It was cold, dark and very sorrow. Aldis saw that their was no escape they were encroaching creeping upon him in a mockingly way waiting for the next move he would make. Aldis reached for his hilt only to find the sword he had once carried missing. That sword was one of the eight legendary weapons know to Pallet, his happened to be the one of light which was the beauty and grace which held the world together.
Aldis bit his lip as the things creeped closer upon him noticing the disappearance of his sword. They were demons, but took the form of deceased loved ones or passed animals that he loved dearly in his childhood. He had nowhere to run, they had circled around him making escaping a method unachievable. He didn't want to look at them, they had twisted faces and missing limbs. They also had a crooked smile that made his breath hitch.
They were the predator and he was the prey.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aldis screamed in agony as his parents burst through the wooden door to his room. They saw his arm being cut and ripped open along with flesh being torn. The room was quiet, they were the only ones in the room which worried his mother deeply as she ran and started shaking him violently. Among the touch Aldis shot up punching his arm forward almost hitting his father directly in the face.
"Aldis what happened," his mom croaked between tears.
"A nightmare mom," Aldis replied bringing his arm back to his chest hiding a scar that had not healed from previous dreams.
His father grabbed his hand away from his chest looking directly at the slash which had been driven from his neck all the down his back that was a swollen purple. He looked down ashamed of not telling his parents before when they had started.
"How long has this been happening," his father firmly asked.
"Months ago father," Aldis spoke making his mother croak in even more tears.
"My poor son," she shouted wrapping her arms around his waist.
Aldis hugged her back finally releasing the tears which had threatened to fall from his eyes. When she finally released him he looked down at the fur pelts which he had been sleeping on. They were a crimson red which reflected his eyes magnificently. His father walked out of the room in quite a annoyed fashion making Aldis jump up and run out of the room leaving his mother alone.
"What the hell was that for," Aldis screamed at his father.
"Your such a bastard Aldis you know that," he screamed back!
"Well sorry for getting hurt by my own dreams," Aldis admitted
"You should be," he spoke back mockingly.
They argued back and forth getting more fierce and deadly as it went on. His father then slapped Aldis against his cheek leaving a bright red hand print from were he had been harmed.
"You were always a disgrace to our family's emblem," he shouted.
"How," Aldis screamed.
"your mother had white hair and purple eyes making her blessed by the angels, but when she had you your red eyes signaled danger to our land."
"That doesn't mean I can't be like you guys," he cried out
At that moment his mother came into the room crying as she had heard the previous argument. She had a leather pack filled with various items then tossed it into Aldis's arms kissing him on the forehead.
"It's time we see," his mother spoke.
"See what," he asked at a hushed voice.
"He won't be a controller, and never will he be," his father spoke.
His mother then grabbed him by the hand dragging him to the chapel were the picking would be done. Among walking Aldis walked by a boy with a strange vibe. He had brown hair with a part directly in the middle and striking purple eyes making him curious and a bit worried about him. The boy snickered as he walked directly into the chapel cutting them off in the process.
"Welcome to the annual picking everyone," a man shouted from atop a stage.
"As you know every century a controller is picked to see if he has the ability of controlling a dragon of the eight elements," he roared as the crowd cheered.
"This year any boy or girl the age of 18 will meet the dragons to see if they accept them as their master,"
As he spoke 8 dragons flew into the chapel each with a different appearance, but each with remarkable and beautiful looks. The announcer then started calling people up, but one by one each sat back down disappointed.
"Ivan," the announcer called as the boy from earlier stood up.
He walked forward onto the stage giving a huff as the dragons turned their heads away meaning they weren't interested. He released his breath as he started walking off the stage only to find that on his arms had tattoos forming in the shape of floral designs running up his arms and down his back in a V shape stopping at his waist line. The tattoos shown a bright purple making him turn around looking at the storm dragon. It had long torn wings with an almost metal kind of texture with purple smoke steaming through the cracks and his eyes. He looked shocked as he held eye contact with the dragon making his own eyes soon shine a bright purple as the dragon shrunk three times it's original size wrapping itself around Ivan's neck transforming into a tattoo.
"Mom why didn't you tell me this before," he whispered
"I wanted to keep it a secret," she stated with a smile
Ivan then looked at himself realizing he had been chosen by a dragon to be its master. The announcer then clapped his hands as everyone joined in.
"Behold the controller of storm," he shouted
Aldis clapped along with them happy for the boy, but little did he know his wound that was torn and flesh ripped apart was fully healed like nothing had happened.

Okay I know it isn't perfect but should I continue or forget about it?? Your opinions really do help and I am open to suggestions or constructive criticism. If you actually read it I give you virtual doughnuts and thank you for actually checking it out!
"What's the importance of this ceremony mom? I mean I now the controllers are the guardians of the 8 realms and protect the land from danger, but hasn't evil been stored away," Aldis questioned his mom.
"Their are many reasons to why it is important, if you want I'll tell you the story of the fierce," his mother spoke
"Fierce, what's that," he questioned?
"The story of how our land came to be," she spoke as she pulled out a tablet hidden in the leather pouch.
Aldis grabbed the stone from his mothers hand and began reading the print from which had been painted on the stone.
The story of the Fierce:
In Pallet the kingdom of greed and wealth their held a girl. She wasn't like the rest of her family, she wasn't in the palace for the wealth or the riches in store for when she'd be crowned queen. She wanted the kingdom destroyed, banished from the world they lived on, but mostly she wanted to see her fathers blood spilt on his throne. The kings name was Kor and his daughter Aluin. Kor would execute his fellow Nobel citizens to gain there wealth they inherited including the children and babies the family had.
Aluin always watched her father from her window, she wasn't allowed to go outside and see the world. She was a prisoner under the rule of tyranny. Kor would blame the house fires on natural disasters, but Aluin always knew they weren't the cause of the screams and roaring flames.
After years of torture and unbearable screams Aluin took her own life by shoving the sword of Shadow straight through her heart. She didn't want the legacy to continue and greed spread to other kingdoms. Her blood though contained abilities that had not yet been awakened. The blood traveled like a snake slithering through the forest looking for a new host.
That's when it came in contact with a boy, a valiant knight to be exact. He wore chain mail armor with the emblem of a griffin worn above it. The blood took him as a host giving him the power of the dragons.
The boy whose name was unknown strolled through the kingdom straight through the gates and into the throne room where Kor was sitting. Kor above everyone else had a dragon and he summoned it showing that his dragon was shadow. It was made of smoke, but with glistening red eyes. The boy having tricks of his own summoned the dragon of light opposite of darkness striking a gruesome and horrifying battle where in the end blood was spilt. The boy fell, a sword lodged in his heart. Yet before he took his final breaths he cast a spell separating all the elements to far places were no one would find them sealing Kor in the process to his throne.
He asked one final command of his dragon, to set the place on fire burning down all the memories with it. The dragon in deep sorrow flew up and spread fire to all the houses and lastly to the castle were he saw his master laying lifeless on the stone floor. He had saved kingdoms to the realm and died a valiant death like a knight should. The dragon they called fierce was soon sealed up and hidden from human eyes.
The End
"So the whole point is to celebrate the defeat of Kor and to celebrate the boy that had started a new era," Aldis asked?
"Yes you are correct," his mother replied
"So why does father say I'm a disgrace," he spoke tuning out towards the end.
"Because, Aluin, the girl had purple eyes while Kor had red," she spoke softly.
After that speech Aldis still had many questions, like how did they find the elements? Yet not even his own mother knew the answer.
"Aldis," the man called his voice roaring above the others.
Aldis stepped onto the stage very cautiously keeping his eyes low, hair covering his eyes.
"My boy you must look at the dragons," the man spoke softly so only he would hear.
Aldis looked up hearing some gasp soar through the crowd. Like Aluin he wasn't allowed outside his house even in the summer when the sun shown bright. The dragons stepped back fearing his appearance. They put their snouts low in a defensive position ready for any danger that may come. Aldis then dropped his head back down walking off the stage until the man grabbed his arm.
"Were you born with this by any chance," he asked
"Yes," he spoke irritated by all the gasp from the crowd.
The shadow dragon then stood forward followed by all the other dragons even Ivan's dragon stepped forth. Aldis was confused and scared of what the dragons might do until they all put their snouts down in a bowing position.
"What's happening," he asked confused by their actions.
"I have no answer to that question," he replied.
Then on Aldis's arms gold tattoos shown, but instead of floral designs like all the rest they were dragons. Just like Ivan's designs 2 dragons swirled up each arm while 2 went down his back. Yet he didn't get a dragon on his neck instead it went onto his forehead swirling around his eyes making them shine gold. Aldis was confused and worried about had happened so when he finally opened his eyes he saw people horrified.
"Aldis you okay," his mother shouted from the back.
"What element is this," he asked the announcer.
"We have never seen this before in our lives," he spoke stunned by the boys appearance.
Behind him a dragon appeared, it was gold and had its eye lids shut. It had a key and lock around its neck signaling it had been trapped somewhere.
"It can't be, this dragon was sealed away," his father shouted.
Behind Aldis stood the very dragon the boy had sealed away for eternity in the tale. It then opened its eyes revealing a silver color.
"It's fierce," Aldis stated.
A/N:
I think it went well, what do you think? I support constructive criticism because it help me be a better writer! Yet I really want to know if you like it so far? Sorry for not clarifying the location or country it's name is Pallen, but the plot messes with the setting in a very clever way in my opinion. If you read it I give you virtual cupcakes this time and hope you enjoyed!
