Chapter Numbering

Hello there! I've saved my work here, but there is something bothering me. I have a chapter of my story that is divided into several part to make it easier to read. So the chapter should be like this : Chapter I Part 1, Chapter I Part 2,Chapter I Part 3. But after I put that in the chapter title and also saved the work, on the main book interface, I see "Chapter 1 Chapter I Part 1". Is it possible to enable user choose their own chapter numbering? Or maybe that is just a numbering that will not appear on the published post? I also have an idea that make the chapter numbering skip a few number just for fun of the story. Well, thank you for reading this!

  • There are users that wrote poetry as well and chapter might not be the right term if they divide each poem into a new 'chapter'. I'll bring this up with the team

  • Hi Shad12ow, the default chapter numbering in the table of contents has now been disabled if your chapter title has 'chapter' in it already. I hope this solves your problem. If not please let us know.

  • Sorry for the late reply. It seems like that the default is still there. I wanted to put "Chapter I Part 1 "The Merchant's Beginning" but after I saved it the title changed into "Chapter 1: Chapter I Part 1 "The Merchant's Beginning".

  • The change was only made to the book details page. From what you said it looks like you were in the book edit page. Makes no matter as we've changed all chapter numbering to just include the number and the word 'Chapter' has been removed. Does this work for everyone or would you rather have an option to show default chapter numbering for each book?
