Chapter 1

Will I ever get over you

(Inspired by the song “ Over you By: Marianda Lambert)

Lexie Johnson looked out the window at the moon as she listened to the radio play another sad song. It seemed as if all day long that was all she had been listening to. But in fact she was the one that turned to the station just to listen to the songs. Mostly because everything she had on her Ipod reminded her of him. Some of the songs on there she'd added because they reminded her of when they first become friends.

Lexie sighed as she leaned her head back against the wall and though back to the last couple of hours. Things had been tense between them for a while now and with graduation just on the horizon things were starting to change. They had made plans and talked always about the things they were going to do together after school. He was going into the auto shop business and she was going into the business along with another of their friends. It had always been good between them they'd been best friends since she was in sixth and he was in fifth. But now that she was about to leave him she didn't know what to do.

They'd never been apart long enough to not know what it was like. Sure he had moved away twice but he'd come back a few months later so they never really did get time away from each other. As Lexie sat at the window she just wanted time to stop for a while because didn't want to leave him. He had been the closest thing she had to a brother her own age. They were just six days apart in age and shared a lot of stuff in common.

They both loved music he liked rap and R&B, she liked Country and pop. But they both were big fans of the same rapper. But they were also very different. He like to draw, she like to write, he wore baggy clothes, she was jeans and T-shirts. He was out going , she was the loner. He was the bad boy she was the good girl (even though she was know to get into trouble). Sure as they got older especially when they reached high school she hung out with different people and made other friends. But that didn't change anything between them.

Yes they were different but both had similar pasts. But they had been what made their friendship so strong was things they had in common. It was when he'd started pulling away that Lexie realized things were starting to change. He had stop sitting with her in math class and started hanging out with the boys and people in his own grade. A few week ago she had been joking with him about asking him to go to prom with her. An things seemed to have gotten back to normal. But she could tell something was bugging him.

The last thing Lexie wanted to do was leave him behind. But her mom told her that at some point she was going to have to tell him good bye. It had been hard doing that when she'd gone into high school without him. But this time it was different. Because this time they wouldn't see each other the follow year. Lexie couldn't take the paint of leaving him behind. Tomorrow was her last day and she didn't want to have to face him. Lexie sighed as she took out a sheet of note book paper and began to write him a note. Which she'd planned on asking the lady in the office to give to him.

Dear Liam,

I never though I'd have to leave my best friend behind. I don't want to believe me. Leaving you is the hardest thing I have ever had to do. We've been threw so much together tell next year won't be the same with out you. I'm going to that Jr. College about an hour or so away so I can come home on weekends and catch up. Please don't be mad at me. I never wanted to say goodbye to anyone especially you of all people. Take care of yourself and remember I'm always here

As she finished writing the letter Lexie felt the tears prickling in her eyes. She knew he would hat her after he read the letter and she didn't blame him if he did. Lexie knew that distance and time would change them no question. She just hoped it wouldn't change them because the last thing she ever wanted to say was

“Will I ever get over you?”
