As I walked into her room, the first thing I noticed was the pink paint covering the wall to my left and the wall behind the wardrobe which was right in front of me. The walls looked unfinished but apparently they were meant to be like that. Also, the type of pink the walls were painted in, was called 'dusky pink' but to me it was just 'pink'. The big white wardrobe swept over most of the wall, right towards her bedside table which was covered in little wooden japanese dolls, a small pink jug with a fake flower sticking out from the top (it belonged to her great grandmother) and a white lamp with a pale pink and white checkered shade.
Then came her bed, draped by an old looking quilt, which was mainly covered with that dusky pink again and pale blue with white flowers and patterns. It looked like something my grandmother would have owned, although I was glad that wasn't the case, as her bed didn't smell of dust and stale wee. In fact her entire room smelt of a sweet, flowery perfume. This room was a total contrast from my grey and blue 'guy cave', which had the distinct scent of 'eau de trainer' mixed with my sport deoderant.
She sat herself down on her bed and I followed suit. We sat there for a minute not saying a word, as I started to take in the last parts of her room which I hadn't noticed as yet.
Along the rest of the wall, on the opposite side of the room from her wardrobe, which stetched from the end of her bed to the door, was a pale green chest of drawers which had been purposefully 'distressed' to have a bit of paint missing. This was covered by various hair products and a few purfumes in the middle of matching heart shaped metal tins, dusky pink rose covered boxes and some vintage sweet tins filled apparently with jewellery but I wasn't going to take a look to make sure.
In the small corner space between the end of the bed and the pale green drawers, proudly stood a cream metal frame mannequin, adorned in ornate jewellery, a cream lace scarf, a masquerade mask and a lace edged cream parasol. It was very girly! Last of all, I noticed some shelves which were covered with bits and bobs that she had collected over the years, like russian dolls which belonged to her mother, a little wooden fairy which she had as a present from her grandmother when she was seven and an assortment of different sized purfume bottles dotted around.
She also had three mirrors in her room; one was hanging over her chest of drawers which had some French words written between two flying cherubs, another was over her bedside table, while the other one was free standing. This one was sitting right in front of her big wardrobe, towards the left hand side and was surrounded by various paper shopping bags, her cd player and some discarded clothes. It seemed that was her messy corner, which tonight hadn't spread any further than there. I then turned to face her, her gaze fixed on me. She looked as pretty as her bedroom and I couldn't resist. I leant slowly towards her and gently kissed her warm, pink rosebud lips.
