Tales of before

I was once an ordinary girl, a girl with an ordinary family and two parents, but it all changed on the night of my tenth birthday.

My parents were asleep while I watched the sky. There wasn't a moon but the stars were still pretty. There was something nagging at me, some kind of feeling, but I didn't know what it was.

Soon enough, I felt something weird, something that didn't feel right. I became scared and ran to my parents room. As reached my parents room, I heard a chuckle.

"You won't make it," a voice said. It sounded like a girl, much older than me. There was something dark about the way they voice spoke, like there was something about to happen.

I grew more scared when I felt light headed. I blinked to clear the drossiness. When I opened my eyes though, I wasn't in control of my body.

"Mommy! Daddy!" a voice cried, scared as it opened the door.

My mothers voice came to me. "Windy?"

"What's wrong dear?" my father asked.

"I'm scared!"

No! It's not me!

"Do you want to come sleep with us?" Mother asked.

"No... I don't want to sleep with mommy and daddy..." Suddenly, the voice turned dark. "I want you to die."

"W-what?" Mother sounded scared now.

Run! Please Run!

"Sweetie," he said, "That's not something to say-"

"But I'm not playing around, daddy. I do want you to die."

Before anyone could figure out what they were doing, the sound of a chainsaw could be heard. I didn't hear anything after that, only the sounds of screaming and the sounds of reving.

When I opened my eyes, I screamed.

My parents were dead, I don't remember much about them other than the gapping wounds and the amount of blood on my hands. Near them was a chainsaw, covered in blood and other things. As I started to cry, I heard a voice in my head.

Aren't you happy now? They're gone now, I saved you from them.

"They didn't do anything to me!" I cried. "They loved me!"

No they didn't. They hated your guts, they didn't want you. There was a sound, almost like static in my head now.

"Shut up!" I covered my ears to block out the noise of her and the static. I also shut my eyes. "Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!"

No, you need to, because he's here.

"W... What?"

Open your eyes.

When I opened my eyes, the static got worse as I saw a man, dressed in all black. I got more scared because he didn't have a face.

"W-who are you?" I asked. The voice finally went silent but the static did not.

He only held out his hand to me. From behind him, strange shadow tentacles came from behind.

Once again, I didn't have control of my body and my hand found his.

A/N

Hey, this my first one and it was kind of rushed. I will try to add more. Bye!

2: Arial Dee, Detective Extrondiare
Arial Dee, Detective Extrondiare

"Get the hell back here!!"

My name is, Arial Dee, and, I'm a detective.

bang!

"I said get back here!!"

Actually, I work for the FBI.

Punch!

And right now, I'm chasing a jackass down who thinks he can get away from me.

I grabbed the back of his shirt and slammed him against the brick wall close to me. He let out a gurgle before falling down to the ground, unconscious.

"You know, Arial, that's not good to knock out the guy we need," my partner said.

"Yeah well," I said, "he pissed me off."

"Whatever Arial. The boss wants us back."

"Got it." I took out some handcuffs and slapped them hard on the guys wrists. He groaned in response. "You're looking at a few hours of bullshit mixed with a jail time of bitch years."

"That... doesn't... make any sense..."

"Screw you, I'm pissed!"

3: First Impressions
First Impressions

There was a pounding my head that wouldn’t go away. I was already curled up into a tight ball to try to get rid of the pain. It didn’t help the fact that I could hear voices.

“What the fuck do you mean get out?!” It sounded like a boy. The voice that responded sounded like a girl.

“I said get out because she needs to sleep!!”

“She doesn’t need to sleep when Slender’s out!!”

“Guys stop arguing, it’ll only make her headache worse.”

“He needs to get out so someone can change her.”

“Fine! I’m fucking leaving!!” There was the sound of a door slamming, causing a spike in my pain. I whimpered and held my head in pain. Something cold was placed on my head and the pain faded enough for me to open my eyes.

There was one girl, who looked like she was a few years older than me, and another girl who looked like she was my age, maybe even a little younger. The older one had long black hair and a pair of purple headphones hung from her neck. There was something weird about her skin, but I couldn’t quite place it. Her eyes seemed to be dull, but bright at the same time. They were blue, and looking at them made me want to  go back to sleep. The little girl had long auburn like hair and wore a pink dress. Her eyes seemed like the older ones, except that she had green eyes and didn’t make me want to sleep. In her arms was a brown teddy bear. It looked really fluffy.

“Are you okay?” The little girl asked. I nodded a little.

“You should try to sleep as best you can. You’ll get used to Slender’s… effects… soon enough.” I got confused. Who was Slender? And where was I? The older girl placed something cold on my forehead. “Sleep. All will be explained soon enough.” Her voice was so soothing I wanted to sleep forever…

💝💝💝

I woke up and it was late at night. There weren’t any lights on and the curtains were in front of the windows. I stumbled out of the bed, and I went to open the curtains, only the lights flickered on. And there was a strange man in the middle of the room. He was tall with long arms and a very nice suit on. Then I looked up and almost screamed. He had no face and his skin was pure white. I couldn’t look for long, though, because just looking at him brought my headache back. He spoke, and he spoke with more than one voice like a demon.

“Do not be afraid. I will bring you no harm.”

“W-where am I? W-who are you?”

“My name is Slenderman. You are in my mansion.”

“B-but why?” I was scared and confused. I didn’t know what was going on at all… “W-where’s my parents??”

“Your parents are dead. They were killed by a ghost named Carleta.”

“W-what? G-ghost?”

“Yes. Ghost.” I started to cry. I felt my tears be wiped away.

“Do not cry.”

“I-I want my mommy… And daddy…”

“They are no longer alive.” I only cried harder. I felt him envelope me in a hug.

“You are no longer normal, Wendy. You cannot get your normal life back. You cannot get your family back. But,” He knelt down in front of me. “we can be your new family.” I sniffled a bit.

“W-what do you mean?”

“We are known as “The Creepypastas.” We are the Creepypasta family. You can be in that family.”

“W-what’s a Creepypasta?”

“We are what goes bump in the night. We are the monsters under the bed. We are what makes you afraid. We are nightmares.”

“I-I-I d-don’t want t-to scare anyone though.”

“You do not have to. Sally usually doesn’t either. I believe that you have met her already.”

“Sally?”

“Yes. She is the youngest Creepypasta, the one with the bear.” Oh wait, I remember her. She seemed really nice… But who was the other girl with her?

“Then who was the other girl with Sally?”

“The other girl is known as Melody. She arrived here not too long ago.”

“Oh… Where are they now?”

“Sally is probably playing with Melody or by herself. If Melody isn’t with Sally, she’s out killing.”

“W-what?” Killing????

“Yes.”

“... P-people kill here?”

“Most everyone. Sally does not, however. I suggest you get acquainted with her.”

“... Can you take me to her? Please?”

“Of course. Follow me.” He somehow walked out of the room without really walking, like his feet weren’t touching the ground. He seemed to slide along. I shuddered, but followed him.

“My mansion is expansive, but soon you will be able to find any room you want to find.”

“How many people live here?”

“Many. Some of them aren’t people, like myself. Which reminds me, I need to give you a warning.” He turned towards me, and despite his lack of eyes I could feel his piercing stare. “There is a creature here, called ‘Rake.’ Stay away from him at all costs.”

“.... Why?”

“He is not used to your presence, and he hates children. Should he find you, he would tear you to shreds. If you find yourself in that situation, call for me. I’ll keep him away from you until he is used to you.”

“O-okay…” He turned back around and walked towards one room out of what seemed like thousands.

“This is Sally’s room.” I hesitated. How did he know when it looked like every other door?

“Go on inside.” I opened the door slowly. The inside of the room was all pink with play clothes and dolls scattered about on the floor. There was a large white table in the middle of the room with four identical pattern chairs seated around it. In one of the chairs, the girl- Sally- was sitting. I didn’t see Melody, so I figured she was… “Out”.

“Hello? Oh, hey! You’re the new girl, right?” I nodded silently.

“My name’s Sally! What’s yours?”

“... Wendy… Wendy Valencia.”

“Hi Wendy! You wanna play dolls with me?”

“... Okay.” I looked around. “Um, where do I sit?”

“Here!” She pointed to one of the chairs. I sat down in it and she sat in the chair next to me.

“So how do I play?”

“Just enjoy the tea party! I’ll get more guests!”

“O-okay. Wait, who else?”

“Definitely Charlie, but I’m not sure who else. Do you want to invite someone?”

“I-I don’t really know anyone else here…”

“That’s okay! I can show them to you!” She went to a toy box and got out several dolls. Some were video game characters, and some were just dolls. But they all had something in common. They all seemed alive somehow.

And they were all covered in blood.

“W-why are they covered in blood?”

“Sometimes they’re naughty and fight each other. Sometimes they go out and hurt people. They do it so often, that I’ve given up on bathing them.” She said this so calmly, like it was an everyday occurrence for dolls to come to life. I shuddered. “So who should we invite?”

“W-won’t they hurt me if I don’t invite them?

“Of course not! They’re very well behaved! Most of the time, anyway.”

“Oh. O-okay.” I looked at them. “...Tails.”

“Great choice, he’s already really nice and polite. We can invite someone else next time!”

“O-okay.” She picked up the Tails doll and put it in the last chair. When she sat down, the Tails doll started to move. On its own. My heart pounded in my chest.

“I’ll go get the tea!” She said cheerfully. She walked out, and I wanted to yell at her to not leave me alone. Not with these dolls. The Tails doll turned to me and I flinched out of fear.

“You’re new.” It said. I nodded.

“M-my name’s Wendy…”

“I’m Tails Doll. Don’t call me Tails, though. I hate that.”

“O-okay… Tails Doll.”

“You seem nice, but cowardly. How did Slender let you in here?”

“H-he said that a ghost killed my parents…”

“Are you that ghost?”

“W-what????”

“Simple question, really. But unless you are the ghost, I don’t understand how you could possibly be here.”

“I-I don’t know… I-I don’t remember much from that night…”

“Odd.” Sally walked back into the room with a tray, a teapot, four teacups, and a sugar pot. We started to play, which was really fun. But then I got hungry.

“Could you show me where the kitchen is?”

“Yep! Tails Doll, can you stay here?”

“Sure.”

“Come on, Wendy!” She ran off and I ran after her. Soon we came upon the kitchen. There was someone in there. A boy with a white hoodie. He looked to be about 16, but it was hard to tell because his face was pure white. He also had a big, bloody smile painted on his face. It looked so real. As we got closer, I realized with horror that it was real. This boy had a smile carved in his face. I hid behind Sally a bit as we walked up to him.

“Hey, it’s the new girl. I was wondering when she would finally wake up.”

“Just leave her alone, Jeff!” Sally shouted. ‘Jeff’ laughed.

“Don’t be so overprotective! If she really is one of us, then I won’t kill her.” I guess the mansion really was full of murderers...

“I wasn’t talking about that. We both know that Father would kill you if you tried to hurt her. I was talking about your stupid pranks! Don’t do anything!”

“How about this? I’ll whatever the hell I want. Slender won’t kill me for a couple of spiders in a pillowcase.” He walked out and I sighed with relief. He gave me the chills.

“Who was that?” I asked Sally.

“Jeff. Ignore him. He annoys everyone.”

“Oh…” I looked around the kitchen. I wanted to make something from scratch, like my mother used to make with me. I wished I had her cookbook…

“What are you looking for?” Sally asked. I thought for a moment.

“Flour… sugar… and… erm…”

“I know where the flour and sugar is. But not that last one.”

“I-I was thinking… I don’t know what else it takes to make cakes from scratch…”

“Oh! I know a recipe! Splendorman taught me! I’ll help you!”

“Really?”

“Yeah! Come on!” We started to cook after she helped gather the ingredients. After we put the cake in the oven, I felt a chill when there should’ve been warmth. I turned and saw that girl that I had first seen with Sally. Melody, I remembered.

“You’re awake.” She remarked simply. I again noted her blue eyes. It was like looking into ice. I could feel the cold… I shook my head. I was being ridiculous.

“Yep.”

“What are you making?”

“Strawberry cake!” Sally cheered excitedly. Melody smiled, but it didn’t reach her eyes.

“I see.”

“Who did you kill today?” Sally asked.

“A kidnapper. The police should’ve found the body by now.” She said this as if it was no big deal, as if killing someone wasn’t a problem. I guess it wasn’t in this mansion.

“Do you want some cake?” I asked. Sally looked at me worriedly. Did I say something wrong? Something flashed in Melody’s eyes, but it was gone as quickly as it had come.

“No. I guess I should let you know that I can’t taste anything, so I don’t eat.”

“You don’t eat?”

“No. I don’t have to. I’m dead, like Sally.” I looked her in shock. Suddenly I knew what had looked so wrong about her. She looked lifeless, except for her eyes. She looked like a walking corpse. I looked at Sally. She still looked so alive, had I not been told she was dead I would’ve never figured it out.

“I know what you’re thinking. Why are we so different? Sally’s a child. She died young and full of life and joy. That’s why she doesn’t seem dead. I had depression when I died, and came back only for revenge.”

“O-oh…” The oven dinged, signaling that the cake was done. I put on the oven mits and got the cake out. “Is there any food coloring here?”

“Yeah! But I can’t reach it…” Sally said.

“I can.” Melody said. She reached above us to grab a box with several colored bottles. When she handed them to me, I smiled a little.

“Thank you, Melody.” She nodded. I got out a small plastic cup. I put some powdered sugar into it and mixed it with cocoa powder, milk, and the other ingredients. After a bit of mixing, Sally spoke up.

“What are you making?”

“Frosting.”

“You can do that??” I nodded.

“Mom taught me how to cook. She even had this cookbook with a bunch of recipes that you could make from scratch. I wish I actually had it though…”

“Well, where is it? Maybe someone could go get it!”

“I don’t know…”

“Oh. Well we could ask Father! He knows everything!”

“Father?” She nodded happily.

“You’ve already met him! Everyone else calls him Slender or Slendy, but his real name is Slenderman. But he’s Father to me!”

“Oh…” She nodded.

“I’ll go ask!” She ran off before I could stop her. And I was left alone. With Melody. She scared me, but at least she hadn’t tried to hurt me. Yet. The thing that scared me most was that she was silent. I would often turn around, thinking she’d left and she’d be standing there. Staring, with her eyes of ice. Her headphones were on her head, but she wasn’t moving or giving any indication that she was listening to music.

“Do you want me to leave?” I jumped at her sudden voice. I didn’t want to be mean, but I really did want her to leave.

“I-I’m sorry!” I said. “I-it’s just, y-you’re a bit unsettling…” She nodded, like she expected this.

“I understand. I’ll leave you to your business.” She then walked out, leaving me in the kitchen. It was much easier to frost the cake without Melody’s constant stare.

I had been frosting the cake for a while, and was almost done, when I heard the sound of footsteps. They weren’t human, more like a dog’s. I could hear the sound of claws scraping against the wood floor. I shuddered. The sound in itself was terrifying. I turned around to see whatever was coming and came face to face with a horrifying creature. It looked like an old man mixed with a dog. Its skin was all wrinkled and pale, and its eyes were black with no pupils. It looked like it had never been outside before. Its hands were its most horrifying feature. They had eerily long fingers that all ended in sharp claws. The skin on them was darker than the rest of its body. It looked at me with its big, black eyes, studying me. Something was bugging me about it, but what? It crept forward, its claws scraping against the wood floor and it hit me.

Its claws, when fanned out, looked like rakes. Slenderman’s words rang in my mind, There is a creature here, called ‘Rake.’ Stay away from him at all costs. He is not used to your presence, and he hates children. Should he find you, he would tear you to shreds. I began to panic. I didn’t want to die! So I ran.

I heard him growling and chasing me. I ran down the endless hallways, trying to escape. All the while, I could hear Rake behind me. He was gaining on me. His growling and scraping of his claws were getting louder. It was then I remembered that Slenderman told me to call for him if Rake found me. I cursed myself for not saving my breath, but I yelled anyway.

“Help! Someone! Anyone!” I shouted. My voice wasn’t very loud, and I was panting hard. I then heard barking and more sounds of claws scraping against the wood.

Oh no! Not another one! I’m going to die! I shouldn’t have sent Melody off, I shouldn’t have let Sally go! I’m an idiot! The claw sounds stopped suddenly and I heard more barking and growling. I turned around to see an orange dog fighting Rake. Rake began to scratch and claw at the dog, while the dog bit down on its shoulder. This went on for a bit, until Rake tore away and ran off. I fell to the ground and began panting again. The dog padded to me and nuzzled me with its muzzle. I petted it as I caught my breath. I stood up and patted the dog’s head. It looked up at me and I almost screamed. The dog was smiling. A big, wide smile with human teeth. This was terrifying, but it did save me, so I guessed it wasn’t a bad dog.

I wanted to go back to the kitchen, but because of the chase I’d gotten lost. I wandered around for a while with the smiling dog following, but I couldn’t find my way back. I started to get frustrated when I heard laughing behind me. I turned around and saw a clown dressed in black and white stripes. The dog barked happily and walked up to him, his tail wagging. The clown petted the dog before turning to me, still slightly giggling.

“So you’re the new girl! Slendy told us about you!”

“H-huh?”

“My name’s Laughing Jack! Don’t forget it!” At the word ‘forget’ his giggling ceased for just a second. It returned so fast, that it might have just been my imagination.

“O-okay…”

“And I see you’ve already met Smile Dog.”

“What an appropriate name…” He laughed. “U-uh, c-could you show me the kitchen? I was making a cake and I still need to frost it…”

“Sure! I love cake!”

“T-thank you.” He walked off while Smile Dog stayed with me. I followed him at what I decided was a safe distance. Slenderman only said to be wary of Rake, but I wondered if something else would try to hurt me. Soon enough we made it back to the kitchen, where Sally was waiting.

“Where did you go?” She asked. I told her what happened with ‘Rake’. “Oh… That does happen.”

“It does?” She nodded.

“He came after me when I first got here. But because I’m a ghost, he just went right through me. He was so mad.”

“Oh…” She nodded again.

“It took a while for him to get used to me. It will probably take longer for him to get used to you, though, because you’re alive. Try not to be alone.”

“Okay. I get it.” I kicked myself mentally again for sending Melody away. I would definitely stay around others from now on. I walked over to the cake to make sure it was still okay, which it was, so I took the chocolate frosting and put some on it. By the time I finished, I heard laughing again. I guess Laughing Jack was still here…

“That’s some cake, missy.”

“Er, thanks?” He grinned at me, which made me shiver. I finished frosting the cake and put it on the table.

“Ooh! It looks so yummy!” Sally praised. I smiled. She seemed to be the only normal one here. Besides the dolls… But then again there were a lot of others here…

“Nice cake, but I doubt it will feed everyone.” Jack said.

“I’m sure it will be fine! Most people won’t eat it anyways.” Sally said.

“W-wait, how many people are here?” Jack began counting on his fingers before giving up. I did notice that he passed twenty.

“Not exactly sure. But I know that Masky and Hoodie probably won’t eat it because they only like cheesecake, Melody won’t eat because she can’t taste, obviously Rake will be held at bay, Sally’s dolls can’t eat, Slendy only eats souls, Eyeless Jack prefers kidneys, BEN might eat, that depends on how much he trusts you.”

“Who’s Ben?”

“He’s my brother!” Sally said.

“In a way. They’re not technically related.” Jack said. “He’s the ghost of a child that was drowned. He put his soul inside a video game. He can only come out in the mansion.”

“Oh…” That made me a bit sad. “How many people here are dead?”

“A lot. About half and half actually. Jeff is alive, Smile Dog is alive, Eyeless Jack is alive, Dillon is alive, oh try to avoid him if you can, Bloody Painter is alive-”

“Wait.” I said, cutting him off. “Who’s Dillon?”

“He’s a dog that was possessed and he killed his owners.”

“Why?”

“Did I forget to say he was possessed?”

“No, I just don’t understand what he was possessed by.”

“Sometimes there are wandering evil spirits.”

“Oh…” He nodded, continuing to laugh. It was like he was unable to stop. I looked at my cake. I didn’t really feel hungry right now… I felt another chill behind me and turned around to see Slenderman.

“Father! Are you going to make dinner?”

“Yes. Wendy, what do you like to eat? Since you’re new, I’ll make something I know you’ll like.”

“Well, I do like spaghetti.”

“Then I’ll make that. Jack, call the others for dinner.” He said this as tentacles grew from his back and began grabbing things from different cabinets.

“Yes sir!”

“Father? Can I just have cake tonight?”

“You’ll get bored of cake if that’s all you eat.” Sally pouted, but nodded.

“Come on Wendy! We can play until dinner is done!”

“O-okay.” I wasn’t that excited about playing with the dolls again, but I was more afraid of what Sally might do if I refused. She was in this house of murderers for a reason…

I played with Sally and Tails Doll until Jack came in to inform us that dinner was ready. We left the room and followed him into the kitchen. There were a lot of people in the room, but luckily no sign of Rake. I sighed in relief. I sat at the table and ate with some others.
