Genevieve Middleton

Hello. My name is Genevieve, but I'm almost always called Gen because people are too lazy to say Genevieve. Personally, I have no preference so call me whatever you want. But not Genny. I hate Genny.

Other than that, there's nothing interesting about me to say. I'm a very boring crazy cat lady in the making :P

Retrograde Heartbreak

I'm a 21 years old female from the USA with a desire to create.

I've been writing for as long as I can remember and love the writing community. I love the willingness to help others that every author I've met has. I'll help if I can because I find that my strong suits. when it comes to critiquing, consist of noticing plot holes and empty characters, correcting scene arrangements and having a Reader's and Writer's perspective.

I have a club started for the technical aspects of story writing, (ex. plot creation, prologues, dialogue, etc...)

PM me if you want me to take a look at your story or if you have any questions concerning my method of critiquing.

If you want comments, you should enable the copy feature.  This permits the reviewer to offer examples from the text of the problem she is discussing.

========

I live in California and I tend to use American grammatical conventions; yes, some British style/vocabulary creeps in but often I'm not consciously inserting them.

I cannot enjoy poorly written, ungrammatical text.  I tend to give a story a chance, and if I wince too often, I stop reading it.

So since I can make no sense of the rating and reviewing systems, I just review on a chapter by chapter basis.  No stars, just comments.

"...read some published novels, and try telling me you don't see them use some of the same comma placement and capitalization..."  -- I do see that, but I don't accept them, nor am I likely to imitate such practices.  Publishing firms don't have grammar books:  they have style books.  The purpose of a style book is conformity, not correctness.   The Chicago Manual of Style is a good example.  Grammar books offer advice on --yes-- grammar..  Failing your own copy of Eats Shoots and Leaves or The Transitive Vampire or Woe is I  there are some on-line sites.  The Purdue OWL is one.  For specific topics check out:  http://absolutewrite.com/forums/showthread.php?133858-Dialog-Punctuation-and-Capitalization  under Syntax and Grammar; Brians Errors is an amusing site.    And of course, there is the lemming comment:  Just because X does Y doesn't mean you should.

Oko San

My name's Oko-san and I like writing stories for people to enjoy. You see, my overall goal is to make people stuck in a fantasy world where they yearn to be in and if anything, be happy on to what I've given. I will gladly give you advice on anything (Thought, I'm still learning literature myself!) or to have a small conversation if you PM me. I know I've neglected this account (and many others), but I'm mainly active on Quotev. I'm trying to set up a 'decent' schedule  for myself where I mainly update on Quotev first and copy&paste onto here and other accounts every Friday (And if I don't; you have the full rights to call me a chicken). You can also contact me on Wattpad. I don't mind working together (Simply giving out ideas, because I don't know if having two authors work here)  nor mind helping you. It's understandable to have a good hook on readers into reading such good books. Again, I apologize for neglecting this account. Here is what I have planned in 2015:

1) Dune:Cursive Shadows- This is one of my most important story projects I have planned for quite sometime. It used to be 'A Blessing Curse', but I changed the direction of the story since I notice a lot of people didn't seem attracted to it nor giving no comments whatsoever on how it was or the progress. It takes place in Nashville, TN where in third-perspective view, a lady named Penny must find out what happened to a party, she attended to, and how it's been wiped under the rug. [PLACED ON HOLD]

2) [REDOING] Deféndu- I decided to redo it since my writing has improved and I didn't like my sudden ending rush. Plus I'll be attempting to upload pictures of the characters in my album, see how that would work out...  This story is based off an crazy anime I saw once and inspired me to one of my own.

3) Pastro:Risen- A more of a serious type fantasy, in which will be in first person. Still in development.

*There is more stories, but I would like to complete them first before placing them here. Have a good day!

I'm not sure what so say about myself. I never truly liked writing these things but i'll give it a shot

I am a writer of sorts. I mainly do it for hobby purposes. I am currently working on a 5 piece series and its a long and arduous process.
