WARNING: Cursing

Cursed One

My wine splattered across the velvet crimson curtains as I gagged and choked. I hit the cold hard stone floor losing feeling to my body. It seemed as if my soul had abandoned me. I felt a strange force tightening its grip around my head. My vision started to fade fast as I yelled with all the energy I have left "Help…..me…!" Even though it sounded as a whisper a red pinkish knight with a white feather atop his helmet came bursting through my chamber's door. He removed his helmet as he kneeled beside my lifeless body. "Evelyn I can't lose you! Not yet! You're my last sister left!" the knight choked the last words with tears.

Ragen raced down the castle's elaborated halls. He carried the fallen princess Evelyn in his arms. His red pink armor clanged each step he took.

The silver moon's eerie light went through the castle's colored windows which made soft purple shadows. It looked as if they tried to grab Evelyn's silky gown embroidered with gleaming sapphires.

Ragen almost tripped on Evelyn's long wavy golden hair. "Why does she have to have her hair so long?" he thought as he finally reached his father's chamber.

The king was in a deep peaceful slumber. He snored happily with his aging wife. "Father wake up this is urgent!" Ragen whispered loudly. Ragen's father jolted out of the bed looking rather upset as he rose from the hard stone floor. His sharp gaze softened as he saw his daughter breathing hoarsely. "What happened?" the queen gasped as worry pierced her heart. "I heard her fall in her bedroom." Ragen explained quickly. As she got the response tears ran down her face thinking her last daughter is dead.

Ragen's father approached the lifeless body of his daughter. He gripped tightly to her pale black blue hand. "She is not dead. She's under a curse." the king stated as hope burned bright in his eyes. "What!?" Ragen exclaimed. "I don't know who would want to harm a sweet girl such as her. But, if we find this person he or she will rot in prison!" Ragen's father shouted angrily. "Take her to Skome the god of life and do anything he says in order to bring her back. I would go, but as you see I'm not as young as I used to be. You should go now there's not much time left." the king said still wanting to crack the skull to whoever did this to his beloved daughter. "I will father. I'll go get supplies, maps, and Athina ready." he called out as he headed out. "Be strong Evelyn…" Ragen's mother murmured.

Dawn broke the starry night sky with its streaks of orange and blue colors. The sun finally rose into the sky.

Athina whinnied impatiently as she claws at the ground that created small dust clouds. She awaited for Ragen to bring the last of the supplies for their long journey to save Evelyn from the terrible curse she has upon her.

Athina is a dragon and Pegasus crossing with the body and head of a Pegasus, the sharp claws of a dragon, the hooves of a graceful Pegasus, and the wings of both a Pegasus and a dragon.

The morning's light made Athina's scales and feathers glisten like new snow. She breathed heavily as she puffed out frosty air.

"How long is Ragen going to keep me waiting? This lump of a girl is starting to hurt my back!" Athina complained silently.

A dark silhouette emerged from the shadows carrying a bundle of items. "Well, Athina I think it's high time that we set out." he said as he placed the large bundle of supplies atop Athina's back. She snorted in annoyance as he mounts her. "You're so lucky I'm able to carry all this stuff and your fat ass." she thought as he clicked signaling to go. Athina galloped to a fast start and glided off a steep cliff. Athina soared through the puffy white clouds with her wings flapping in a rhythmic beat. This was the beginning of their quest.

Twilight began to arrive. The orange golden sky changed into a midnight blue, and faded little lights began to appear. The frost constantly nipped at Ragen's ankles. Athina seemed to be unaffected by the frigid temperatures. "How can she stand this?" Ragen thought envying her immunity. Athina simply grinned as he glared at her.

Dark ascended as the pair flew effortlessly into the night. Everything was silent and calm. "This is unnatural… I feel something big coming this way." Athina whispered to Ragen her pupils wide with fear. Ragen gently stroked her neck as he tried to soothe her. "Athina, I'm sure we can handle it." Ragen said reassuringly.

A large screech boomed in the air that almost made Athina fall in midair. Over the horizon Ragen saw a black knight with beaming yellow eyes that rode a small red wyvern. The fearsome two rode past them as the knight commanded the wyvern to get Athina out of the sky. Athina dodged the wyvern's attempts to tear her wings. "You have the aim of a drunkard!" Athina sneered. The ebony knight snarled as he raised his war ax to behead Athina. Ragen blocked the blow with his heavy armor as he jumped on the wyvern. "Athina circle the wyvern from a distance and make sure nothing falls off!" Ragen yelled over the bellows of the wyvern. "You forgot your sword idiot!"Athina hissed angrily. Ragen ignored her as he raced down the scaly back of the wyvern and knocked the knight off of the wyvern.

Athina made a tight turn and managed the heavy weight of Ragen's armor as he dropped on top of her. The wyvern saw its master fell and swooped down to get him. Athina didn't hesitate to look back. Ragen and Athina fled very far from them hoping that was the saw of them.

A glowing crystal orb floated near its keeper's hands. His eyes glinted in amusement as he saw Athina and Ragen traveling toward his domain. "Fools, you're heading right into my trap. I'll soon be the only main and true god of this pathetic world." he snickered to himself.

A weak and feeble wheeze came from the ground. "Brother….why?" the voice hacked. The other one grinned as he bent down to torture the poor soul even more. "Idiot, I only want power. I would be a far better god than you would ever be." replied the brother. "You ... monster… you will… be slain Xhaos." the other brother coughed with hate igniting in his clouded eyes. Xhaos's grin faded from his face. His voice suddenly became icy as he said "No it will be you who will be slain." He raised his fist in the air and struck down. A horrible cry filled the air.

The sea gently splashed against the shattered earth of the floating castle. Seagulls circled high above waiting for the flying fish to spew into air.

Athina gently landed on the cracked stone path to the castle. "I feel like I haven't walked in years! Also, this place is a dump." Athina thought aloud as she examined the ruins covered in moss and mold. Ragen rolled his eyes and checked on Evelyn's condition. She was worse. Her once peach skin was now inky black, and scales replaced her soft skin.

"I hope Skome can do something." Ragen sighed. He dismounted Athina and carried Evelyn. "I hope we didn't come here for nothing." Athina whinnied.

Inside the castle there was tarnished books and furniture. There was no stone floor instead there was squishy slime. "I bet this Skome guy is real slob."Athina complained as she tried to scrape the yellow gunk off her hooves and claws.

"Well why are you still here?" a voice boomed. A giant eagle revealed himself from the shadows. "You must be Skome." Ragen said. "That's correct." Skome replied. "Your grace could you possibly lift the curse my sister has upon her." Ragen pleaded. "Depends on what you offer me." Skome said. "I don't have much lord –"Ragen was cut off as Skome said "Be gone with you then." "Wait just a minute! We've been through some tough shit lately! I've been carrying loads of crap on my back for oh I don't know two weeks, and you're not going to even try to help Evelyn at all!" Athina protested.

"Silence! If you are so persistent then go and give me the three dragon stones. Then I might help you."Skome hissed. "Thank you lord, but what are dragon stones?" Ragen asked. "Ignorant fools. They are three stones created before time. Each one has an important role of how the Earth was created, and that is fire, water, and earth. They are guarded by three ancient dragons Eakarth, Infernos, and Aquaria." Skome said annoyed about how little these mortals know.

"That's wonderful and all, but how do we get there?" Athina butted in. "Here." Skome flicked a small little amber at them. "It will guide you just hold it up at the sun's light." Skome said.

"We'll be off lord." Ragen called out as he mounted Athina.

Skome snickered to himself "Just some good acting and lying gets them to do just want you want."

Chapter 6

Ragen held the little violet gem to the radiating sun. A brilliant light led to a distant volcano across the splashing sea.

"We have to go there?" Athina asked with a hint of worry in her voice.

"Yes if you want to help Evelyn." Ragen answered.

Athina sighed reluctantly while Ragen mounted her. She outstretched her white feathered wings, and took off into the navy blue sky.

"At least it's not that far away." Ragen said as he attempted to enlighten Athina's mood.

Athina grunted in agreement when the volcano came into sight.

The two landed on the rocky coast of the miniature island. Geysers squirted hot water and steam. Light quakes rumbled from the volcano throughout the area.

"I won't be able to fly up high to the volcano with this heat." Athina snorted.

"We should probably climb then." Ragen said.

"By we you mean me." Athina growled in annoyance.

"Fine I'll climb by myself if it makes you stop complaining." Ragen replied.

"I don't complain." Athina protested while Ragen started to climb the scaling wall of sizzling rock.

"Wait for me." Athina called out to Ragen. He stopped, and waited for her. Athina was rather… clumsy on the ragged rocks. Ragen snickered at her fourth attempt to climb the sheering rocks.

"What took you so long?" Ragen said while he tried to stop giggling.

"Oh would you just shut up." Athina whacked Ragen in the side of his head with her tail.

"Ow!" Ragen shouted. Athina seemed rather pleased with herself.

After hours of the grueling climb the pair reached the top of the steaming volcano, which had what they were after the fire dragon stone. They stared in awe at the ruby like stone that glistened in the magma. Suddenly, a large roar rumbled in the lava. A massive gilded dragon rose from the depths of the volcano.

The dragon bellowed "Return from whence you came!"

"No, we only want the stone." Ragen pointed to the beautiful jewel like stone.

The golden dragon hissed "Never, you greedy human!" With that the dragon smashed his fist right into Athina and Ragen. The powerful impact made the piece of hard earth that they were standing on fell straight into the heart of the volcano. A mere ledge saved them from their fiery death.

Athina and Ragen were dazed by the blow. Just when they regained their senses an inferno wall of fire headed straight to them. Athina jumped between the fearsome fire ball, and her beloved friend Ragen with certainty in her eyes. She knew what to do.

Chapter 7

Athina created a protective ice barrier just when the massive fire ball was about to make impact. There was an explosion of ice crystals and fire. Fog then was created by the two powerful elements.

Athina coughed and was wild eyed. "Ragen!" she cried. "Are you alive!?"

No answer. Athina frantically searched for Ragen. She then saw a giant faint figure in the faint as she strained her eyes to look for Ragen. She guessed that the explosion knocked out the dragon because it wasn't moving.

Suddenly, a loud shriek came out of nowhere. "Athina, you stepped on my eye!" The familiar voice said.

Athian spun around and snarled. "Didn't you hear me!? You idiot made me worried that you were dead!"

Ragen rubbed his swollen eye and said. "Well, if you didn't notice I was unconscious."

Athina growled. "Shut up and let's get out of here before that thing tries to eat us."

The two then bolted out of the volcano like lightning. During the journey back to the floating castle Ragen felt as if he forgotten something, and then he face palmed himself.

"What's wrong with you?" Did I cause you brain damage or something?" Athina asked.

"No, we forgot the jewel." Ragen sighed.

Athina stopped and whined "Are you kidding me! We have to go back to that deranged dude!

"Yes, let's just go back." Ragen sighed again.

Athina grumbled and turned back to the island.
