timeless chapter 1

Chapter one
It's hard to explain to your brother, who is only four at the time, why people get older. As time passes for him and he comes to realize that it doesn't for me, that his sister is the same as they were when he was four. Nearly two and a half centuries haven passed since my 16th birthday and I haven't changed a bit... That's right I haven't aged either. My brothers and sister have long since left this world. My parents have been gone for ages.
Before my youngest brother, Jacob, passed away I vowed to him that I would forever watch over his children and our brother and sister's family as well. However I have isolated myself in order to protect them from harm and from ever gaining the knowledge of my existence. My kin have never known that I exist in this world, and I plan to keep it that way for an eternity. The burden of living for so long has begun to take its toll on my very soul. I have starved myself to try and end this curse; I have tried every suicidal thing humanly possible; hanging, drowning, overdoses, blood letting, blunt force trauma, even having a train pass over me hasn't worked Now I know that I am forever damned to live and walk on this forsaken planet.
Some mortals would claim me to be a vampire, ghost, demon, or some other supernatural being, but I am none of these things. Even though these creatures of darkness do exist in this world, I am not associated with any of those seductive species.
I can feel my self-losing my sanity every waking day and restless night. I wish to end my suffering peacefully and hope that one day my heart will fail in my sleep, although that hope dwindles by the day.
I long to see the smiling faces of my siblings, feel the warm embrace of my parents, but most of all, I miss the touch of my late husband and the laughter of my little girl. Yes, I was married long ago. In the year 1738, two years after my 16th birthday, I met a baker who always smelled of fresh bread and sweets. We met, fell in love, got married and had a child. My only child and my beloved died not because I had out lived them but because of disease. I looked on helplessly as my husband's emerald eyes turn pastel green, witnessed his last breath, heard his final words, they were for me as always.
"Margaret, I love you, I love you so much. Do not let our daughter's death and my passing end your life! Please move on and find love again once you are ready... Even if it takes you a century to find him." My dear sweet Henry begged in gasps, tears streaming across his pale cheeks.
" I love you dear, I love you more than you could ever know. I do not want you to leave. Henry please!" I sobbed, feeling as though my very heart were being crushed by a giant's hand. If only it were that simple, I would have torn out my heart and died with my husband, but the world is cruel and didn't work that way..
" I love you. My dear, sweet Margaret, I will see you in god's kingdom, I know it. I love you. I. Love. You." And with one last heaving rasp. My darling husband, Henry, left this world, left this world and left me.

Chapter 2

My Henry was the last person to know of my lasting life. He did not care that disease never touched me, or thatwhen I fell from the roof and cracked open my skull, I would still live. Henry was only 25 when he died, and my little girl was 6 when she passed in her sleep from fever.

It took nearly two hundred years for the mindnumbingsorrow and despair to show any signs of lifting but at least it did and that showed promise, did it not?

It is now the year 2013 and the world has become quite strange, much stranger than the one I was born into, musicians of all sorts have emerged, people such as 'LadyGaGa' and 'Katy Perry'., Various technologies entrap and entrance the world, the latest trend being something called an 'IPhone' from a company named after a fruit. A fruit of all things, would you believe that? Apple is the company's name and its products are exorbitantly priced yet still people buy them.

Technology has also advanced far passed what I had ever thought possible, especially in this place calledAmerica; there is medicine that can cure multiple diseases and discomforts, things that consumed many, many lives. Schooling has changed drastically, girls are now allowedto learn alongside boys so I guess that it's not so bad here. For the past 70 years I have been moving around Asia, Europe and Africa. Staying hidden from people who may figure out my secret. However it seems that I have been having thoughts of telling some one of my misery once again. I feel so alone in this cruel world and even though it could be dangerous to say anything to anyone, I moved back to America.

The first thing I do once I return is go to see my beloved'sgrave and my baby's tombstone.

After an hour of driving to the grave site from the shipping yards of the Atlantic coast, I manage to find the section for historical graves. Dressed in a black dress and holding two bouquets of flowers, I step out of my vehicle and begin walking towards my husband's grave first.

"Hello Henry. I've brought you a gift for our wedding anniversary. Also some flowers for Bell's birthday." I whisper to the empty air. I choke on the tears that threaten to run down my cheeks.

I turn to look at my daughter's grave and say, "Bell? Mommy loves you and misses you so very much; I promise that one day I will join you in god's kingdom…someday. I promise you." I pause to hold back the salty rain that blurs my sight, with a sigh I state a simple congratulations of birth to my child and return to my vehicle.

Once I've made it back to my Cadillac, I make my way to the trunk and pull out a picnic basket and blanket. I return to the grave site, flap open the gray sheet and tuck my legs under me. Sitting down with the brown basket in hand. "Look dear, it's the basket that we made together for our picnics. Somehow I managed to keep it well preservedafter all these years. Also I packed garden salad from the garden and I smoked some fish over the fire, I even made the honey bread from your cook book." I smile at the things I managed to grab from my old house out in the woods, glad that they had been preserved so well and hadn't fallen prey to bandits. After all these items were the last things I have from my family, everything else has decayed and/or burned during the wars.

Chapter three

My thoughts were interrupted suddenly by a cough which in turn startled me. "Who is there!" I demanded the stranger that lurked in the shadows of trees. The figure replied with a chuckle. This pissed me off, "coward! Show yourself at once!" I yelled.

"Now is that anyway to talk to someone who wishes to simply HELP an immortal get their wish?" The figure replied slyly with a thick Russian accent. Confused and curious, I stand and begin walking towards the figure. My gut was telling me that something was not right about this situation. I stop a few feet from where he was standing.

"Come out of there, if you wish to discuss a deal... I would prefer to talk to you face to face." I state confidently. After a prominent sigh the man stepped out of the shadows to reveal that he had a marvelous profile about him. Thick red hair, pale
fair skin, stubble on his chin, magnificent onyx eyes. He was very tall, possibly a foot taller than I, and lean too.

"Now first order of business, what is your name?" The strange man questioned. "I am Margeret Andreana Elric." I state using my native tongue to answer the man in front of me.
"Ah" he says with wonder. "So your family is Scottish, they chose names for you from the Gaelic era of your people. What was your husbands name?" The man has truly pissed me off at this point and I begin to curse at him in my native language. Who is this man and why does he wish to help me? Why does he wish to know the name of my late husband?

I see that he begins to retreat a little, possibly due to my language. I stop yelling and sigh heavily. "You may not know his name at this time. What is your name?" I ask the tall redheaded Russian.
He responds using his native tongue as well. "My name is Ivan Dimitri Koznetsov. My family is from Russia."

"Alright Mr. Koznetsov, what do you wish to discuss?" I say with exasperation, I notice that my feet are beginning to hurt from my shoes, I ask Mr. Koznetsov to follow me back to my picnic blanket so then I am more comfortable in his presence.

Sitting down with the strange man across from me he states, "I would prefer to be called Dimitri, ."
"And I, Margret," I retort.
"Now what is it you wish to discuss Mr. Kozne- I mean Dimitri?"

"I know what you are, Margret." Dimitri says flawlessly. I feel a tingling sensation in my head when he talks, I feel very comfortable with him here just talking to me.
'Why do I feel like I know of him?' I thought.
When I don't react to his statement he continues with," Do you wish to know what you are?"

Anger fuels my words. "Of course you fool!" I spew with venom. Forget what I said before, this Dimitri character has done nothing but infuriate me the moment I heard his voice! This is quiet ridicules!

"I would gladly tell you, however, you must calm yourself! Mrs. Elric, you have the soul of a fallen angel."

"What?" I reply

"I am the…. What?!" I say with shock.

"You heard me Ms. Margret; you possess the soul of a fallen angel." Dimitri states with calm encasing his deep voice. Confusion fogs my thoughts and questions begin to plague my mind. Dimitri must see the confusion and fear that is plastered on my face because he breaks the silence with, "do you understand what a soul such as yours does to it's… 'Host'?"

"Of course not Mr. Koznetsov" I continue on with formality.

"Well," he sighs with a hint of regret and satisfaction, "You shouldn't age again for at least another 800 years and even then you would begin the aging process at an excruciatingly slow rate," Dimitri seems almost fascinated with his own words, almost too fascinated.

"And tell me Mr. Koznetsov, why should I believe a single word you say?" I ask with professionalism coating my voice. And then he looks at me with a childish grin with teeth made of pearl sparking at me.
"Because I am the one that has the answers. Also I know of many others with...similar situations like yours. Because I can be a very important ally, and for the icing on the cake I am very good looking," he winks at me and I can not resist the erge to laugh.

As my eyes tear and my side aches from the laughter I notice that Mr. Koznetsov is chuckling right along with me. "I do not think it was that funny bit at least I got you to loosen up a little," he wipes a tear from his gorgeouse lashes and shines a smile at me. We remain silent for only a few moments when suddenly I hear static and a female voice speaking.

" Ivan, this is lily, have you found the target." The woman's voice startled Ivan and he fumbled with the walkie talkie on his belt and spoke into it with great professionalism.

" Affirmative, target has been located and given information about her orgins, over." We waited another moment before the woman responded.

"oh thank The Lord, Ivan has she agreed to join our forces or do we need to offer her a eager like the last guy?" Said the static cover voice. I only stare at Ivan, deciding what step to take next. "Well?" The Russian asks, I think on all of the posibilities that one single answer could create. Then I ponder on the constituencies that would occur if I chose to except this new responsibility. I begin to shake my head but then I think twice ' what do I have to lose? i can't die, none of my family knowa of me and never will, my wealth will go to my families if I should die.'

" I will join your group ," and with that he shows me his pearly white once more. He speaks into the hand held device once more, "she will be joining us so please host a feast in her honor tonight when I get to HQ with our guest. This is Ivan Koznetsov, over and out."

Chapter 5

After a long time of following behind Dimitri along twisted and warped roads, my Impala screeches to a halt at a black iron gate. I witness the tall redhead jump from his vehicle and rush to the gate. After speaking into a machine by the 9 foot rods, the heavy gate open with a whine. Once the remainder of the ride is over I see one of the most beautiful views I have ever encountered. I see a large mansion made of crimson bricks incased with green veins made from ivy, the house is sheltered by trees that look to be older than myself.

As I step out of my car two large hands gently turn my head to face the direction of a crystal blue lake. The now orange sun casted a heavenly glow on top of the water. The sunset itself was breathe taking, with orange, pink and purple clouds engulfing the red sun. The air here felt so cool and crisp, 'it is perfect here.' I thought in a whisper so then I would not interrupt too much of the silence in my head.

Then, as if he knew I was in a trance, a deep accented voice began to try and pull my spirit back to earth. A large calloused hand grasped onto my cover shoulder with such gentleness. With soft words he speaks, "Welcome to my home, hopefully you with grow to love it as much as everyone else." He gives me a gentle smile that is filled with hope, I can’t help but smile back. My shoulder began to tingle with electricity where his cores hand was placed, 'What is wrong with me? I'm getting flustered!'

I heard the front door to the crimson house creak open, then there was a soft yet firm voice calling out to us. I turn my attention to a woman with gorgeous raven hair and purple eyes? 'Strange' thought to myself. The petite woman stepped closer to us, more like wobbled, in her long blue laced gown. The shape of the dress fit her form perfectly and reviled a rounded belly. Her skin was white as the moon and translucent due to pregnancy, she is glowing.

"Damn-it Ivan Dimitri Koznetsov! Where the hell have you been!" she demanded, this would be my queue to pop out from behind the giant and say hello. "Hi, I am terribly sorry for our tardiness but Mr. Koznetsov here is not the best at giving directions," I state with formality. She simply looked at me and suddenly had a warm and welcoming smile on her pale face. “Oh my! You’re Margret, it’s so wonderful to have you finally here,” exclaimed the large stomached woman with a bright smile contrasted upon her pale features. That’s when I notice her eyes, they are the most beautiful shade of violet I have ever seen. And her hair is black like the night sky.

“Oh where are my manners, my name is Lillian V. Crane,” she says in a velvety tone. She shows off her pearly whites once again. Suddenly a thick gruff voice of a male splits the peacefulness of the cool October air. “Lilly dear! Are they here?” then he sees the three of us and dashes over at an alarming speed. “Dear you shouldn’t be out here, you don’t have a jacket on. What if you catch a cold?” the large man complained to Lillian.

She simply looked at the platinum blonde and crimson irised man and began to scold him herself. “Honey, how many times must I explain to you that the babies are not due for another 3 months, plus I don’t get sick that easily!” The beautiful woman complained to the blonde giant.

The gargantuan simply gape, d at the pregnant woman in embarrassment due to her words. To break the ice I interrupt the silence with, “babies?” in turn Lillian replied with a beaming smile, “Twin girls, this is my first pregnancy and it has been so well, but my husband here,” she gestures to the blonde male behind her, “is constantly on my case ‘cause he’s nervous about the whole thing,” she chuckles the last part and turns away to go back into the house.

The whole night was filled with conversations with each other and songs, this night reminded me much of the banquets in the center of town for when the towns people would celebrate the good harvests every year. Feeling home sick and deeply depressed I ask Dimitri to show me my sleeping quarters, which he was more than pleased to do for “the guest of honor”.

“So Mrs. Elric, why have you decided to move back to the states,” he stated coyly. I simply stare holes in the back of his thick skull. “That is none of your concern Mr. Koznetsov.” I reply. We walk in silence and I look around the magnificent walls of this fine mansion. Every three feet were pictures of a family smiling happily at the camera or children running in fields. I stop my walking to stare at a large portrait of a meadow with insects and birds flying in the sky. Huge trees fill the background of the clearing and the sky itself is a pristine blue. “Beautiful isn’t it?” I feel warm breathe against my neck, turning my head slightly I notice that Dimitri’s face is next to mine staring at the gorgeous picture in front of us. “Who made this Magnificent scene?” I question him. He smirks at me and straightens to his full height.

“Do you remember meeting Lilly earlier this evening?” I nod my head to answer, never taking my eyes of the sight in front of me. “Well, her husband, Jackson, is an artist and commissions for people, normally he wouldn’t paint without gaining a profit but I asked him to paint me a picture worth framing. A few months later I got this, and it took my breath away, it seems so real doesn’t it?”

“Yes, yes it does. But why doesn’t he paint for free?” I ask in astonishment, a man who is excellent in any form of art defiantly has my respect. My Henry was crafty when decorating cakes and baking bread. “He needs the money to pay off his family and he pays for everything that he and Lilly do for their children, also it’s nice to have some pocket money.” He winks one of his pitch black eyes at me and turns to continue walking me to my new room.

Chapter 6

The room was wonderful, decorated in the most amazing shades of greens and reds I have ever seen. “So, do you like the room?” Dimitri asks in his thick accented voice. I close my gaping mouth and turn to the obnoxious Russian towering over my head. “Yes thank you, I love it, just like the house this room is quite large.” I glance back to the room and notice that there are two beds.

“Ah yes, I hope you don’t mind but you will be sharing a room with Ash,” He says with a frown and regret. “I have no problem with it, but why do you sound like it’s a bad thing?” I ask.

“Well,” he starts with a sigh. “Your room mate is kind of rebellious and she has a tendency to be rude and mischievous. She is not to be taken lightly and –.”  “Now is that any way to talk about your cousin mate?” a female with an Aussie accent interrupted the now wincing giant.

“Be a gentleman an’ introduce me to the chick that will be sharing my room with me. Ya bloody wombat.” The Aussie woman exclaimed. With a huge huff, Dimitri started, “Mrs. Elric this is my cousin-“ he was cut off once again by the Aussie. “Ashlyn Chloe Koznetsov at your service,” she says with a smirk.

Her onyx eyes shine with the thirst for adventure, her smirk would suggest that she enjoys tormenting her cousin who in turn stares bullets into her skull. She is petite, standing at just under my brow. Her hair is a fiery red and curled all over her head. She walks over to a bed in long fluent strides, plopping her body on the bed with a satisfying thud. Ash lifts her head off of the creamy white sheets and says, “Make yourself useful and make me a cup of hot chocolate,” then she plastered an evil grin and finished the sentence with venom coating the name of “Ivan”.

Dimitri’s eyes widened and glassed over, and mechanically walked out of the room stopping at the door frame. He turns his head slightly and mumbles, “As you wish dear cousin,” and left completely. Ash began to chuckle to herself, almost menacingly. “What did you just do?” I question the redheaded woman behind me. Once again she plasters that shark like grin and states, “I simply told him to make me hot chocolate, he’s willing to do as I say so long as I use his name and my ability.” She stands from the bed and strides over to me.

She glares at my features. “Well at least you’re not a site for sore eyes,” she sighs with a huff. “If I may ask,” I begin in a small voice. “What did you do to Mr. Koznetsov precisely?” I question the brute in front of me. She is quite the cheeky girl.

I hear chuckling and snap out of my thoughts once more. “You will now it all in good time Ms. Elric.” The young woman finally replies. There is a knock on the door and see lily and her round stomach enter the room after grabbing our attention. “Well, you settled in yet?” she asks me with a honey sweet voice. “Not quite yet, I still need to put my luggage away.” I reply to Lily. Her smile is gentle and caring, and she took some of my things in her slim hands and began to help me unpack. I opened my mouth to protest but she stopped me dead in my tracks. “Don’t worry, to begin with I’m hiding from my over protective husband, plus I’m happy to help new friends slash family.” She finished shortly and turned back to look at me. “You certainly travel light,” her voice hinting to an oncoming question. I beat her to it though and answer. “Well when one has lived for as long as I, they tend to realize that it is best to live without any attachments.” My voice was cold and baron of any emotions.

I hate my life, I truly despise it. I hope, deep in my heart, that no one else lives with this blasted curse. The expressions on both of the women in front of me are one of longing and sorrow. Then ash spoke with a cracking voice, “you know, living like the way we do, no one here has much choice but to never have many attachments.”

“We aren’t that much different from you Ms. Elric,” Lily says. “My children and my husband are the last attachments I have in this world,” the raven continued with a sad smile touching her red lips. Both females looked at each other and held hands as ash said, “And lily being my only best friend. No. a sister, and Ivan being my cousin, despite the fact that I torture him, I love them both because they are my family.” Suddenly a zombie walked in and handed a piping hot chocolate to Ash. “Ah, thank you my obedient giant.” The red haired teen sighs.

“God dammit woman, why do you insist on using that power of yours?!” a tall blonde male stormed into the room with ears steaming. “Do you realize what you have just done, the man came into my studio and knocked a can of paint over in which splatted all over one of my commissions! Now I have to start all over.” Jackson held his head in the palm of his hand. “I’m sorry Jay, I didn’t know he would wander.” Ash squeaked in fear. The blonde simply scowled and once again stormed out of the room.

Dimitri shook his head and seemed to finally come back to the land of the living. He looked at everyone in the room, his eyes finally settling on his cousin. “Ashlyn Chloe Koznetsov, this time I’m not holding back.” The Russian growled and the petite woman. Ash yelped and dashed out of the room with Dimitri in tow. Lily look at one another and burst into laughter, “Well they certainly are childish.” I say in between giggles.

“Oh, from what I’ve heard and seen, they can’t stand each other especially when they use their abilities on one another. When Ash ‘influences’ Dimitri, he will always chase after her to use his telepathy to do whatever she dislikes the most.” She said holding her stomach. “Such as?” I question the dark haired woman. She sighed and says, “Sometimes he’ll levitate her off the ground and spin her around until she’s nauseous from the action. She hates heights so once he just left her up in the air for a few hours.” She began to laugh again, “poor girl was scared stiff when he finally let her down, of course he was going easy on her.” Lily wiped a tear from her eye. Her smile lasted for only a few more seconds until it faded when we heard a crash come from down stairs.

We both ran out of the room in a panic. After making it to the bottom of the large staircase, I see Dimitri standing in the doorway and looking up at the sky. Lily screams when she sees Ash passed out on the lawn with blood drenching her shirt. I ran to stand next to the unconscious girl, turning my head to yell at Dimitri for his actions, however the words stay on my tongue when I look up to see five guns mean suspended in the air. Silence was all that was heard.

All men were suddenly dropped to the ground. Dimitri walked up to the group and suddenly each man had an arm forced up behind their backs. I cringe at the sound of popping and screams. “Now then, gentlemen will you tell me who sent you?” an evil and sinister grin placed on his face.
