Father and Mother always arrived first. I swung into my designated parking spot, two spaces away showing my birth rank in the family. The last spot in the five spaces; the baby, once the one with greatest expectations and now the disappointment of the family. I looked at my reflection in the glass of my ca, making sure there was no trace of flour still clinging in my hair then checked my nails for any residual dough under my nails. The last time I failed inspection, well, i decided not to dwell on that. A few seconds later twin cars screeched around the corner and my brother and sister raced each other into their lots. My sister parking next to my parents and my brother next to me. Their doors opened almost simultaneously and two heads of fire red hair popped out.
"Nice driving sister dear," my brother Mical praised.
"Such a flatterer," my sister Michelle replied and walked over to kiss him on the cheek, "Hello Trey."
She didn't even look in my direction as she and Mical held hands and walked into the house. I didn't realize that i was clenching my jaw until i felt a hand fall on my shoulder and my teeth ground as i spun around, the hand already in my own grip. My attacker was going to be in for a world of pain when i dislocated his shoulder. I stopped abruptly when i saw a pair of brilliant blue eyes flash with pain. I dropped the arm and stepped back.
"I'm sorry Joel," I apologized, "You startled me." The man grinned at me and rolled his shoulder back a few times.
"No need to apologize Mr. Baker," He said in his smooth British accent," I understand how tense you must be. After all this is Kill Week." I stood to let him pass and head into the house but he motioned me to go on first. Instead I half turned and he fell in beside me as we walked into the house.
"It's not like I am going to be participating anyway Joel," I said as causally as i could but i knew that trying to hide my bitterness from Joel was futile. The man knew how to read people like an open book. After all, his family had been working as our managers for almost fifty years. He smiled at me. We stopped at the door to the family study.
"If you want to participate," he said, "You should." I scoffed at the statement and entered the room.
Inside my family was already seated around the table.
"Trey," Mother stated by way of greeting. My Father said nothing. I moved to kiss her and my father before sitting at my place.
Then dinner began. You would think that belonging to a family of assassins that hated your guts since you were old enough to show that you would not be following in the usual family business of murder for hire, that I would have gotten used to sitting through stories which were punctuated by sharp, non-subtle jabs at my profession. But i hadn't and i had long learned to never let it show. I was in more ways than one the Black Sheep of the family. My entire family shared the flame red hair while i had black. Their were all that gorgeous shade of pale skin while i had a rather olive tan to mine. It was almost as if i was not related to them at all by blood and they would have probably claimed it was so if it wasn't for the proof of DNA. I was blood, much to their dismay. And so they took care of me as dutifully as the family was supposed to. But beyond that duty there was nothing but disdain for the Baker among Assassins.
When dinner was finally over, Father reached in to his jacket and pulled out four black envelopes with a large cursive B on it that was our trademark sign. He held them out and my Mother and siblings took one each. I clenched my hand under the table but said nothing.
"You all know this is the Family Kill Week," he said, his voice low and sensual, "Inside the envelope are the rules of the Week and what the prize will be at the end of it's completion." He paused then looked at me, "You won't be participating." I didn't move. He held my gaze for a few more seconds then twisted his face in disgust and walked out the room. I remained in the chair till they all left and i heard their cars drive off. I reached out and took hold of the dinner knife and turned it to watch the reflection of my own green eyes. A slight movement in the background caught in the blade's surface and I was out the chair with my arm already in motion and the blade leaving it. Joel caught the blade in his forearm with a low hiss.
"Joel!" I exclaimed rushing over to him. He gave me a grin and turned his arm to inspect it; blood starting to drip down his finger tips. I groaned and pulled him into a chair, easing the blade out and reaching for napkins. He held them at my order while I fished around in my jacket for my stitch kit. He sat good as gold while I poured hydrogen peroxide on his wounds, disinfected it and stitched him up. "You have to stop sneaking up on me like that," I chided him, "One of these days I am going to kill you. And you're one person I really don't want to kill."
"I wish your parent could see you like this," he said softly. I glanced up at him and frowned.
"On my knees, stitching a man's arm?" I asked. Joel rolled his eyes.
"I mean the way you react when i sneak up on you," he corrected me, "Do you have any idea of how fast you are? You may not be an assassin but you sure as hell have the ability to be." My glance away from him was just for a split second but he caught it. I saw him smile slowly and nod once. Then he reached into his jacket with his good hand and held out a black envelope. I swallowed hard and moved to sit in a chair.
"Take it," he said.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"You deserve to be in this," he said, "I always believed it. And i am sure of it now. Take it Trey." I still didn't reach out. He sighed, "I'm the manager of the Baker Family Assassins. I have worked for you for over fifteen years. All i want is for the Family to be the best at what they do. I want the Baker Assassins to be the best." I held his gaze for a long while before i took the envelope.
"Does my family know about this?" I waved the envelope at him. Joel shook his head. This time, I smiled.
2: A Brother DeadTrey leaned over the cake, icing bag in hand and took a slow deep breath before reaching down to begin the first of the delicate patterns he had in mind for this particular confectionery. Just then the bakery phone rang and he jumped; pulling away the bag instinctively before he messed up the pattern. He let out a soft curse as a small drop of icing escaped and landed right in the center. He growled and frowned at the errant icing as on of his men answered. He was about to begin when Julian poked his head into the icing room.
"Phone for you Trey," he said wagging the mobile. Trey gestured to him and Julian came in pressing the phone to his ear.
"What is it?" he said a bit harshly, still frowning at the icing.
"Your brother is dead," his father's clear voice rang over the speakers. Trey hands squeezed convulsively and he dimly heard Julian curse and tear the icing bag from his hands.
"What?" he whispered, but his father had already hung up. He stood there listening to the dial tone; unsure of what he should be doing right now, what he should be feeling.
"Trey is everything ok?" Julian was asking him. He didn't really know what to answer. He blinked a few times rapid and then his world was suddenly violently shaken. He let out a small yell and grabbed out to hold onto something. His flailing arms met with firm, muscular ones and then Julian face was peering into his own. "What happened?" the older man commanded him. Trey swallowed hard and felt his throat tighten for a few seconds.
"My brother is dead," Trey whispered. An indecipherable look passed over Julian face and he spun Trey around and herded him out the room. Halfway to the door Trey realized what was going on. He began to protest but Julian shushed him.
"You need to get down there and see what's going on," Julian told him, "You family needs to see you right now. I can salvage that cake and have it prepped for you to continue when you get back." Trey stopped protesting and moved away quickly to change from his bakery clothes into normal ones. When he was done and went to tell the boys he was going, he found Julian explaining the situation to the men and telling them what they had to do. He smiled a little as he stepped in just as Julian turned, as if on cue, to let him finish up.
"You boys do what he tells you. I heard his instructions and I agree. I'll...I'll let you all know what's going on when i get back," Trey summed up. He swallowed the tightness in his throat his eyes flickering away from his baking crew before heading back to them. He saw for a brief moment the mask that dropped off the faces of the men in that room; saw the hard eyes, tight jaws and the fierce loyalty of the cold blooded killers he had in his pay. Then they mask was back on and they nodded to him uttering short condolences and encouragements. Then they all dissipated with Julian walking him out to his car.
"You take care Sir," he said, "Call us if you need anything."
"I will," Trey said and drove off.

Mical's body was at the family mortuary; a plush affair that seemed more like a house that a place that stored their dead. Mother and Father's car was there along with Michelle's car which was parked across both her and Mical's spots. He was a bit surprised that she was there. It was Kill Week after all. Trey got out and spotted Joel standing at the door. He took a breath and walked over to the Secretary.
"They're in the viewing room," Joel said quietly then after a pause, "They're very upset Trey." Trey nodded his thanks at the warning before following Joel to the door of the viewing room where the Secretary deposited him and disappeared. Trey stood with his hand on the handle, took several deep breaths and walked in.
The room was cold. Michelle was sitting on the floor against the wall, her knees drawn up to her chest and her arms death gripped around them. Her fire rad fair was in stark contrast to her skin which seemed paler than before. Her eyes were staring listlessly across the room to the other wall. Trey followed her gaze to see that she was staring at nothing. His Mother and Father were standing in front of the slab of white marble what served at the viewing table for their dead. His mother turned at the sound of his entrance; her hand as at her throat and was holding it in a tight grip as if she were strangling herself. Her skin seemed translucent and her red hair was the colour of dull embers; the fire had gone out of it. His Father did not turn around. Trey walked past Michelle and came to stand beside his mother. His brother lay there, body stripped and clean. The flesh was riddled with bullet holes and knife marks. The face however was remarkably untouched. There was just some slight discoloration around the lips and nostrils.
"When and where did they find him?" Trey asked. There was silence and then Michelle answered from behind him. Her voice was monotone and sounded as equally lifeless as she had looked.
"The Ravadi Family delivered him to us in a rose casket," she said, "One of their member was his target." Then as if something sparked inside her, she screamed "There is no reason for them to have caught him. He went over the plans with me. We scouted them together a bit before he went off. It would have been a piece of cake kill. He should not have been caught! Something happened. Someone else did this to him. Someone we don't know about killed my brother!"
His father and mother looked at her with stern faces that masked pity as she gazed wildly into their faces. She glared at them and then burst into tears. Trey watched as his parent turned away from her. He sighed and went to kneel in front of her. She looked up at him.
"You agree with them Trey?" she asked bitterly, "You think he just died on a mission like our predecessors?" Tears fell from her chin and ran down her arms. He moved to sit beside her, drawing his knees up, mimicking her pose.
"I don't know much about your world," he said, "Your predecessors and I don't have much in common. So i can't agree or disagree with you on what really happened. But if you think it was foul play; we can do an autopsy to find out for sure." She looked at him then at their parents.
"We can do that right?" she asked. His father frowned.
"I won't have my boy cut up like some animal," his father stated and walked out the room. Their mother gave them a once over and then walked out as well.
Michelle watched them with her mouth open and her eyes wild. "What the hell is wrong with them?" she whispered. Trey said nothing.
"Hold me," Michelle asked, "Please." Trey raised an eyebrow. She looked at him. "I just need to be held again...like how he used to hold me."
"I'm not Mical, Michelle," Trey said. She looked away from him.
"I know that Trey," she said softly then bitterly, "I know." With that she got up, walked over to her brother, kissed his forehead and walked out.
Trey remained in the cold room until Joel came in and found him.
"You alright?"he asked, holding a hand out to help him up. Trey took his hand, noticing that his own was shaking. "Cold?"
Trey shook his head, looking over to Mical body. "He's dead," Trey said. Joel nodded slowly.
"Trey..." he began. Trey held up a hand and Joel stopped.
"Can we take some blood and send it for a tox report?" he asked. Joel looked at him for a long few seconds then nodded. "Send me the results when it's done?" Joel nodded again. Trey sighed and scrubbed his face with his hands. "Thanks Joel."
"Say nothing of it," Joel smiled at him.
"I'm not alright," Trey answered the first question, "But I will be. I just need some time you know? To process all of this." He waved his hand around the room. Joel nodded.
"I'll get the report to you as soon as i get it," Joel reconfirmed and with they they went their separate ways.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The next day the tox report came in. Trey drove over to Michelle's place and handed her the envelope.
"What's this?" she said. She was looking worse than before.
"Tox report for Mical," he said, "I couldn't get the autopsy cleared but I snuck this out." She took the envelope.
"You did this for me?" she asked.
"He was my brother too you know," Trey said and drove away, watching her go into her house in his rear view mirror. He took his phone out and called Joel. "I just wanted to say thanks for how quickly you got that for me. I appreciate it."
"Say nothing of it," Joel said.
3: Death of a Sister.Trey stood with his hands loose at his side, eyes half closed and focused to the floor. He took a breath in and then let it out slowly, as he ended the breath a motion at the corner of his eyes caused him to lash out with one firm arms, hand already closing in anticipation of gripping onto an attacking arm. Instead he felt his hand being brushed over by his attackers hand, then their grip was on his wrist and closed fast. His arm was yanked and twisted behind him. He moved with the motion, his eyes wide and in completely focus as his attacker swung into his vision. Silas; his cleaner, was already snapping his leg up to deliver a kick. Trey pivoted on his outside leg, raising the other to block the blow which jarred his bones and then springing off the outside one to drive his weight forward, hoping to throw Silas off balance. It was a fool's hope; Silas was one of the most well balanced men he had ever fought against. The next few seconds were a blur; Trey slammed against the immovable wall of Silas' lithe body, was picked up and flipped over onto his back. He grunted as his skin stung from the impact. Silas grinned over him, letting him rest for a bit and then extending his hand.
"Another round Sir?" he asked. Trey groaned again and saw Julian smile from across the room. He returned the grin, took Silas's hand and was pulled up. He nodded.
"Another round," he confirmed.
During their tenth round of 'Trying to Throw Silas', prior to which he was kicked, punched, bruised and thrown every single time, he saw Julian pick up his phone and head outside the training room. A few minutes later Julian was back in, staring at the phone with a grim look on his face. He waved the phone at Trey just as Trey was flipped over neatly once again but this time Silas somehow slipped under him and took the impact instead. Trey lay panting against Silas as Julian came over and handed him the phone. He took a few seconds to return his breath to normal before pressing the receiver to his ear.
"Hello, Trey Baker speaking. How may i help you?" Trey answered with his usual line.
"Michelle is dead," his mother's ragged voice came over the phone, "You father...you need to be down here Trey."
Trey swallowed hard again and nodded despite the fact that they could not see him. Then he affirmed that he would be there and hung up.
"Everything alright?" Silas asked, patting his leaned back against him.
"My sister is dead," he said, his voice sounding strangely monotone to him. Silas' arm gripped around him briefly and then he was hauled up and held by both Silas and Julian. They carried him to shower, stood guard outside while he did, handed him his clothes to change, ran critical eyes over him and tweaked his clothes to their satisfaction and then ushered him out to his car. Only when he was seated in his car and his fingers were holding the key in the ignition did he come to himself enough to notice that they were both waiting with their arms crosses and smirks on their faces. He frowned at them and opened his mouth to give the usual instructions.
"We know," Julian said, "Go meet your parents. Call if you need anything." Silas nodded and made shooing motions with his hands.
"You two are like two..." Trey paused at the word "mother' because his mother never did stuff like this for him so it was an inadequate description, "Caretakers." He tried to make the word sound as scathing as possible. The two men grinned wider and with a huff, he started his car and drove off to their reflection waving him off.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The drive to the house was done in a of a sort of sharp trance. He pulled into his allotted parking space, the two empty spaces feeling like a void between his and his parent's vehicle. Joel was waiting at the door. There was no smile, just a sort of tense grimness. Trey paused before him but Joel said nothing; just held his gaze with penetrating eyes then he sighed and stepped aside. Trey nodded to him and entered the Viewing Room. His mother and Father were standing on front of Michelle's body, blocking it from view. Trey stopped at their hostile gazes. He opened his mouth to ask what was going on when his father and mother stepped away abruptly and exposed Michelle's body. The sight of it made Trey gasp and look away. He took several deep breaths an then dragged his eyes back to the marble slab that held his sister's naked body.
Precisely Mutilated. That was the words to describe what had been done to it. There was almost no skin left unmarked by knife wounds, bullet shots and other numerous tiny cuts and massive gashes. Trey forced himself to walk towards the body but when he had gotten just a few steps from the slab, his father stepped forward to block his progress. It was then that Trey saw the envelope in his hand. It was the blood tox results. Trey stood with his hands loose at his sides, eyes half closed and focused on the floor.
"You..." his father hissed at him, "You killed my daughter." He waved the blood report at Trey. "You knew how unhinged she was about Mical death. You knew that she thought that some imaginary outside person killed Mical. And still! And still you went and did this. Behind my back Trey!" His father was screaming now. "You went and got this behind my back! You took it to her. Nothing was wrong with him. The tox results were clean. But she had to know! She had to know for sure because you fueled her paranoia. You showed that you believed her and she had to know. She went back to the Ravadi Family. She went to know for sure if they had killed her brother and look! Look at what you did!" His father made as if to grab him and Trey lashed out instinctively.
He grabbed his father's arm, hand closing over his father's wrist. He yanked forward, stuck out twice with open palm into his father's chest over the heart. His father jerked with a short gasp from the blow but Trey was already gripping him and in the next second, his father was flipped over and slammed to the floor. A motion form the corner of his eye, had him spinning to intercept the motion. A gun was being focused on him but it was being moved too slow. He grabbed it just before it was lined up right and with a flick and pull, it was out and in his hand. His mother's surprised face appeared behind the gun just as he moved a step back to place his foot on his father's throat. There was a thick, heavy silence as the loud breaths of his parents contrasted with the almost silent heaves of his own. He could feel his father's gaze on him even as he stared into his mother's eyes.
"Don't look at me like that," he said hoarsely, "I'm not like you. I don't kill people with guns and knives. I had to start learning to do this because people like you made enemies. And those enemies thought it was a good idea to try and kill me. I had to start learning."
He lowered the gun, disassembled it and tossed the parts aside. He then moved and walked over the Michelle body. He gripped the edge of the marble slab so tight, he felt his nails beginning to hurt at the pressure. He tried to think of something to say but he couldn't. Instead he leaned over, kissed her forehead and walked out; not bothering to look at his parents. Joel was waiting at his car. Trey paused and Joel came forward his hand held in a non-threatening gesture. Trey glanced away for a few seconds then let his body relax. Joel then placed a hand on his shoulder. They stood there for a bit and then Joel left him, disappearing into the house. Trey got into the car; pulled out his phone and called Julian. When the deep voice answered he almost sobbed. He covered his mouth with one hand and composed himself.
"Is this the Baker's Bakery?" He asked, not quite managing to hide the tremor in his voice.
"Yes Sire, it is? Do you want to place an order?" Julian asked.
"Yes please," Trey replied, "The Secret House Special." There was a pause on the line and then Julian voice came back to him.
"It will be ready for you when you get back home Sir," Julian said. Trey disconnected and gunned the engine. He drove off as fast as he could, heading for home.
4: The King and Queen is Dead."Sir, I don't think this is a good idea," Julian said as they pulled up in front of his parent's mansion. Trey looked over at him from the passenger's seat, his head lolling slightly.
"I don't care," Trey replied, the words slurring slightly, "I just wanna give them this." He waved the bottle wine in his left hand while gesturing abstractly with his right. "It helps me when i feel pain inside here," he tapped his right hand over his chest, "Maybe it will help them too. Help them to numb out everything that hurts, you know?" He reached down between his legs and pulled out another half bottle of wine and raised the bottle to his lips. The dark red fluid, bubbled as he sucked it down. When the bottle was empty, he pulled it away with a loud smack and sigh. "See?" he asked Julian, "All numb inside. I don't feel any pain. I am a-ok now. Perfectly fine."
He heard Julian sigh distantly as he swing open the car door and tried to get out. Julian got out and came around to his side. Julian looked at him for a bit as he floundered in the seat, unable to get his footing and then he was pulled up and out. Julian kicked the door shut.
"Hey!" Trey protested, waving a hand at the car.
"I'll fix it later," Julian said, as he slung Trey's arm over his shoulders. Trey tried to walk but his legs seemed to be made of wood and didn't support his weight. they weaved their way up the drive to the the large mahogany front door. They stood before it for some long seconds. Trey felt as if he were swaying in a light breeze.
"Do you think this is a good idea?" He asked Julian. Julian gave him an incredulous look and then reached over to ring the bell. They waited again, listening to the sound of the doorbell dying away. Trey was beginning to feel nauseous now. He knew that his parents were checking him out through the security system. He hoped they would come to the door quickly because he was going to throw up soon. Then the door opened and his parents stood framed in the doorway.
"What do you want?" his Father asked. Trey saw the angry red around his neck and the faint outline of a heel. He winced. He opened his mouth to say something, felt bile burnt his throat and decided against words. He thrust out his hand with the wine bottle. His parents looked at him in disbelief. He sighed mentally and realized that words would be needed after all.
"It will make you feel better," he said. they exchanged looks and his Father took the wine bottle.
"Now get out of my sight," his father said and slammed the door in his face. Trey swallowed down the bile and hurt. But in the end the bile won. He vomited on his mother's prize rose bushes. He was pretty sure that Julian choose that particular spot too.
Joel was the one that made the call. Trey appreciated that he was the one that did it because Joel didn't beat around the bush or utter stupid sentiments. He had a raging hangover headache; hearing small talk would have driven him insane.
"Your parents are dead," Joel said and then gave him directions to the morgue. Apparently the police has responded to a report of sounds that sounded like gunshots. On entering the grounds they found everyone on the premises dead. So the bodies were taken to a regular morgue instead of the Family morgue and the house was now a crime scene.
"Have you made arrangements to move them?" Trey asked.
"I have but they need you here for identification and to sign the release papers," Joel replied, "How soon can you get here?"
"Give me fifteen minutes," Trey said, rubbing his forehead.
Trey rolled out of bed and scrubbed his face hard. He called Julian and then went to get dressed. They pulled into the City morgue just as Trey finished chugging down Julian's cure for hangovers.
"This stuff tastes awful," Trey gagged as he tossed the bottle in the back. Julian gave him a look but said nothing. Trey winced. "But it works." Julian gave him a small smile and let him out.
Trey set his shoulders and then walked into the morgue. Two hours later, the papers were signed and the bodies were moved. Trey promised to return and talk to the the Investigative Officer after he had his parents' bodies settled in the morgue. Also he had to agree to send them the autopsy reports after they were done. He shook hands with the Investigating Officer, supervised the moving into the Family Funeral Car and followed behind.
Joel was waiting for him at the door. Trey stood in front of him and then they both walked together to the viewing room. Joel made as if to head off but Trey reached out and took a hold of his wrist. "Come in with me," he said and walked in.
His parents were both lying side by side on the marble slab. Their bodies naked and pale, skin covered in the some laces with a mosaic of colorful bruises, knife wounds and bullet holes. Trey stood, looked down on them for a few seconds then leaned over and kissed their foreheads. When he raised back up, he slipped his hands into his pockets and turned to Joel.
"Schedule the autopsies and send the reports to the Police," Trey said lightly as he glanced at his watch, "I'll be leaving for the Station in the next two hours. That should be enough time for a grieving son to compose himself shouldn't it?"
Joel nodded. "Will you be needing anything else Sir?" Trey shook his head.
"Nothing for now," he said and then turned back to the bodies, "Kill Week is over. I won."
With those words he nodded to Joel and walked out the room with a smile.
5: The Beginning.Joel sat with a glass of wine as Trey looked over the pile of folders. Joel sipped and smiled a little at the intense look of concentration on the young man's face.
"See anything that you like?" Joel asked. Trey looked up from the folder he was reading and Joel flinched instinctively at the gaze that was level to him. Trey flicked both eyebrows up in surprise and then quickly smoothed his face into a more agreeable one. Instantly his face was transformed to the normal, friendly look that Joel was used to.
"Sorry about that," Trey smiled at him, "I forgot that you are not used to seeing me work." Joel sipped the wine; this time not in pleasure but in order to settle his nerves. Trey sighed and put down the folder. "Just a few." he said, "The other requests will not be so easy to hide my usual MO. But then I always did like a challenge." Just then Julian came in; apron stained with flour and hands smudged with icing.
"The new batch is ready Sir," he said with a grin. Trey smiled and got up; motioning Joel to follow him. They walked out of the little hidden office and into one of the Bakery Rooms. Joel took in the shiny steel ovens stacked against one equally shiny steel wall and rows of tables which were neatly sectioned off by thick industrial plastic strips. Trey slipped through one partition and exclaimed. Joel followed him to see tray of smoking bonbons. Under the table were small cupboards. Joel watched as Trey and his men pulled out a box of syringes and vials, filled the syringes and began injecting the bonbons in batches of six; refilling the syringes after each batch.
"I used these on my brother," Trey said looked over to Joel, "I know you've asked how I did it, so I'll indulge you a little." He injected six bonbons in a row before filling up the syringe again. "The bonbons are all injected with a certain amount. once all are eaten only then will the effects kick in. Eat five out of the six and nothing major will happen. The person has to eat all of them."
"what happens when they eat all?" Joel asked. Trey smiled.
"Their stomach will ulcer," Trey said, "Very, very badly. It also causes nausea and dizziness." He paused and laughed.
When they were done they moved into another section to inspect the cakes that were ready to be packaged.
"These I used on my sister," Trey said, "I'm not going to tell you what it is that I put inside them, but it opens a person for suggestion. And you don't even need to be specific. You just need to hint what you want done. Makes for really interesting phone calls."
They went through only two more sections and then they left. Trey gave some low voiced instructions to Julian and they both grinned at each other. Joel felt a shiver run down his spine at the looks that crossed both men's faces. 'And they used to say that Mical had a killer face. They never saw Trey when he is working on a contract.'
Trey rejoined Joel. "I think that i will accept all of the contracts." Joel raised his eyebrows then nodded. They walked in silence back to the Office.
"What about your parents?" Joel asked. Trey smiled a smile that drove the small one from Joel's face. It was a smile full of hate, malicious glee and pride.
"I heard stories you know," Trey said, "About how good they were. About how their skills were legendary in the game. They were some of the best contact killers in the business. They only match they ever really had for their skills were each other. So I matched them up. I just had to see if they were really as good as everyone said they were. And turns out the stories were true. They were the perfect match for and against each other."
With that Trey picked up a folder and bent his head over it, "Now about this contract..."

Chapter: 2
I did not see that coming.
This chapter was really good. I like that Trey is actually a baker. That's absolutely hilarious to me.
There weren't many mistakes besides not putting commas where they were needed. Great job!
P.S. Give the Baker family my condolences.
