Prologue

One World Too Far Prologue

“Dude, look at her!”
“C’mon she’s easy.”
“Yeah, you can take her, I mean it’s ‘her’.”

I sighed in frustration while turning around to see four big, bulky men standing there with cruel smirks plastered all over their ugly faces. To get home from school I had to pass a neighborhood you’d rather not go. But I had to. Good thing was that I was perfactly capable to hold my ground in a fight. A friend of mine taught me well. No guy would touch me without my consent.

I smirked. “You know.” I began “We have two options here: the first one being you leaving me alone and not getting beaten up. The second one being the exact opposite. Your choice.” I could immediately see what their choice was going to be. Hmmm, well, guess, it’s their own fault.

About ten minutes later I was walking home out of the alleyway I had just come from completely at ease, still hearing the muffled groans coming from the now bruised and beaten gang. They had it coming. Normally all the gangs know that if they should see a blonde haired girl with blue and black streaks in it, they should leave her alone ‘cause she’ll only beat them up if they tried anything.

It wasn’t as if I was evil or sadistic or something… well sometimes, maybe. But in overall I just didn’t like being bothered. But of course a girl around seventeen years old walking on her own in a dangerous area was bound to attract attention. I sighed and put in my earbuds and blasted some Black Veil Brides to drown my thoughts. When I finally got home I escaped as fast as possible to my room quickly grabbing a coke and some candy. My parents were away a lot and I didn’t like knowing the house was empty. I also sucked at cooking. So most of the time you could find me locked up in my room, listening to music or drawing my dreams in sketchy lines. I always found it soothed my lonely thoughts. I never really had much friends so music and my own mind were my only companions at this moment in my life.

I sighed in frustration when the feeling I had had since this morning had not passed away. It had only gotten stronger.
I don’t know what it was, but it was as if something was telling me something was going to change… drastically. But it scared me not knowing if it was for the better r for the worse.

Not even when I decided to go to sleep early did the feeling pass. It just stayed there gnawing at the edge of my conscience like a rat at piece of paper. A very important piece of paper you’d lost somewhere, but where all the answers were if you’d find it. At last I drifted away in darkness, feeling as if some kind of huge hand was taking me somwhere. Somewhere far away.

Little did I know how far it would be…

2: Chapter I
Chapter I

One World Too Far I

I have no idea where I was, absolutely no idea at all. The first moment I went to bed, sleeping and then when I woke up I was somewhere I'd never seen before. It was seriously creeping me out. Also given the fact that this room wasn't something you'd expect waking up in. It looked to be some kind of royal medieval bedroom. I was lying in a huge canopy bed with golden embroidery. How the hell did I ever end up in a place like this? Suddenly the dark wooden door that seemed a mile away in this huge room opened and in came a girl dressed in what seemed to be a servants dress with her arms full of clothing. She walked to the richly carved wardrobe on the left of the room and started folding all the clothes and putting to their apparent rightful places. She didn't seem to notice me at all. I wanted to attract her attention, but without frightening her. I carefully cleared throat, but before I could utter a single word the girl screamed, whirled around, stared with shocked eyes at me and then she ran out of the door completely forgetting her previous job.... That went well...
I decided to wait in this room before I'd make anymore trouble. And, hell, I didn't even know where I was, let alone I knew where I'd go! When I threw the covers off me I noticed I wore some kind of lacy dress that fell to my ankles. Don't get me wrong now, I respected the person making the dress, but honestly, I just didn't like wearing them. I got up and walked to the pile of clothes the girl had left. But when I searched through them, there wasn't a single thing that even resembled some trousers. All dresses, all medieval styled. I finally opened up the closet at the other side of the bed and saw what must've been men's clothes. I noticed some black trousers and a white puffy shirt. Perfect. I quickly put them on (having just a bit trouble with the braces on the front of the trousers) and managed to have buttoned my shirt just in time when suddenly the large double doors behind me opened. I whirled around to see a boy around my age come through. Well he didn't exactly walk in it was more like barging through and almost tearing the doors out of their hinges. He looked a bit bewildered, but when he spotted me still standing next to the huge wardrobe, he didn't hesitate a second before running up to me and almost crushing me to death when he embraced me.
"Animya, you're back. By Becloer, you're back. After all these years, finally..." He kept on muttering things like this until I recovered from the shock of a complete stranger hugging me and trying to get out of his grasp. It's not like he wasn't cute or anything, in fact he was smoking hot. He was very tall and had jet black hair a bit wavy to his broad shoulders and from what I saw in that short moment he had icy blue eyes. But I didn't know him and I think he thought I was someone else. I started struggling more. "For God's sake, let me go. Who're you? Why are you hugging me? Where the hell am I?!" He let me loose and stared at me in shock.
Then his look turned into one of pity and he hugged me again. "She does not even remember me. The Gods help her, she must remember."
"Artision, let that poor girl go, now!"
Another voice spoke from where I knew the door was. The guy, Artision apparently (weird name), only hugged me tighter until I had the feeling I was going to choke. He answered in a strained whisper: "I will not lose her again. My Animya, I..." I had enough. I had been struggling to no avail so I had to use my childish tricks from elementary school. In other words I stomped on his foot. Hard. He winced and let me loose. I immediately backed away from him and now I could also see much more people in the room. My questions burst out of my mouth in a incoherent and panicky kind of way.
"What the fuck is going on? Really! I wanna know where I am, who you are and how the fuck I got here. And why the fuck is everyone wearing these medieval clothes? Where are the jeans and t-shirts... Why am I even thinking of this?
Oh, and who is this Animya anyway? Why are you confusing her with me, cause I'm obviously NOT!"
My rant had left me panting. But no one of them answered any of my questions. They just stared at me in something I could only call horror until one woman who looked to be pretty uptight opened her mouth and spoke in an equally uptight voice. "Your Grace, this uncultured girl who wears men's clothes could not possibly the reincarnation of your beautiful and stunning late daughter. The princess would have never used such horrendous words and… are those men clothes?! This must be some mistake!"
Such a nice lady! Then an old man with white hair that lay thickly on his head and a funny little beard spoke up and I immediately recognised his voice as the one that had told of that guy, Artision.
"No. She is the right person. But it is not that because Animya was a princess and acted as such that this girl grew up the same way." He shot an annoyed look towards that woman who cringed away from the piercing grey eyes the man possessed. Suddenly a very regal looking woman came closer until she stood before me. I was stunned because this woman could pass for my mother. She had the same hair color and the same shape of face. Only her eyes were very different, they were a golden brown shade unlike mine which were some kind of grey blue. Those eyes looked at me with some kind of emotion I couldn't quite place. "What is your name, sweetie?" She asked with a soothing and soft voice. Yet it was so... Noble.
“Her name is Animya!” Artision chimed in.
Does that guy ever shut up?
I answered a lot calmer after throwing an annoyed look at tha black haired guy. "Lisa Slythe, miss." She smiled, but it was a bit of a sad smile. "That is a wonderful name. Now, I understand that you have many questions and if everyone would be so kind as to leave than master Ignyé could explain everything." Immediately the group of people rushed out of the room (Artision with lots of resistance) after hearing those words and with a last sad smile the regal woman, I suspected she was a queen or something, left also. Only the old white haired man who must’ve been Sapyn still stood in front of me.

He regarded me with a calculating expression on his face. To be honest, it really didn’t do wonders for my discomfort. Then, when no one spoke up, I opened my mouth yet again to ask the to me most important question: “Where am I?”

Still owning everything here :)
