The First Six
Before the world had been made and the First Six had been born, there were two Beings simply known as Mother and Father, the parents to the First Six. Their first child was their son, Tempus, who held sway over the flow of time. Next were his sisters Tractus, Terra, and Oceana - the sky, earth, and waters. Oceana also had another facet to her powers, able to make water so cold that it turned to snow and ice.
The next to be born was their brother Ventus, who controlled the wind. After him was their youngest, firey, trickster brother, Ignis. It was his vast warmth that drew his sister Oceana to him, melting her heart.
Since the day the girls were born, the sky hung from the heavens, earth sat below, and water covered much of the land, but there was no light. One day while bored, Ignis filled a mountain with fire that could only be doused by Oceana's sea. When the steam cleared away, there was a beautiful island.
Ignis saw the way his older sister admired the mountainous island and promised her a palace of her own there, on the condition that she married him. Oceana agreed and soon, much to everyone's surprise, she had brought forth not one, but two eggs.
One egg was gold with flames decorating the base of it while its sibling was silver with a base of ocean waves. when the first one hatched, a bird-like creature emerged and light illuminated the world. When she fell asleep, her sibling hatched, bathing the world in a soft, white light.
It was just as Ignis and Oceana's son hatched that the first of Tempus and Tractus' sons was being born. Due to these events, the eldest of the First Six designated himself to be the one who decided when things happened. Tempus made it so that only one of his siblings held sway over the world's weather at a time and that his oldest son's darkness only came when Ignis' son rose in the night sky. They were all at peace until Terra and Ventus created the Human race. Then the fight between the First and Second Born began.
