Chorus:
"You'd think I'd learn from my mistakes,
so why am I still burning bridges?
You'd think I'd make it through another day,
without the need to set it all in flames."

Verse 1:
"Tattoo of a smile upon my face,
so my lips won't have to go & lie.
People who I thought would get me by,
were the ones who simply never tried.

So it's time to get the gasoline,
& light the match to make it burn,
& when I'm done, I'll walk away.
never to turn back again."

Chorus:
"You'd think I'd learn from my mistakes,
so why am I still burning bridges?
You'd think I'd make it through another night,
without the need to set it all alight."

Verse 2:
"Tattoo of my eyes above my own,
so I won't ever have to open mine.
People who I thought would see me here,
they just never tried.

So it's time to fetch the gasoline,
& set it all alight.
& when it's down I'll turn my back,
so they'd know what it feels like."

Chorus:
"You'd think I'd learn from those mistakes,
so why should I keep burning bridges?
You'd think I'd make it through another day,
without the need to find another way."

"& when I make it to another bridge,
& see the people walking by,
I'll move straight on, not looking back,

I need to learn from all my mistakes,
I can't just keep on burning bridges."
