Phoenix and her mum are in a world of debt. Phoenix gives her job to her mum and goes looking for another one, a long with another way to travel. She discovers skateboarding and with the help of her friends, she becomes the towns first skater chick. Along the way, she goes through some though times but also finds herself in love. She struggles to keep her life in balance and turns to her new hobby for answers.
