Chapter 1
Connor looked down the barrel of his rifle spotting two targets. Connor looked thoughtful. Why where they out in the open like this? They knew who they were up against, they weren't so bad themselves, with a few wins under their belt. Instead of taking them out, like he should've, he waited hoping to catch some of what they're planning.
"Wait," you might be thinking. "How come they hadn't spotted him yet?" Well Connor was hiding in a tree covered in leaves they only way they would spot him would be if they knew where he was. See Connor was a master strategigest, he knew the optomal spots fpr cover amd had at least three back up plans at any moment. He was not one t rush in head first.
Before too long Connor heard static coming from their radios. Connor was praying for good news. If his first plan worked Warren would be radioing them with bad news. If tha wasn't the case then it would be Sean.
"Yeah?" asked one of the guys.
"We got Sean and Warren, they're out. Captured Alex, Johns down." the voice replied.
"Awesome all that's left is Connor, we'll use Alex. Let's go." The second guy tell replied.
Connor cursed under his breath. Three of his plans out the window. Luckily Alex remembered the fourth plan. Before the two guys could go to the third Connor acted. He fired off a rund hitting the first guy in the side of the head, red sprayed from the shot. Connor droped down and smashed the second in the face with his rifle, he dropped to the ground clutching his face. Connor whipped out a knife and held it against the guys neck.
Tell your teamate 'code four'." Connor said.
"What?" The guy asked.
"Do it!" Connor ordered pressing the knife closer to his throat.
"All right! I'll do it." The guy reached for his radio and spoke into it. C-code four." he said.
"What?" the voice asked then shouted "Hey!" before cutting off. Connor drew the knife acrossed hs prisoners throat leavmg behid a line of red.
Judging from the response, Alex remembered the rest of the plan. Connor stood up and pulled out a GPS. Each member of the team had a tracker just in case. Connor placed a hand by his ear, activating a comm.
"Good job Alex, just keep running. I got ya right now." he said.
"Great. I'll trap him. A out." a voice replied.
Connor grabbed hos rifle and began running in the direction of Alex's signal. If all went well everything would be over within the hour, with no more losses.
A man leveled his sword at hs target. He was triumphant. Despite the weird befre theprisoner booked it, all was well. He grinned.
"Got ya now. You trapped yourself, and I made sure to disarm you. So give up amd come with me so that we can get Connor." he gloated. His target smiled.
"No."
Connor spotted Alex standin off against his enemy. He checked his ammo for the rifle and cursed when he saw only one bullet left. He loaded it and aimed. He saw the guy raise his word and begon to talk. He noticed when Alex's eyes s flickered briefly over him and was happy when the other guy didn't notice. Connor waited for the signal.
They had gotten every signal for every plan decided the night before. Connor wasn't about to leave anything to chance, especially with how important today was. Connor saw Alex smile, the signal. Connor squeezed the trigger and fired. His target went down. Connor stood up amd laughed in relief. They had won. Alex ran over and hugged Connor.
"We won!" Alex said.
"Did you ever doubt?" Connor asked.
"When Warren went down I did." Alex said.
"How did that happen?" Connor asked. Warren was one of the best fighters ever. He wasn't known to be taken down. It genuinely surprised him.
"Well Sean and I were fighting thta guy amd he was pretty tough. He worked us against each other and got Sean, then tripped me. While I was down Warren got the other guy but was taken down with his back turned."
"That's cheap." Connor muttered staring at the back of his fallen enemy. "How far away are they?"
"Maybe a mile or so back the way I came. Why don't you check the GPS?" Alex asked pointing towards the direction he had come.
"No reason." Connor responed. Before Alex could talk anymore a giant horn went off. Alex jumped at the sudden sound while Connor just smirked.
"Scared?" he mocked.
"Team one wins!" a robotic voice boomed.
Alex looked wearily at a bush that began to rustle. "How many bullets ya got left?"
"None," Connor asked. "Don't worry battles over anyway. Now how was your first skirmish?"
As Alex was about to answer a veritable giant stepped out of the bushes followed by a second person definely smaller then the first. The giant was about 7 feet tall. He had dark red hair and blood red eyes. Combined with the massive broadsword strapped to his back made him a very froghtening sight. Compared to the first, the scond person wasn't as threatening a sight but was scary in his own right. He had brown hair and hazel eyes, he had a sheild strapped to his left arm and a sword about four feet in length strapped to his waist. Connor smiled when he saw these two.
"Warren, Sean! I was about to go looking for you two." He said.
"No need when we heard the second gunshot we came runnin'. I'll never figure out how you take people out so quckly." The giant, Warren said.
"Element of surprise." Connor replied.
"Yeah, I'm surprised we won, what with the green horn here." Sean said pointing at Alex who looked slightly offended. Connor smirked.
"While no one can replace Josh. Alex shows a lot of potential. He belongs on this team. I mean, he was the only one of you two to survive so until he screws up really bad he is staying got it?"
"Yeah." Sean said a little deflated. Warren smacked Connor and Sean on the back almost knocking them over.
"Enough of this! I'm hungry and we got to prepare for tomorrow at school, so let's go." he said.
With that the four teammates walked back to their school. Happy, at least for the time being.
