  • Life, photos and music. Life is because each one story based on people, and if you don't look around yourself you'll write stamps only. Photos help to imaginate atmosphere and details of some places and moving characters - Google is my friend. Music is necessary to create a mood of scene, feelings of the characters and their reactions. I use OSTs often and music only without words, sometimes I need sound of nature. I have 60Gb music files for writing. Sometimes inspirations comes when I read hystorical materials, medieval literature and medival law cases (for example I knew about woman who win the case about her husband's castle and got a rights to inheritance by her daughter. And her opponent was an archibishop. This a cool story!)

  • Everything, really. I get a base idea from Movies/TV shows and develop from there. Also, songs. Well, not every song. Songs that actually teach a lesson or tell a story. I get inspiration from them. Pictures too. Pictures are great because they don't say anything. They show everyone a different part of themselves, and I think that's a great base for a story.

  • Nature. I generally get all the ideas for my story after being outside.

  • I can get inspiration from the randomest stuff. Generally, books or movies are big ones because you can take one little bit from them and spin into something entirely different, but even just things people say offhandedly can prompt an idea.

  • I have numerous sources, but a few things that hit me nicely are; re-reading Harry Potter, watching Xena or Once Upon a Time, reading Fables comics, and listening to Selena and Abba. Other than that it's all random, things just floating in my head because I think for the sake of thinking, and sometimes dreams. For example I was recently thinking about elves and underground kind of like they were portrayed in Hellboy II. That line of thought brought me to Lord of the Rings elves which made me think of the literal meaning of 'middle earth' and thus an idea about the core of the earth being another world within the world came to mind. (And yes I am aware of journey to the center of the earth) I was just thinking about a populated underground world and what kind of adaptations the beings that live down there would have.

  • This is actually something that I hold near and dear to my heart. Inspiration does, for a lot of people, come from various sources. Though for me personally it's all in the music. This is probably why I've killed my taste in music, especially pop and such. Being a fantasy writer I listen to a lot of music that would put me in a fantasy setting, mostly Two Steps From Hell. Though inspiration is weird for me. I listen to the music and a scene plays out in my mind, I listen to this song like a dozen times and when the scene is fully played out I begin writing down what I thought. From there I write it into the story. So that's how I get my inspiration! Without two steps from hell and ost's from movies and shows I don't know where I'd be in my writing.

  • I get my inspiration from everywhere, but mainly from my dreams and my hopes for the future, and sometimes music. One time, one of my friends and I were talking about religion and I had a great idea for a story with different dimensions and whatnot.

  • Everything. I live to say that even the dumbest things(I mean literally so dumb that it's annoying) can give you real knowledge. then I use all that knowledge to jot something down. occasionally with some music to imagine a scene before writing it.

  • hmm... well for authors that inspire me I'd have to say Stephen King is an author I look up to. Not only is a successfull horror/thriller author but his books and characters and ideas are very unique. You can tell how amazingly creative his mind is by reading his work. For my writing inspirations I tend to by inspired by all sorts of things. All The way from dreams I have, nature, imagination, creativity, and I stride for uniqueness in my writing. but yeah thought I'd put a few things that inspire me :)

  • I'd like to say I get my inspiration from beautiful, classic things like music, nature or dreams, but really it's the most random and weird stuff that pushes my thoughts in the right direction. Recently I happened to watch a silly video on youtube with a tortoise attacking a cat, what led to seeing a vid of a dolphin happily trying to hump his instructor - and that's how an idea for the story popped into my mind. Quite disturbing, huh?

  • For me its music and nature, mostly. Or something that sparks an emotional reaction. My current project came to be after reading a few historical novels, were young girls at 14 years old were married to men, especially in power. There are some aspects of our history that I really don't like. So me and my daughter created a word of our own. One where we could add our own rules and put a side some of the darker side of reality.

  • My brain inspires me. No I'm serious, it just does, normalest of normal days in the world where I'm just sitting around, when suddenly, Mr. New Idea pops into my head and goes "Hello!" I also get a lot of inspiration from music, nature, games, and technology in general.

  • Anything and everything can spark inspiration for me. That, and I can never stop thinking. Ever. Heck, I think so much that my thoughts leak into my dreams.

  • I think music inspires me the most. you can take a song and just transform it into a story. I like ballads or classical music because they are easier to work with. Life experience is very important too. Every man or woman I see on the street or meet has a different experience and I like to listen to their stories and after that, create my own. And I do have a big imagination because sometimes, it comes from nowhere. Dreams help a lot. They twist whatever you had seen or heard and make it original. Very original.

  • My inspiration came from Mother, Naruto and my favorite eras I'm grateful I got to experience. As well as the music I grew up with.
