Introducing the Candidates 

Introducing: Echo Knight

Let’s just say that I’m not the nicest person in the world but I’m certainly not the meanest one either. I try my best to hide who I truly am because I think people won’t accept that part of me, but sometimes I feel like there are two personalities inside me fighting each other on who wants to be the dominant one. I have learned how to control and repress most of the conflict inside me. Unfortunately it takes a lot out of me because I am not powerful enough, but a few extra spells and potions every now and then always does the trick.  

My name is Echo Knight and both of my parents were killed in front of me. I couldn’t even do anything to help them. The one thing I remember that night is hiding under the floor while I saw my Mom and Dad get decapitated. Most of the time when a child is a newborn their power is at the most powerful stage and when they experience a powerful emotion their powers will be uncontrollable, but for me nothing happened. I think I was in shock because I just sat there under the wooden floors with my mind blank and tears were coming out my eyes before I even realized it. In the end I just stared off into space. Until the next day I woke up in an unfamiliar room.   

Introducing: Rosemary Elegante

I want to be the best Queen our world has ever had! But my Father is always keeping me inside the kingdom so I sneak out of our kingdom to go talk to the people outside our walls, Of course I have a disguise on so that they won’t feel pressured about talking to the Princess but one day I hope I can talk to them face to face without having to hide who I really am. 

My name is Rosemary Elegante and when I was a baby my mother died. I don’t know what exactly happened to her since I was just 5 months old when she died. They told me someone killed her and they don’t know who it was but I knew that she was dead and that they were telling the truth. Mothers are connected to their children that when the other dies they feel the last emotion the person felt. I almost destroyed our world when I was a baby since I had no idea how to control my power. My father ended up taking it away until I was 2 years old and had to start school already. I remember that feeling up to now; that terror inside her and all the sadness that she felt but when she was killed they told me she had a smile on her face. So I try to focus on that fact instead of what I remembered from being a five month old baby. I learned to always have a smile on my face, they told me that my Mother had the brightest smile in the kingdom. I hope one day when I become the Queen of our kingdom I’ll be just like her!  

Introducing: Pyre Saxon 

I’m not royal blood at all. But when I was a baby my father found me in a burning house and he saved me. I became a part of their kingdom because my mother couldn’t have her own children. I didn’t have any powers in me and the cause of it was unknown, but I got my powers because my Knight decided to sacrifice his own and gave it to me, now he only uses his skills to protect me.

My name is Pyre Saxon and when I was a baby there was a fire in my house and the King heroically came to save his citizens, but when he was gathering the citizens he heard my cry, he followed the sound and found a baby in a house. He told me my family was dead and that they were burned, but I felt like they were killed in a different way and that for some reason I was the cause of why all the citizens' homes were burned down. Up till now I’m doing my best not to disappoint my Father and Mother for taking me in their beautiful castle. Then again sometimes I have the urge to find out what happened to my real family but that’s okay! I’ll know someday when the time comes.

2: Chapter one: Welcome to Earth

Chapter one: Welcome to Earth

Saturday 10:00 P.M.

“Rosemary, Pyre, and Echo are the three chosen ones. They must all go to Earth and whoever gathers the most crystal hearts will be the next Queen of Mahou No Sekai.” The Queen said and looked at the three girls.

“I will each give you your wand and you shall have a transformation once you’re about to collect the crystal hearts or when you want to transform.” The Queen said as she walked towards Rosemary and blessed her with a kiss on the forehead and soon a crystal green wand appeared in front of her.

“This wand will help you collect the crystal hearts, travel back in time, cast some spells, create potions, and help you with the challenges you will face, but remember if you decide to use a forbidden spell or potion you must ask permission from the masters. “ The Queen said and motioned to Pyre and Echo.

Echo’s family is the one in charge of spells and since Echo is the Queen of her kingdom she had to master spells real quick. Pyre’s family is in charge of potions and they made her the master in making potions since she’s a Princess but she still has a lot to learn.

“Those rules apply to you girls as well if you will mess with something you can’t control.  You must ask permission.” Queen Meilleure added.

“Thank you Queen Meilleure.” Rosemary said and bowed down. Queen Meilleure smiled and moved on to Pyre.

She blessed Pyre with a kiss on her forehead as well and a bow and arrow appeared in front of her.

“This Bow and Arrow will be used to catch the crystal heart when you aim for it.. If you have more than one crystal heart kiss the tip of the arrow, shoot the arrow up in the air and the arrow will collect all the hearts that are meant for you.” Queen Meilleure explained.

No one ever really got a bow and arrow before so she had to explain what it can do. Then Queen Meilleure looked at Echo and turned a bit pale.

Echo was called the Queen of Misfortune, Pyre was called the Princess of Miracle, and Rosemary was called the Princess of Mahou No Sekai. I mean who could compete right? Rosemary is practically declared as the rightful ruler of Mahou No Sekai and Pyre was loved since she was a miracle to the Saxon family. 

Queen Meilleure got near Echo and took her hand and placed a kiss on her forehead.  Seconds later a staff appeared in front of her and on top was a dragon's claw holding a black crystal ball. After that appeared Queen Meilleure tapped the crystal and the color changed to light blue. She gave Echo a soft smile. 

    Queen Meilleure has always been fair to everyone and saw the best in them.  They said she was a bit of a troublemaker when she was younger. During her competition against Vanilla Mieux had lost but Vanilla gave up her right and passed it on the Queen Meilleure. This eventually led to the Ogre world and Mahou No Sekai coming together because Queen Meillure was in a relationship with the Ogre Prince, Pierre. 

“Now that the three of them have their wand they are ready to go back to Earth. Good luck girls.” Queen Meilleure said and winked at them with a smile. Everyone clapped and the girls went back to their rooms to wait for their call.

“We’re finally going to Earth!” Pyre said and added, “I want to see what we look like when we transform!”

“Wanna try it? We can, just don’t do any spells yet, just do the transformation.” Rosemary asked and Pyre nodded.

She took out her bow and arrow, kissed the head and everything changed. Her long red hair was tied in a side ponytail, medium cut boots appeared, one long glove appeared on her right hand, and a medium length red dress appeared with a detailed pattern on the top of the dress. 

Pyre smiled and yelled, “OH SO PRETTY!!!” As she bounced up and down her side ponytail had streaks of fire appearing on them every time she was in the air.

The other two girls were mesmerized by the transformation that Rosemary yelled, “OMG!!! I wanna try it out too.” She stood up and got ready for her transformation.

Then she brought out her wand and kissed the crystal on top of her wand, winked, and soon she was wrapped by colorful petals, her long green hair grew longer until it almost touched the ground, good thing it was braided with some flowers on it, then a medium length pastel rainbow dress appeared along with a brown boot that went up to her ankle.

“Cool! So colorful!” Pyre said with a big smile on her face.

“Do your transformation too Echo!!!” Rosemary and Pyre both yelled and looked at Echo.

“Do I have too? I just want to take a nap until midnight comes.” Echo complained and Rosemary said, “No come on just this once since Pyre and I already did it, it’s your turn.”

“Fine...” Echo gave in without a fight since she was also secretly excited to see what she would look like. 

She got her staff out and spun it around and said something in a different language the other two had never heard of and then she was surrounded by a dark purple bubble. When she stepped out her blue hair had turned white, and it looked like the bubble had turned into a long black off shoulder dress that exposed her legs, plus she was barefoot. 

The three of them looked at each other and Pyre said, “Well you’re fancy.”  The look scared Echo because it was so different from her friends but she just let out a slight chuckle. 

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, they looked at the clock and it was almost 12. 

They opened the door and saw Robert who was Rockin Robin’s son by the way.  After all this time he showed up on Rockin Robin’s door and asked to be trained as a Guard. He is a regular wizard who specializes in sword fighting. He gained the position to be the girls’ Guardian during their trip on earth. 

“Time to-” Robert said and saw the girls in their transformed look and asked, “What are you girls doing?”

“Uh...Checking out our new look…” The three girls said and laughed awkwardly.

Robert shook his head and just said, “Come on let’s go.”

The 4 of them went to the bridge at the end of the world, it was the portal to travel between worlds, all they had to do was jump and fly towards the Moon. The portal only opens every 6 months and is at its strongest at 12 a.m. There are other ways to travel from Earth to back or back to Earth, but it requires a lot of strength. 

“Okay before we go. Let me go over of some the rules again: 

1. No one can know you are witches.

2. Stay away from the shadows, ogres are very dangerous without a ruler. 

3. You can’t travel back here unless you get permission or else you will be disqualified. 

4. And finally the rule you can’t use your magic for personal gain- is off the table. 

Understand?” 

“Yes Robert!” The girls said. “Can we go now?” Rosemary said ready to jump off. Robert faced them and jumped back, “Last one’s a rotten egg!” The girls cheered and jumped.

3: Chapter two: Two boys and a little girl

Chapter two: Two boys and a little girl

Once they jumped off they fell like shooting stars. “ROBERT WHY CAN’T WE FLY!!!”

“AHHHH ROBERT HELP US!!!!!” Pyre yelled as loud as she could and Robert threw 3 leaves underneath the girls that grew bigger than normal size. The girls were cocooned but soon popped out. They were laughing with tears in their eyes, “that was so fun!” Echo said and sat on the leaf properly. 

“AM I THE ONLY ONE WHOSE WORRIED THAT WE CAN’T FLY?” Pyre yelled again. Robert started flying towards a building and the leaves followed, “In our world, everyone can fly just as easily as walking, but on Earth the atmosphere is a little different so you guys have to re-learn it a little bit.” They landed on a roof with a purple house.  

“This is your new house. It used to be Queen Meilleure and Vanilla Mieux during the queen candidacy. Go inside and check it out but before I leave here,” Robert snapped his fingers and a pendant appeared around each of the girl’s neck. “Make sure you have this with you at all times or else you won’t be able to collect the hearts.” 

The girls looked at their necklace and said, “Thank you Robert. Have a good night.”

“I'll be back tomorrow. Welcome to Earth girls.” Robert said and left. The girls looked at each other and ran inside. 

Saturday 1:00 A.M.

“WOW…” Was the only words the girls could say.

“I’ma go check out my room!” Echo said and ran to a room with the letter E in front of it, once she entered she saw the beautiful room. The ceiling was pitch black with stars on the ceiling shining bright, the whole room was, you can see the constellations but the walls were like the ocean, while the floor was just wood with a rug in the center, the whole room was just plain perfect for her.

Pyre also saw her room and her eyes shimmered and were full of joy. The ceiling had the image of her whole kingdom and the majestic creatures that lived around her palace, once she saw it, it was like she was home again. Her walls were covered with beautiful paintings of her world's history, she could see every event that was romantic, devastating, along with the most memorable events in their world, her floor had the picture of a phoenix. Pyre loves her kingdom especially when she learns something new.

As for Rosemary her room was like the forest. It was full of images with unique flowers and her room had a small garden on the corner where the sun shone on it. Her room was so warm and it felt so comfortable that you just wanted to sleep in there forever. Her room was just like her. Warm and unique.  

When they were done looking at their rooms they went to the living room.

“My room is amazing! It’s perfect for me.” Rosemary said.

Pyre agreed and said, “Robert really did a good job with making the rooms perfect for us. My potion books were in there too.”

“I can’t believe he had time to fix this house. I thought he was so busy with his commercial shoot, concerts, and collecting crystal hearts.” Echo said and added, “My books were there too along.” 

“There were a few herbs from the magical world in my room but they also put the time travelling books in there. I haaaate studying time travel it fries my brain,” 

    “Well you’re the only one whose more advanced than the both of us so keep up the good work,” Echo said. 

“Yenno Robert is just like Rockin Robin. I heard that he became famous because Robin forced him to do a photoshoot,” Pyre said while looking through the kitchen. It was already filled with snacks and drinks. 

“Anyways let’s talk tomorrow it’s already 1 in the morning we better get some sleep if we’re going to see the town.” Echo said and headed to her room. 

They all agreed and went to sleep.

The Next Day~

Saturday 10:00 A.M.

*Ring!!!* Their alarm clocks went on and the girls woke up right away. They took their stuff and got ready for the morning and when they were done they went in the kitchen. 

Rosemary asked, “Who’s making breakfast?” And looked at Echo.

“What? You mean me? Why?” Echo said surprised.

“Because you can do the spell much better than us. So it means that the food will taste better.” Pyre said.

Pyre and Rosemary looked at Echo smiling while Echo gave them the death stare but still went in the kitchen and conjured up 3 meals.

“Ok food is ready! I didn’t know what you wanted so I just got us some fruits” Echo yelled, sat down and ate her breakfast.

“So plain you should have gotten something more extravagant and delicious.” Pyre said as she sat down on one of the chairs and started eating.

“If you want something better then conjure it up yourself.” Echo said and Rosemary just sat down and started eating her breakfast.

“We need to go buy some ingredients for food and get some money. Food on Earth could be different. We need to learn how to cook them too” Rosemary said while she ate half of her breakfast already.

“Hi girls.” Robert appeared all of a sudden and sat on the couch.

“Robert can you give us some money? We need to buy some stuff for the house.” Echo asked.

“Good morning to you too,” Robert said and added, “and yea I can give you each $100, that should be enough for each of you.” Then he got out his cash and gave it to them.

“Thanks!” The girls said and put their plates in the sink and said, “Bye Robert we're going out and will be back later.”

12:30 PM 

Eventually the girls reached the town and ended up at the amusement park.

“Uh….What is this place?” Pyre asked as her head turned from left to right and around the place.

The girls have never been to an amusement park before since they’ve been busy with work and the only place they went to are house parties. And they were mostly the host of those parties. The magical world is an amusement park itself but this place was new for them. 

“CHLOE WHERE ARE YOU?!” A guy suddenly yelled right in front of the girls, which made them jump a bit, “Have you seen this little girl?” He asked and showed them a picture. 

“No sorry, but can you tell us what this place is?” Rosemary asked.

The guy looked at them weirdly thinking: How can someone not know what an amusement park is?

“Um.. excuse me? What do you mean?” 

“This place what do you call it? A park?” Rosemary asked. 

“This is an amusement park. You just walk around, try out what you want or go on rides. It’s fun,” He explained.

“We’ve never been to an amusement park before, actually we’ve never been anywhere before since we stayed at home all the---” Pyre was cut off when Echo hit her in the arm and said, “I don’t think he needs to learn about our life Pyre.”

“Anyways just look around and have fun. The games usually require money so I don’t know if you can try anything if you don’t have money. I have to go now good luck and bye.” The guy said and walked away yelling, “Chloe.”

“What shall we do?” Pyre said and looked at her friends.

“Let’s get that pink looking cloud thing,” Rosemary said and Echo agreed.

So they bought the pink looking cloud thing and found out that it was called cotton candy. It looked like the clouds they had in the magic world but this one was edible. 

“This is great! But it sure melts fast,” Pyre said and kept on stuffing her mouth with more cotton candy.

“Big sister? Can you please help me I can’t find big brother,” A little girl said with tears in her eyes and looked up to Echo. Echo stared at her and bent down and asked, “Are you Chloe?”

“Yes! Do you know where my big brother is?” Chloe asked and started crying.

“Uh…Please stop crying we’ll help you find him!” Echo said freaking out a little bit.

Rosemary and Pyre laughed at Echo. She was never very good at dealing with people who cry. 

“Chloe, can you stop crying now, we promise we’ll find your big brother okay?”  Rosemary said and softly smiled at her like what the Queen did to them for reassurance. Chloe stopped crying and nodded.

Echo walked towards one of the workers and asked, “Mister can you please help us? We need to announce that we found Chloe so that her brother can know and ask him if he can come to the front of the amusement park.”

The guy looked at her and said, “Um okay hol--Chloe?! What are you doing here your brother has been looking for you for hours.”

“Oh perfect you know her. Can you please call her brother?” Echo asked again and the guy said, “Sure.” So he called Chloe’s older brother and said, “Okay he’s coming he said. I’m Nick by the way what’s your name?”

“I’m Echo, that’s Rosemary and Pyre.”

“Nice to meet you.” Nick said and sat next to Echo and looked at Rosemary play with Chloe.

After a few minutes~ (More like 10 minutes)

“Chloe!” The older brother yelled and hugged her little sister but after she did, he pinched her cheeks and asked, “Didn’t I tell you not to go far?! What would I do if you got taken?”

Chloe cried and said, “I’m sorry big brother but I wanted some cotton candy…”

He sighed and looked at the girls, “Thanks for finding my little sister. I’m Jeremy.”

“Nice to meet you Jeremy!” Pyre said and shook his hand.

“Um How can I thank you?” He asked but before the girls could answer he got a paper and pen out and wrote down his phone number and said, “Okay if you ever need someone to show you around town just call me. I’ll come and bring Nick along with me.” He had remembered that the girls did not even know what an amusement park was, so he thought showing them around would be the perfect thing. 

“Really thanks, can you come out tomorrow?” Pyre asked and added, “We need to check out the school we're going to and we don’t know where it is.”

“Oh then what school are you going to?” Jeremy asked.

“Uh...Alice Academy I think?” Rosemary said

“Hey that’s the school we go to” Nick said.

“Great then we can use you two as our tour guide,” Echo said, “We need to get cell phones I guess?”

“Oh yeah okay, we’ll call you later Jeremy bye bye,” Pyre said and then the girls left.

As they walked off the shadows were already buzzing. “Did you see that! We found her. She’s alive. Ahahaha the master will be so happy,” A soft whisper in the shadow said and soon was starting to disappear until the only thing left was a pair of striking gold eyes that eventually faded as well.   

“BIG BROTHER DID YOU SEE THAT!!!” Chloe yelled and started crying. 

“Wh- What happened?? Stop crying Chloe. Look I’m sorry I lost you for a bit okay?” Jeremy hugged his little sister and said goodbye to Nick. “I’ll see you tomorrow.” Nick nodded at him and went back to work.

Introducing: James (Echo) 20 

    Ever since I was born James was there for me, he knows exactly what happened to me and blames himself for leaving me alone on the day my parents were killed. We were childhood friends. His parents were my family’s Royal Guard and he was training to become one as well. When we grew up I appointed him as my personal Guard but ever since that day he barely left my side and became overprotective. James is my right hand man, he doesn’t know it but to me, he’s the most important person in the world. His powers are pretty much a little bit of everything, all the Knight’s possess a little bit of everything, they can never fully master one element but he’s still very useful to me. He’s the one who trains me in combat and sword fighting but when it comes to magic training I beat him each time. 

Introducing: Timothy (Rosemary) 20

    Timothy has been with me ever since I was born, he knows my family really well and my family knows his family. The day my mother died he was in the same room as me, he was watching over the Princess of the kingdom he lives in, therefore when I started crying and releasing a strong energy he panicked and quickly decided to take my powers away so that I wouldn't destroy the whole kingdom. He kept my powers until I was 2 years old so he knows how powerful I can be. He held my powers on my Father’s order so that I wouldn’t cause havoc on our people. Timothy didn’t abuse his position or take advantage of the powers he had and because of his valiant act they made him my Knight. Everyone in my Kingdom thanked him and my Father favored him so now he’s pretty much my Knight forever. 

Introducing: Chris (Pyre) 21

    Chris is best! He gave up all his Fire power so that I can have it all, so in return my family made him my knight. Even though he doesn’t have his powers he’s very good at combat, sword, and just about any sort of fighting. He’s honestly the best! I don't know what else to say because he’s indescribable. Sometimes though he’s pretty mean to me and treats me like a child.  I wish he would treat me as an equal to him because I don’t even have Royal blood in me.

5: Chapter three: So it Begins

Chapter three: So it Begins 

1:30 PM 

At the supermarket~ 

After a short adventure in the Amusement park the girls found the supermarket. It was really busy, it was full of people and it was really loud. 

     “Tell me again why we’re buying things when we rarely cook for real and can conjure up the ingredients?” Echo asked, Pyre and Rosemary saw her point and Pyre said, 

“Should we just find a place to buy a phone then or conjure that up as well?” 

“Or ask Robert for one?” Rosemary said.

The girls smiled and all said, “ask Robert.” 

“Buuut in order to fit in the human world we have to learn their ways. Let’s get a few things for us to try out,” Rosemary said and started walking around the aisles. “Fiiiine.” The other two agreed. They spent most of the time looking for things that looked similar to the fruits and vegetables in the Magic world. Everything was pretty much the same except they didn’t have many of the things they had in the magical world. 

They went home by 4:00, it took them a long time to find their house. They kept getting distracted by the other shops. When they finally got home they found Robert in the greenhouse practicing his magic. 

“What’s up girls? You’re back so soon.” Robert said letting the things floating in the air drop on the floor. 

“Robert can you get us phones?” Pyre asked and started to pick up the things. 

    “Why do you need a phone? You can contact me by mind,” Robert said and also started to pick up some of the things. 

“We know but we can’t do that with human friends now can we?” Rosemary said looking at the plants and giving life to the ones dying. 

Rosemary’s family is also an expert with the Earth Element, so anything connected with that element she can control or do something about it. Unlike Echo who is a master at magic spells and Pyre, who mastered potion making, Rosemary’s family is the expert at time travelling. Echo and Pyre only know how to travel a few hours back but Rosemary has gotten as far as 2 days max. 

“Oh right okay here,” Robert said and conjured up three human phones. 

“Thanks Robert!” The girls said and walked out 

It looked weird, it was just one huge screen with a button at the bottom and a bitten apple on back, it could talk but there was no hologram and you couldn’t even bring out the information and touch it physically, it sucked. Magical phones are so much better. 

“Should we put in Jeremey’s phone number?” Pyre said while Echo worked on a spell to download information on how to use every human invention. 

    “Here’s the paper,” Rosemary handed the paper to Pyre and relaxed on the chair when suddenly Echo grabbed her head and whispered a spell. Rosemary gasped and her eyes opened wide, and screamed.

“Ahhhhhhh! ECHO STOP IT HURTS! NO! NO! NO! NO!”  

“Calm down! Just hold on a little bit more” Echo said as she struggled to hold on to Rosemary’s head, there was light on her veins it was as bright as lightning, it passed through her veins to Rosemary’s forehead. After a few seconds she was done and let go of Rosemary. Robert frantically yelled, 

“What’s going on in here?!” Then Rosemary fainted on the couch. “What did you do Echo?” Robert asked. 

“I just entered a few information in her head, of course it’s going to hurt, her brain was expanding,” Echo said looking at Pyre. 

“Hahaha… You don’t have to do that for me Echo…” Pyre said standing up from her chair and backing away, Echo smiled and ran towards Pyre, once she did Pyre ran away screaming, “AHHH NO I’M GOOD PLEASE ECHO NO!!!!” But Echo jumped her and grabbed hold of her head. Pyre was on her back while Echo was on top of her holding Pyre’s head doing the spell. 

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!” Pyre screamed and also fainted from the pain. Echo got off her and wrote down something. 

“Robert can you do the same spell on me?” 

    “Uh sure sit down,” Robert said and looked at the paper. 

“Make sure you clear your mind or else something bad might happen,” He nodded.

Echo sat on the chair and held onto the armrest and took a deep breath and Robert did the spell, after Echo fainted as well. Robert let Echo sleep, he looked at the armrest and it was ripped. 

    “That’s why she didn’t scream…” Robert said nodding. 

Robert got Pyre and put her on the couch next to Rosemary. Then three men appeared in the middle of the room and one said, “What happened here…?” 

“Hi James, Hi Chris, Hi Timothy. Nothing much Echo just made a spell to make them know how to use every human invention in the world,” Robert said in disbelief.  

James is Echo’s knight and is only 3 years older, Chris is Rosemary’s knight and is also 3 years older, Jeremy is Pyre’s knight, he was the one who gave up his power for her, he’s 4 years older. 

“Now that you three are here I’m going to leave, bye~” Robert said and disappeared. 

Then the Knight’s put the girls in their room. 

6:00 PM 

The girls woke up in their bed with their heads still throbbing, they got up because they smelled something good. They saw each other in the hallway, the two glared at Echo but soon Pyre asked, “Is Robert cooking?” 

“I don't know, I just woke up too you know. Robert did the spell on me too so I suffered as well,” Echo rolled her eyes and added, “Go and see what's going on,” Then she went to the bathroom, opened the sink to get a blob of water, after she put the water on her temples and made it move in a circular motion, she closed her eyes and relaxed while doing so, after a minute her headache was gone. When the other two reached the kitchen they saw their Knight’s. 

“Ohhh it's so good to see you.” Pyre said running to Chris for a hug.

“Nice to see you too, tea?” Chris said pouring some in a cup while Pyre clinged on him. As you can imagine Pyre really likes him since she got her powers from him. 

Pyre and the rest of the girls are 17  years old, which makes the Knight’s 20 and 21 years old. 

“James you're here. What happened to Robert?” Echo said and grabbed a cup of coffee.

“You didn't think you’d be coming to Earth without bodyguards did you?” James said and added, “we made you guys some dinner as a welcome party.”  

Timothy went to Rosemary and handed her some tea, “thank you Timothy” then she gave him a hug. 

“No problem, we’re not just here to protect you from evil, we're also here to make sure you're healthy and get everything you need,” Chris said and went back to the kitchen. 

“Well I guess we don’t need to worry about who cooks breakfast,” Echo said smiling and looking at Pyre and Rosemary who also smiled at her. 

“Lazy bone heads.” 

“Is that a way to talk to Princesses?” Pyre said in her Princess voice and when she did Chris played along saying, “My apologies, your highness.” 

“Apology accepted my Knight and shining armor,” Pyre said giggling. 

Then the rest of the 4 said, “Oh get a room!” 

Pyre smiled and Chris went back to cooking. 

“Dinner will be ready in 30 minutes so freshen up.” Chris said to the girls while keeping his eyes on the stove. 

“Okay see you in a bit.” The girls said and took a shower.

In the kitchen~ 

“Dude what was all that flirting?” James whispered while getting close to Timothy and Chris. 

“What flirting?” Chris said pushing away James while chopping up some carrots and cucumbers.

“Oh please we could all see the flirting,” James whispered back in agreement. 

    “Well then you need glasses, dating the princesses are forbidden and against the rules. You don’t see any hearts popping out right?” Chris said with a finger in the air trying to prove that he wasn’t flirting, obviously it didn’t work since Timothy and James just laughed at him. Chris rolled his eyes and started setting up the table.

“Well even if it’s forbidden you were still flirting with her,” Timothy said as he put rice on the plates. 

    “And besides we’re not just their Knights. We’re also their friends, we’ve known them since they were born,” Chris said and put the pork chops on the plate and got the ketchup out of the fridge. Then Timothy added vegetables on the side. 

    “I still wasn’t flirting with Pyre,” Chris continued protesting and put a vase on the middle of the table and Timothy conjured up lavender, yellow with red on the edges, and orange roses. 

Then James put down the spoons and Chris put the forks next to them. 

After that they started making hot and sour soup. 

“I’m pretty sure our life will pay if we act upon our feelings,” Chris said stirring the soup. 

“Yea but hey it's not like we’ll do anything we're just bonding with them until we have to leave them… Which might be in a year,” Chris said sadly. After 10 more minutes they finished making dinner and the girls got out just in time. 

“Smells good,” Pyre said and sat down with a towel wrapped around her head. 

“Heat up the food again would ya Pyre,” Rosemary said and sat down drying her hair with a towel. 

Pyre smiled, “No problem, this is something I can do without any damage.” So she stood up and put her hands together and cracked her knuckles. A smile appeared on her face and fire came out of her palms and heated the food. Luckily the food wasn’t burned, Pyre knew how to get the perfect temperature without burning the food, table, and utensils. 

    While Pyre was working on heating up the food, Echo was drying Rosemary's hair. Echo focused her right hand on Rosemary’s hair and started to move her hand back and forth to make sure she only took the water, after four movements she sent the water straight to the sink. But like I said she didn’t completely take out all the water or else her hair would be super dry and ugly. 

They all sat down and the girls said, “Thanks for the meal James, Chris, and Timothy!” 

The guys smiled and said, “No problem enjoy the food.” 

They all ate and talked for 30 minutes until they had to wash the dishes. The girls sat on the couch and Pyre said, “That was a good meal. I'm so full.” 

    “Me too” The other two agreed and opened the t.v. Just when they did Robert was in it doing an interview. 

Interview~ 

“So Robert tell us what will you be doing this month?” The lady asked him, smiling, and flirting with Robert a bit. 

    “Actually I’m taking a break for a month since I have to take care of 3 teenage girls,” Robert said and looked straight at the camera as if he knew that the girls were watching. 

In the audience the people gasped and the interviewer asked, “You have daughters?!” 

    “What? No it’s just some girls who I’ve known since they were born, I knew their mothers really well so I have to take care of them when they’re here,” Robert laughed about the thought of him having a kid. 

The lady smiled and said, “Well thank goodness you scared all the single ladies out there in the world who supports you.” 

At home~

    “Hahahaha people actually thought he was married and had kids,” Pyre said laughing thinking about what a goofy Father Robert would be. 

“Yea and who knew he was more popular in the human world than the magic world. He must get a lot of hearts,” Rosemary said thinking about how she wants to win all the hearts so that she can be the Queen. 

After a while Robert appeared, “Did you see me on T.V.?” The girls suddenly bursted out laughing and Echo said, “I can’t believe the lady thought you were married and had kids!” 

“I wonder if they’ll still support you if they saw how you act at home…” Chris said, thinking about how annoying and bossy Robert is at home. 

“Of course they love me for how I am,” Robert said confidently and plopped down on the couch. 

“Anyways what are you six gonna do tomorrow?” 

“Well tomorrow is our first day so we have to go to the Human school,” Pyre said. 

Then James said, “yea and we have to enroll ourselves as well.” 

Robert looked at the boys and said, “uh hate to break it to you three but you can’t go to high school anymore. You're 20 years old, you're supposed to go to college.” 

“What?! Then how are we supposed to keep an eye on the Princesses?” Chris asked. 

    “You can’t. You have to do your own work while they’re in school collecting hearts,” Robert explained. 

“No way! That’s going to be boring then.” Chris said. 

“Gather some hearts as well. You boys can be popstars here you have the face. You guys are pretty good at acting.” Robert said and looked at the boys as if he knew that the boys like the girls. 

The boys laughed awkwardly and said, “Ha. Ha. Ha. Yeah sure we’ll think about it.” 

The girls looked confused and said, “You four are weird. We have never seen them act before Robert.” 

“Really? I have, they practically do it everyday,” Robert said and then the boys freaked out and said, “Okay suuuure Robert I think your imagination is getting the best of you.” 

“Anyways besides that, you three were sent here for a different purpose.” Robert pulled out a card. There was a recording from Queen Meilleure. 

    Timothy, James, and Chris welcome to Earth. Now I know you three want to protect our candidates but I have a different mission for you boys. Recently there has been an uprising of Ogres on Earth so we want you to investigate what they are doing there.  We don’t want you to make contact but do observe and see what they could be doing there. Be extra careful you don’t get followed. If they find the Princesses it could be dangerous and the competition may get delayed. Robert will show you where you’ll be staying. Best of luck. 

“We won’t even be staying here?” Chris asked. The idea of ogres roaming around and living in a different house made him anxious. They usually slept in the same castle as their Princess but now they have to live somewhere else. 

    “It’s a safety precaution. If you three get followed while living here the Princess’ won’t have time to escape.” Robert explained. 

“What if the Ogres find us and approach us?” Rosemary asked. 

“Leave and don’t fight back. We don’t know what kind of power they have right now,” Robert answered. 

“I don’t understand why someone still hasn’t taken the initiative to become the ruler. One of them must be the strongest.” Echo said. 

“Uncle Glacier said that there are too many factions fighting against each other that no one can come to one conclusion,” Robert said. Captain Glacier was the head of all the royal guards. He’s Rockin’ Robin’s best friend. Unlike Robin, he doesn’t like the spotlight but there was one incident where Robin dragged him to do a chocolate commercial.  He was able to collect a lot of hearts that time too but he’s more focused on trying to contain most of the Ogres in their own World. 

They all sighed in exasperation. “We’re gonna go out with some people tomorrow. We met them today and it seems like they go to the same school as us,” Pyre said. 

“Make sure you check if they’re human or not,” Robert said and turned the t.v. to a different station. 

“What people?” James asked and sat next to Echo. “Nick and Jeremy were their names. We found Jeremy’s little sister and he wanted to pay us back.” She said. 

“We’ll go with you tomorrow. We need to see if they are human,” Chris said and pushed Pyre aside to sit next to her. 

“Ow but no thanks. You guys have your own mission to focus on.” 

“Yeah we can check them ourselves. All we have to do is make a heart appear right?” Rosemary winked at the girls and smiled. 

“Right.” They said.  

“You girls have a long day tomorrow so rest up after you do some catching up on magic work. Boys come, let's leave the girls alone.” 

They all said their good nights and left the house. 

Robert brought the boys to their own place and settled on the couch once again. 

“So what else did you have to tell us?” James asked Robert. 

“Right. Robin and Uncle Glacier along with Queen Meillieure believe that the Ogres are looking at the girls to become their Queen. It was done to Vanilla Mieux before and now that the candidates are away from all their protection it is easier to get to them.”

“Then why are we living in different quarters. If they are in danger we shou-” 

“We still can’t disrupt the competition. Queen Meilleure doesn’t have a lot of time left and we will need a new ruler by around this time next year. There are still many things you kids don’t know so for now just do as you’re told. It’s for the best of Our World as well as for the girls.” 

With that said Robert left. The Knights did not say anything to each other. There were too many things going on in their head. What did Robert mean when he said Queen Meilleure doesn’t have a lot of time left? Why did the Ogres want a Witch? Couldn’t they find someone else of their kind to rule their Kingdom?  Whatever happened to Pierre? 

Sunday Morning~ 

8:00 A.M. 

Rosemary woke up with the feeling of sunshine on her face. She laid in bed for a little longer thinking about the year to come. She had to go against her best friends in order to get the throne while continuing her studies in magic. 

What if I can’t do it? Just before yesterday my biggest worry was figuring out how to increase my on control time space continuum and today it’s whether I can collect more hearts than Echo, the first Queen to take over her own kingdom at the age of 10, and Pyre, the Princess who goes into battle with her soldiers! Ughhh AND there are Ogres on the loose! 

She got out of bed before she could continue her negative thought process and started getting ready for the day. Rosemary has straight green hair and green eyes. She has curtain bangs, her hair reaches up to her waist, and for some reason her cheeks are always pink. Echo and Pyre make fun of her by saying that she uses a spell but Rosemary swears it’s her natural complexion and that they shouldn’t be jealous. 

Pyre woke up around 10 minutes later. It took her awhile to remember that she was on Earth. Being good enough to join the competition was her time to show her parents that they did not make the wrong choice by taking her in. She had worked hard to climb her position as a general in the Royal army and was looking for the next step she could accomplish. 

    They may have powers of their own but I learned how to make this power mine. I won’t lose so easily against them. I already mastered how to act like a preppy Princess. I’m sure I can win over a few thousand boys.  I can do this!  

So with that in mind Pyre got out of bed and started curling her hair. Pyre has her haircut octopus style with thick wispy bangs. Octopus hair is when the outer layer of the outside hair is cut like a bob and the inside layer is longer. She usually has her hair braided because it makes it easier for her to move around when in combat, but when she has to do her Princess duties she lets her long hair loose to add to her charm. 

Echo woke up around the same time as Pyre but she headed to the bathroom to take a bath and fell asleep again. 

Pyre entered the kitchen and saw that Rosemary was cooking breakfast already. 

    “Jeremy texted me and said that he got permission for us to enter on campus and if it was alright to meet them around 10 at some park called Mount Eden?”

“Can’t they just come get us here? We might get lost if we try to find the park,” Rosemary suggested and gave Pyre omelet and rice. 

    “That’s a good idea,” Pyre shot Jeremy a text and started eating. 

“Echo! Breakfast is ready, come on!” Rosemary hollered and started eating her breakfast. “We need to go around town more often. The only place we know is the grocery shop and the amusement park…” 

    “Do we really know where the amusement park is? We ended up there because we took the wrong train and turns,” Pyre said almost laughing at themselves. 

“Good morning.” Echo said and sat down still trying to wake up. 

    “You should get dressed after this. Jeremy and his friend Nick are coming at 10,” Pyre said looking at her phone. 

        “Here? Are they going to come in here?” 

“I suggested it. It should be fine, it’s not like they are going in our rooms,” Rosemary said. Echo nodded in agreement and started eating. 

    “So how exactly are we going to check if they are Ogres or not?” Pyre asked. 

        “What do you mean? Rosemary said we just have to make their hearts pop up.”

“Oh you guys are serious about that?” Pyre said in shock. 

“I don’t see why not,” Rosemary said, “We can turn it into a competition. Whoever gets the first heart um…”

        “Can be the only one to collect hearts on the first day of school for the entire day,” Echo said and looked up at her friends with a smile. 

The other two thought about it for about 30 seconds until they said, “Deal.” Then they continued eating and looking at their phones to see what is around their area. The boys were about to come in an hour and so Echo finished off her plate and started getting ready. 

Echo has wavy hair parted in the middle which covers the side of her face, and long hair is pretty much a must for them so she has hers at the same length as the other two. She either has her hair loose or tied up in some sort of design, being the Queen of her Kingdom requires her to look presentable at all times. 

    While getting ready Echo thought:

    I shouldn’t worry too much about the competition, I don’t want to be the Queen of Mahou No Sekai. I am just going to take advantage of my free time I have, awaaay from Royal duties by trying out everything the human world has to offer. Keep the competition between Rosemary and Pyre. 

 Finally the doorbell rang and Rosemary opened the door with a smile on her face, “Hi come in.” 

“Excuse us then,” Jeremy said and came in with Nick. They were looking around and thought: How is there a house on top of an apartment building?

“Hi Jeremy, Hi Nick. We’ll go in a bit, we’re just waiting for Echo,” Pyre said while still sitting on the couch. 

“Please take a seat. I’ll go see what’s keeping Echo,” Rosemary said and headed for Echo’s room. 

    “So how’s your sister?” Pyre asked, turning off the t.v. 

“She’s good. She already wants to go back to the amusement park,” Jeremy let out a slight chuckle. 

    “Kids nowadays don’t get shaken up by anything,” Pyre shrugged. 

“Are you guys sisters?” Nick interjected. 

“We’re childhood friends. Sorry for the wait. Are you guys ready to go?” Echo said coming through the hallway. 

 “Oh and you guys live together? Where are your parents then?” He added. Jeremy elbowed him and Nick gave him a look that said what?

“Sorry he’s being so nosy but we can go now,” 

“It’s okay. Our parents are abroad, we’re just here for the year,”  Rosemary said. Then they all started putting on their shoes. 

“How do you two know each other then?” Pyre asked and started walking next to Jeremy. 

“Also childhood friends I guess. We met in middle school,” Jeremy answered. 

“You guys must be close then,” Rosemary said as she walked right next to Nick. Echo was watching the both of them do the talking. She was amused, clearly they already settled on who they wanted to go after. 

“Yep, we have another friend too, we’re kinda like you three,” Nick said while glancing at the side of his eyes. 

“From here you guys have to take bus 5 to get to school,” Jeremy said, “Which should arrive right now.” He added and the bus did pull up. 

“The bus fair is just 1.50 but we forgot to tell you guys to bring some cash… So we’ll pay for it,” Nick said. 

    “It’s okay we have our money with us,” Echo said and went on ahead. She took out her money and was handing it to the bus driver but he told her to put the cash in the machine. Nick ended up showing her how and gave her a smile. She was embarrassed so she went on ahead. A yellow heart appeared. 

Pyre and Rosemary’s jaw dropped open but decided not to tell Echo because well, they didn’t want her to get it first. So they looked at each other and shushed themselves but either way Nick followed her. They were all in the bus and continued talking to each other and ten minutes later they got out at their stop and walked a little longer. 

    “Welcome to Alice Academy,” Nick said and passed through the gates. 

“It’s bigger than I thought it would be,” Echo said and looked around. 

“It’s pretty nice,” Rosemary said and got back to Nick’s side. 

    “Yeah it’s one of the top schools around the area. We have a great program for academics and sports,” Jeremy said and started walking towards the field. 

“Hey yo Marco!” Nick yelled and waved down someone. 

A guy from the field stopped running and waved back. He started running towards them instead, “Hey what’s up guys?”

    “Hey Marco, these are Echo, Rosemary, and Pyre. They’re new around here so we’re giving them a tour,” Jeremy said. 

“Oh nice. If you guys wait a bit I can come with you too,” He said but it seems like Echo and Pyre weren’t paying attention. 

    “What were you doing?” Pyre asked while keeping her eyes on the other players.

“We have extra practice for soccer on the weekends for the new recruits,” Marco answered watching over the team. 

    “Soccer...? How do you play?” Echo asked. Before coming to Earth, Echo had done some reading on a few things she could do for fun that they don’t typically have anything similar to in the Magical world. 

Jeremy was bewildered again and said, “Haha okay where are you girls from? You don’t know what an amusement park is or soccer.” He added a slight chuckle to make his curiosity sound friendlier. 

The two of them broke out of the trance and looked at each other. They haven’t exactly come up with a plan of exactly where they were so they had to think about it for a bit. 

“We were homeschooled and had to focus on studies so we did not have access to televisions or private phones…” Rosemary said wondering if they bought that excuse. 

    “Why don’t we just continue with the tour yeah?” Pyre changed the subject and looked at the boys. 

“Hey everyone continue with the drills I’ll be back in a bit!” Marco yelled and turned back to his friends, “So who's ready for their own personal tour?” 

    “I can show Pyre around any place she might be interested in,” Jeremy offered and looked at Pyre. She smiled at him and said, “Sounds like a plan.”

“I can-” Rosemary was cut off when Nick said, “And I can show Echo around.” 

Echo looked at him suddenly and said, “uh sure.” 

“Guess I’m the lucky one,” Marco said and smiled at Rosemary. She was taken aback and said, “Yeah I guess so.” 

With Pyre and Jeremy~ 

“So what are your hobbies? Anything specific you want to see?” Jeremy asked leading the way inside the building first. 

    Pyre was thinking it was probably a good idea to keep up her training so she wanted to see, “Sword fighting.” 

Jeremy gave her a funny look and repeated, “Sword fighting?” Pyre shrugged and said, “In my family we practiced a few weapon training for self defense. I think it’s important to do something that keeps home close to my heart.” 

Cute. Jeremy thought that the idea of someone who doesn’t know what soccer is wants to keep her home close to her heart, by taking up sword fighting. It was something so sweet and strong.

“Okay, are you guys Mafia?” Jeremy said jokingly with a pink heart appearing.  Suddenly a big smile appeared on Pyre’s face.

    “Sugar, sugar rune Re rune, heart(o), heart(o), piiick up!” Then Pyre drew her bow, closed one eye as if she was winking, and aimed for his heart. *Whoosh!* The arrow got the heart and returned like a boomerang inside Pyre’s pendant.  Pyre looked at her necklace and jumped for joy.  

Her pendant is circular and it has the sun on it. When it opens up there is a crystal heart inside of it. The Ecure goes in to be counted and transferred to the Magical Factory to be turned into energy.  

“Huh…? What just happened?” Jeremy asked, blinking rapidly as if he just snapped out of a hypnotize. 

“Haha you asked if I was mafia. How could you say something so silly,” Pyre playfully slapped his arm and carried on the conversation. 

“Oh...haha...Yeah..” Jeremy laughed awkwardly, “Anyways yeah we have fencing or kendo club after school. Let me show you where, but they might not be here today since they don’t usually need extra training.” Jeremy shaked off the feeling of fogginess and continued the tour with Pyre. 

    “That’s fine, at least I’ll know where to go to check it out tomorrow,” Pyre said and walked on with Jeremy. 

Now to Echo and Nick~

“Do you have the sport called track and field?” Echo asked stoically. 

Nick saw her face and held back a chuckle, “Yeah, I’m actually on the team. Did you want to go check it out?” 

    Echo’s eyes widened and stopped on her track, “Really? Can we go?” A bit of her personality leaked out.  

Nick let out a smile this time, “Sure let’s go, did you want to have a race against?” 

    “Can we really?” Echo asked, acting like a child who has just been told, that they can pick out two snacks to buy at the isle candy. 

“I guess you’ll have to borrow someone’s running shoes,” Nick said and led the way to the track and field track. 

When they got to the track and field there were a few students running a few sets of laps, “Hey what’s going on today?” Nick asked one of his underclassmen managers. 

“Oh hey Nick! It's a make up day for the students who missed a day of training during the week,” They answered. 

“I was wondering if my Friend and I can borrow the track for one sprint race,” Nick motioned to Echo and smiled at the underclassmen. He was so happy that one of the team captains was speaking to him so of course he said yes to Nick. 

He blew his whistle and yelled, “Okay everyone clear the field! There’s going to be a one on one sprint match! Come see how one of the captains does it!” 

Echo started putting on one of the better sneakers she borrowed from one of the students, and Nick started stretching and taking off his jacket. The freshman and sophomore girls started whispering and giggling at the sight.

 Echo was ready and stood next to Nick at the start of the finish line, she added a few stretches here and there before the referee said, “READY, SET, GO” *bang!* The makeshift starter gun  shot in the air. 

Within a matter of 15 seconds the race was over. There was a one second silence before the timer yelled, “AAAAND! TIME! THE CAPTAIN WINS BY A WINNING RECORD OF 14 SECONDS! BEATING ECHO BY ONE SECOND! AND THE CROWD GOEEES WILD!” And so the crowd did. Echo was suddenly blinded after she cheerfully laughs,”*GASP* that… *GASP* was…*GASP* the first time I ever ran!” She wiped the sweat from her chin with her arm and let out the first smile. That Nick has seen, ever had since meeting the boys. 

She opened her eyes and saw a couple of pink hearts. 

    “Sugar, sugar rune, Echo rune! Heart(o), heart(o), come to me!” Echo banged her wand twice and six hearts came rushing in on her necklace. “Thank you!” She yelled, keeping the smile on her face. She couldn’t help herself and collected the Ecures.

Echo’s necklace is shaped like a teardrop and it has the same functions as Pyre’s necklace. It opens and the center of there is a crystal heart that absorbs the Ecures. 

Nick looked down a bit at Echo while scratching the back of his neck, “Haha yeah, don’t worry about it, but for someone who only ran for the first time I can’t believe you almost beat me by a second.” 

    “Haha you were amazing though. I’ve been wanting to run for such a long time, it was probably a lucky chance,” Echo said while they walked to the bench. 

“You should try out for the team. I think it’d be great if you joined,” Nick said and handed Echo a water bottle. 

    “I’ll think about it. It’ll give me the chance to beat your ass,” Echo smirked at him and Nick nodded saying, “okay, okay, why don’t we get on with the tour first. Then we’ll talk about a rematch.” 

“Deal,” Echo said and extended her hand out for a handshake. So Nick agreed and shook her hand.   

Finally to Rosemary and Marco~ 

“So how was it being homeschooled?” Marco said, following Rosemary as she walked ahead a little bit. 

    “It was boring. Aside from Echo and Pyre my only friends were books,” Rosemary said.

“....” Marco was quietly thinking: that is so sad…. He cleared his throat, “Did you want to see the library then?” 

    “No, I think I have had it with books for the time being,”

“What did you want to look at then?” Marco asked and walked right next to Rosemary. 

    “Hmm… Gardening maybe? Or cooking, I’m not very good at cooking,” Rosemary said.

“We have both, but I think the gardening club hasn’t been really active,” Marco said going towards a different direction. 

Rosemary followed him and said, “It’s okay I can start it up again then.” 

“I can show you the kitchen but we usually have home ec. As a class so you’ll be taking that class either way,” Marco said. 

    “So how come you have soccer practice and the other boys don’t?” 

“I mean none of the sports are technically active yet since school starts tomorrow, but some sports and clubs put in a request for extra time to practice,” Then they reached a shed, “This is the tool shed but that’s the garden.” 

    Rosemary looked at the garden and saw that there were more weeds than actual plants, the soil needed some upkeep, and it looked like that there were a few pests around. She laughed and thought that this would be the perfect time for a good challenge. And right at that moment the wind blew. Rosemary saw the opportunity and used a little bit of her Earth powers to bring the flower petals blow up around her hair while she tucks her hair behind her ears and shot a smile at Marco, “Thank you. It’s perfect.” 

    Woooow… She really is beautiful… Marco thought and Rosemary’s plan worked like a charm.  A pink heart appeared. 

    “Sugar, sugar rune, Mary rune! Heart(o), heart(o), pick up!” Rosemary kissed the top of her wand and pointed it towards Marco’s heart as if she was blowing a kiss. Then her lotus pendant opened up and the Ecure went inside the crystal heart. 

    “So did you want to show me where the home ec. Room is?” Rosemary asked while looking up at Marco.

Marco stumbled back a bit and said, “Huh…? Oh yeah! Sure let’s go.” 

They all continued their personal tour until 30 minutes later they went back to the soccer field. 

“Well I have to go back to practice now. It was nice meeting all of you. I hope I see you all again,” Marco said and waved goodbye. 

    “Did you guys want to check out other places or are you pretty beat?” Nick asked. 

“It’s only 11…” Pyre said and started thinking, “Can you guys show us to other places?” 

    “Are you guys hungry then?” Jeremy asked, thinking about where they could go. 

“We just ate an hour ago, how about something else?” Rosemary said. 

    “We could go to the park, or the mall, or the amusement park again?” Nick suggested. 

“The mall. What is the mall?” Pyre asked. 

    The guys hit their foreheads and said, “ok we’re going to the mall.” Rosemary and Pyre giggled and Echo thought: We have to stop asking them about every little thing. 

They all headed to the bus stop again and Nick said, “There are smaller cafes and shopping areas where we can just walk, but the mall is a little farther. It’s a bus and train ride away. Are you girls up for that?” 

“We took the bus and got lost before. That’s how we ended up at the amusement park haha,” Pyre said embarrassed. The other two looked away to avoid making eye contact because clearly they were embarrassed too. The boys bursted out laughing and they couldn’t stop. 

    “Stop laughing at us! This is new for us you know. If you were brought to our place-” Rosemary was cut off when Echo hit her to stop her from talking. 

“We’re sorry it’s just that we never met anyone who barely knows anything about… Well anything but you guys were confident enough to take the bart,” Nick said wiping a tear from his eyes. 

“It’s pretty silly,” Jeremy said and entered the bus which had just arrived. They all got on and sat at the back of the bus. 

    “We’re always up for an adventure, after all we barely went out,” Echo said. 

They got off at the bart station and it was packed with people. The girls were looking around at everything, they had never seen so many people wearing such different clothing, chattering about, and just walking. 

“You girls should buy a pass now so you can take the bus and bart much easier,” Nick said and replenished his own card. 

The girls watched him and tried getting their own cards, Jeremy helped Pyre and Rosemary while Nick helped Echo. Eventually they boarded the train and the girls were all staring outside the window. 

“Do you really think they’re 17 years old,” Jeremy asked Nick while watching the girls. 

“They look like it,” Nick said, “Where should we take them? Clothes shopping? I don’t really want to do that.”

“Haha well we’re just following them so we have no choice if they want to,” Jeremy said. 

“Do you think we can be faster if we’re flying?” Pyre whispered to her friends.   

    Echo scoffed, “First we gotta learn how to fly again. We haven’t had time to practice yet.” 

    “Oh I researched about that and Queen Meillieure and Vanilla Mieux were given brooms,” Rosemary said. 

“Brooms?!” Pyre yelled. Echo and Rosemary instantly yelled, “Shhhh!” 

Nick and Jeremy looked at them and said, “Brooms?” 

    “Ha..ha… Brooms for cleaning yenno? We just moved in and we really haven’t cleaned the house yet,” Rosemary awkwardly laughed. 

    “Right…” Jeremy said, “Anyways tomorrow you guys have to come to school a little earlier to see what classroom you’re in.” 

    “Will we be in the same class?” Pyre asked Jeremy. 

“I don’t know it really depends. Nick, Marco, and I haven’t been in the same class since freshman year,” 

    “We’re here, come on,” Nick said and got out of the train. The rest of them followed. The city was much nicer and busier. The girls looked at the buildings and the cars, everything was new to them. The air didn’t smell like peppermints anymore, there weren’t witches casting tricks on every corner, and the buildings were more modern compared to their buildings. Suddenly the boys pushed them forward and said, “Let’s go.” 

    Their days went on and the girls did do some shopping to fit into their new world, tried on some new shoes, and their new favorite drinks called milk tea a.k.a. Boba. Until it was finally time to go home. 

    “Thank you for taking us out today,” Pyre said and gave them a hug goodbye. 

“Yep thank you, let us make it up to you guys one day,” Rosemary said and gave them a hug as well. Echo was starting to walk away already when Pyre yelled, “Ah! Echo wait for us!” 

    “Um… Before I leave is it okay to get both of your numbers?” Rosemary asked. 

“Oh yeah sure,” They pulled out their phones and exchanged numbers. 

    “Thank you. Sorry about Echo by the way. Bye-Bye!” Rosemary waved goodbye and left. The boys waited for her to enter the building before leaving. 

Rosemary entered their house and saw Echo and Pyre on the couch. She plopped down along with them and let out a big sigh, “I never knew walking all day was so tiring.” 

    “I knoooow even when I’m in battle at least I could fly farther and easier,” Pyre said, taking off her socks. 

        “I know the air feels really heavy,” Echo said with her eyes closed. 

“And where have you girls been all day?!” Chris yelled. 

They all groaned, “Why are you guys here?” Pyre asked. 

“We came to prepare dinner but you never came home on time,” Timothy said. The girls felt bad and got eye watery. 

        Echo stood up and went to hug James, “Sorry but we’re tired,” 

“Well, well, what do we have here!” Robert said as he popped up on the couch with a golden scale. 

    “What’s that?” Rosemary asked. 

“This scales the amount of Ecures you have collected,” Robert said and with that the girls jumped up and all yelled, “I GOT A HEART!” 

They looked at each other in surprise and yelled, “NO way!” Echo was happy, Pyre and Rosemary were disappointed. 

“Let me see here,” Robert said and took the girls necklace, he opened them up and the results were shown.

“How did you get so many?!” Rosemary asked in disbelief. 

    “When did you talk to so many people,” Pyre asked as well. 

“Oh haha I had a race with Nick and there were some people,” Echo explained. 

    Rosemary sat down again and Pyre looked down, “I guess you win the bet…”

Echo saw their reactions and knew that she messed up by collecting that many, “I mean we said first one to get a heart not the most and since we weren’t together we don’t really know who got it first.” 

    “You’re right! That’s awesome then.” Pyre said cheering up once again. Tomorrow I’ll get more than her, she thought. 

    “That’s right.” Rosemary agreed and perked up as well. 

Echo nodded and took her necklace back, “I’m going to go take a bath now.” Then she left. 

“I’m gonna go get some rest too. Tomorrow is going to be so fun,” Pyre said and gave Chris a hug goodnight. 

    “Me too, good night you guys sorry for not eating,” Rosemary said. 

The boys cleaned up and noticed the sense of energy changing between the girls. They became friends because they were bound by royal blood but with this competition their friendship will be up for a challenge as well. “Take care of them.” Robert said and left. 

James started putting away the food while Chris and Timothy went to check on their Princess. 

Pyre and Chris~

*knock* *Knock* 

“Pyre can I come in?” 

“Of course, come in,” Pyre said sitting in front of her vanity brushing her hair. 

Chris sat next to her face the other way, “Are you okay?” 

    “Why wouldn’t I be?” Pyre said and continued brushing her hair. 

“You looked a little disappointed earlier,” Chris said and moved Pyre’s hair behind her. 

    Pyre looked at Chris and let out a sigh, “I know I should be happy Echo got her Ecures but I don’t know how to do this.” 

    Chris smiled at Pyre and gave her cheek a stroke, “Just be yourself. You’d be surprised how many of the soldiers admire you Princess.” 

Pyre held Chris’ hand and laid her head on his shoulder, “thank you Chris but I need people to fall for me. I don’t know how to more feminine than-” 

Pyre was cut off when Chris turned to look at her and said, “stop comparing yourself to them. Have you forgotten? You are the Princess who climbed the ranks to be a General with her own skills. You. Are. Amazing.” 

Pyre placed her forehead against Chris’ and thanked him, “Thank you. I don’t know what I’d do without you. Can you stay the night?”

Chris looked at her and said, “Of course. I’ll sleep on the couch.” 

    “Don’t be silly, come next to me.” Pyre said and moved aside for Chris. He was hesitant at first but eventually he just crawled into bed and turned his back against Pyre. She smiled and put her head on his back. She focused on his breathing and fell asleep. 

“Good night Princess,” Chris whispered and fell asleep. 

In Rosemary’s room~

    “Princess can I come in?” Timothy knocked on the door. There was no answer so Timothy looked in. The Princess wasn’t there so he entered the room and rested on one of the chairs. 

With Echo and James~

    “Your Majesty are you in?” James knocked. 

“Yes, come in James,” When James entered Echo had just walked out behind her room divider. Her hair was still dripping from the bath she took but she was already getting ready for bed. 

    James walked towards Echo and started drying her hair with a towel. 

“James… I messed up by taking those Ecures,” Echo said and looked down. 

    He didn’t say anything and continued drying her hair instead. 

“I can’t imagine what Pyre and Rosemary must be thinking,” Echo said and started to cry. After a few more minutes she had stopped. 

    “There you’re all dry. Want to get some rest?” James said and put away Echo’s towel. 

Echo went on her bed and James followed. He put his arms around her and Echo snuggled closer to him. 

    “I’m sure that just motivated them to work harder. Besides there’s plenty of time for them to catch up. For now just know I’m here to support you.” Then he gave her a kiss on her forehead. Echo had already fallen asleep and soon James did too. 

Back with Rosemary~

When Rosemary had entered her room she saw Timothy asleep on her study chair. 

“Tim wake up,” She touched his shoulder and he opened his eyes. 

“Oh hey I was just coming to check up on you,” He said and rubbed his eyes. 

    “Thank you for coming today, sorry we couldn’t eat,” Rosemary said and started climbing into bed. 

“It’s okay, how are you holding up though? I know this place is different from what you’re used to,” Timothy said and sat at the end of Rosemary’s bed. 

    “I like it. I can make my own decisions and people here don’t really know who I am so it’s easy to talk to them,” Rosemary said and looked down at her own hands, “It’s nice to know that people here can see me for me… I know it seems cliche but it really does feel nice to be seen.” 

“It’s not. I hope everyone here sees how amazing you are and this will be useful for when you have to talk to your own people,” Timothy reassured her and smiled at himself. 

    “Thank you Tim,” Rosemary smiled and was ready to fall asleep.

Timothy saw that his Princess was tired so he stood up, bowed, and said, “Good night Princess.” 

“Tim… Can you stay here tonight and just tell me one of your stories?”

“As you wish,” Timothy said and took one of Rosemary’s pillows and blankets. Rosemary fell asleep pretty fast and once Timothy heard her heavy breathing he stopped, “So it begins.” 

    With that, the Princesses night ended for which the real battle starts tomorrow.
