Prologue

It was an early quiet morning, a young martial arts master was standing at the dojo and practiced karate. Many martial artists would be able recognize it as Kyokushin Karate or Shotokan Karate, but his style was a mixture between them. He was practicing Haiku-Ken style Karate.

The man's name was Chiba, the creator of Haiku-Ken style karate moves. He remained standing at the dojo next to a wooden training dummy. Then, he holded out his arms and breathed. Then, Chiba ran, jumped and kicked the dummy twice. It was like a flying kick. The move was called "Kutei kyaku", the Japanese meaning of Airborne Leg, Then, Chiba sat down and delivered an uppercut, the move was called "Raijinguappa", the Japanese meaning of Rising Uppercut, the dummy was starting to break, so that the structure was now sagging. Chiba charged the chi into his right foot. He ran into the dummy and made kick spins on it, the move was "Hariken senpu kyaku", the Japanesse meaning of Hurricane Whirlwind Leg. Later, as the dummy was now broken, Chiba started to work on fixing it.

The next day, at early morning, Chiba was standing at the dojo next to the dummy. Starting to breath, he holded his hands, focused about his soul, emptied his head, closed his eyes, and made his stance. Moments later, Chiba opened his eyes and unleashed an flurry of powerful attacks, using his legs and arms. Chiba hit the dummy about seventeen times and ended the move by breaking it with an uppercut, causing the dummy to break, the move was "Haiku-Ken style eighteen hit combo", one of the most powerful moves of the Haiku-Ken style Karate.

Around twenty years have passed, and the Haiku-Ken karate was known around the world of martial arts and some of the karatekas in Japan practiced it. Chiba was now around fifty years old and had a beard. He took on a student named Shinhichiro Yuki, a twenty-one year old young man who was inspired to train at Chiba's dojo. Chiba looked at Yuki, proud at him. He saw Yuki performing the "Blowing Uppercut", in which to sit down and deliver a powerful uppercut. The uppercut destroyed the dummy Yuki was training. It was a powerful version of the "Rising Uppercut". After Yuki practiced the move, Chiba smiled and looked at him, looking at how Yuki became a young fighter after four years of training. Soon, Yuki graduated from Chiba's teaching and started his dojo at Osaka. Ten years later, Yuki heared that his master, Chiba, died from a heart attack, which left him devastated, losing the one who raised him when he was eighteen.

Nine years after Chiba's death, Yuki still remembered hearing his master's death. His dojo became successful and followed his footsteps for the last nine years. He was now grown up and forty years old, sporting a mustache, a beard and a long hair tied to a braid. Then one fateful day, Yuki saw a fifteen year old orphan at his doorstep of his dojo. He thought that the child would be somehow related to the Hasashi family. The family had owned a dojo in Okinawa for the Hasashi Style Martial Arts, which was the oppisite of the Haiku-Ken Style Karate and was combination of Aikido, Judo and Chito-ryu Style Karate. They were also rivals for Master Chiba and even Yuki. Unwilling to leave the child alone, Yuki took and adopted the child. The boy had a name; Ryo Takeshi.

For the next six years, Ryo had been living with master Yuki. He had no memeories about his fanily or his true origins. When he was seventeen years old, Ryo started training with master Yuki. During his training, Ryo learned about the secrets of the Haiku-Ken Style Karate and the Hasashi family from his mentor. The Hasashi family had owned a dojo in Okinwa and they were rivals to the late master Chiba and also master Yuki. Toshihiko Hasashi was the creator of the Hasashi Style of Martial Arts and soon became rivals with Chiba when the latter became famous for the Haiku-Ken Style Karate and owned a dojo. After his death, His son, Hamato, took over the dojo and became it's owner. The year was 1989 and Ryo was now twenty-one years old.

Ryo was training in the dojo at Osaka, Japan when master Yuki came. Ryo bowed to him.

"Master Yuki." Ryo said

"Ryo, my son, i am so proud of you, you are now strong, you are now focused. You are now a true master of the Haiku-Ken Karate. Your training is done, I assume you would participate in the World Fighter Tournament." Yuki said

"What is it?" Ryo said.

"It is a worldwide martial arts fighting competition that is held for the first time by a man called Hamato Hasashi, a legendary martial arts master. There is a one round in the tournament and the participant reaches to the next round after this. There is a trophy for the winner who can defeat Hamato and even prize money and fame. You have to enter to test and hone your skills." Yuki said. "I also heard that my old friend, Lee Yang, will participate in the tournament."

"I would be honored to compete for such a prize, master Yuki. I accept the invitation." Ryo said.

"Then good luck to you, Ryo." Yuki said.
