"No, the blue one will do."
"Oh, come on, Mummy! I want the red one! I swear it is awesome!"
"Honey, it is way too expensive and that rotten fabric can easily tear. You know quite well we brought only two thousand dollars with us."
"But, Mummy, silk is the best!"
"Not this one. I can feel it. Quite bullshit, I know it. No, honey, not another word. We are not buying it."
And with that, Mrs. Blake turned to the jewellery counter.
Ella groaned. Why couldn't her mother just get her that pretty pink silk? No, she insisted on that stupid rayon dress.. Teen girls are too irresposible to have their choices, as was her Mummy's verdict.
That dress had such an icy look that Ella literally froze when she saw it. She hated such a blue!
"Honey, do you like gold earrings?" Her mother's voice stopped her thoughts.
"Pure gold?!" grinned Ella.
"Nah, artificial."
She groaned again. "I will take silver."
"Alright, I have got a nice piece of artificial silver jewellery here. Try it on, would you?" Ella looked at the beautiful necklace and earrings.
"It is pretty, right?" asked her mother.
"Yes. Better than stupid rayon at least."
"Sweetheart, that's too irresponsible. Be quiet and try it. Now."
The stern look on her mother's face made Ella sweep up the jewellery and try it on. Well, it was pretty enough for her.
"Wow, you look beautiful, honey," remarked her mother. "Why don't you have a look in the mirror, hmm?"
"Of course," Ella mumbled thoughtlessly.y
