"Cor! This lasagne that Katy makes is gorgeous! It's every bit as good as the one she made last year."
"Yes, it is. Although I wouldn't want to eat too much of it, as it's very rich isn't it?"
"Don't worry if you've got too much there, I'll help you out. It goes lovely with the cheesy garlic bread that Nic brought. Hey, what on earth does Mel look like? Green tights don't go with anything, especially not with that floral dress and can you believe what she was drinking?"
"It just looked like a pint of cider to me."
"Oh no! I saw her with her pint and asked her what it was that she was drinking and she said it was cinzano. I was a bit taken aback by the size of her glass and asked if she had mixed it with anything. Thinking she'd say lemonade or something similar, do you know what she said she'd mixed it with?"
"No. What was it?"
"Whiskey! A pint of cinzano and whiskey."
"Oh! She's got an alcohol problem hasn't she? When we went to stay with them in Marazion last February, she constantly tried plying us with a whole cocktail of different drinks and she ended up shutting herself off in the kitchen a few times and all you could hear was the clanging of bottles."
"Mind you, she might like her drink but she's very hospitable and makes some beautiful food when you visit them. Oh! Have you finished with that lasagne?"
