, iron and steel. Build it up with iron and steel, my fair lady."
The woman continued to run until she came across what appeared to be glass windows. Not thinking, she began to beat the tapered glass until it began to crack under her force and eventually broke away to reveal nothing but more darkness. No sounds of anything, no sight of London. Nothing but darkness and evil shadows.
"Iron and steel will bend and bow, bend and bow, bend and bow. Iron and steel will bend and bow, my fair lady."
Her hands bloody, she continued on running. The only source of colour in the blackness of evil that was engulfing her very existence was the newly-made trail of blood from her self-inflicted wounds in her hands.
"Build it up with silver and gold, silver and gold, silver and gold. Build it up with silver and gold, my fair lady."
As she ran, she hoped that she would eventually find the perfect chance to escape. She could only pray that said chance was only a matter of time, before it was to be found by her.
"Silver and gold will be stolen away, stolen away, stolen away. Silver and gold will be stolen away, My fair lady."
As she continued to run, she began to figure that judging by the lack of anything but darkness, she knew that any exit was never to be there where she had hoped.
"Set a man to watch all night, Watch all night, watch all night. Set a man to watch all night, My fair lady."
Again, she continued to run, surely her stamina was reaching its limit, then she could flee no longer. But she came across a room full of pillars. Instinctively without thinking, she ran and hid behind the nearest of these pillars, resting against the cold marble.
"Suppose the man should fall asleep, Fall asleep, fall asleep, Suppose the man should fall asleep? My fair lady."
Suddenly, she felt the dark pursuer behind her. Out of energy, frozen with fear, she could do nothing as this figure of evil brought his hand through her, the bleak, black marble staining rich, red crimson of blood. Her life faded, as she fell, staining her very being crimson, before ending in what had begun to feel like an inferno.
"Give him a pipe to smoke all night, Smoke all night, smoke all night, Give him a pipe to smoke all night, My fair lady."
