Prologue

A young teenager was walking home at night, she was swaying like she was drunk. She looked at her watch and swore under her breath when she saw what time it was. Not in the right mindset she took a shortcut home through a particularly dark alleyway. Halfway through the alleyway she heard a strange sound, turning she saw nothing. But when she turned back she came face to face with a monster.

It seemed to be made of dense shadows, a red light pulsed in it's chest, it was twice the size of the girl, it had a long muscled body, it's legs were like an animals, it arms were spindly and long enough to touch the ground from it's full height, it's crooked fingers had long, black, sharp talons, in the palms of it's large hands were sunken-in red eyes, it had a human shaped head, from it's large and bloodied mouth protruded an uncountable number of Parana-like teeth all dripping blood, the top of it's face was covered with a blood red mask, from under the mask protruded gray, tangled hair. To sum up, your nightmares for the next few months, if you survived that is.

The teenager screamed and tried to run the other way, only for another of those creatures to block her path. She was surrounded.

Suddenly the teenager smirked and gave a mocking laugh. The creatures were understandably confused at this. Why was someone they were about to eat be laughing?

"You Drogos aren't very smart, are you?" the teenager asked, standing almost casually. "So easy to lure into a trap."

Shadows surged forth and wrapped themselves around the girl, forming new clothes around her. The full moon came out from behind the clouds to reveal what the teenager now looked like.

Her hair was black and she has silver eyes, she wore black heavy-looking boots with white laces, black jeans, a white top, a leather trench coat that went down to the knee and had buckles at the cuffs; it had a hood attached that was currently up and white symbols running up the sleeves, she had a simple black crow mask on her face and around her neck was a medallion. The medallion was made of silver, the design on it was a gate surrounded be some symbols.

"Shade!" the creatures called Drogos hissed.

The girl smiled. "Dam straight."

The Drogos charged at her but she was one step ahead of them, she jumped at an impossible high to avoid them, the Drogos crashed into each other as a result.

The girls smiled. "Perhaps I should introduce myself. You can call me Morana, not that it'll concern you very much."

The Drogos snarled viciously in return.

Morana reached into the confines of her jacket and withdrew her weapon, it was a scythe and was nearly as tall as her; it's handle was made of blacked wood and had a sharp silver blade. "Come get some!" she shouted.

The Drogos charged forward and so did Morana, with a swing of her scythe she began her attack. Drogo #1 slashed at her with it’s claws but was blocked by her scythe, while she was doing that Drogo #2 tried to slash at her from behind; Morana had seen this coming however and ducked, meaning Drogo #1 got it’s face clawed at instead. Drogo #2 clawed at her and managed to catch her arm but Morana didn’t seem fazed. Her scythe caught the moonlight as it cut through the air with ease, showing the blade in all it’s deadly beauty. Morana dived trough the legs of Drogo#2, cutting it’s legs as she went and causing it to stumble. Drogo #1 tried to swiped at her but she ducked out of the way and cut it's fingers off.

It howled in pain, while it was distracted she sliced into it's chest to reveal a glowing red orb. The Drogo's shadowed body suddenly disappeared to leave just the glowing orb floating in the air. The orb tried to fly away.

"Oh no you don't." Morana said, she reached for the medallion around her neck.

Holding it aloft, the gate on it opened into a black space. A gravitational vortex came from the black space, sucking the red orb into it. As soon as it was in the gates closed once more.

"Now where did that other one go?" Morana said to herself.

Morana turned around just in time to see Drogo #2 throw it's former companion's finger at her like a spear. Not having time to react, the talon pierced her chest.

Morana's eyes widened slightly as she looked down at the finger piercing her crest. She then rolled her eyes, grabbing the finger with one hand she pulled it out of her chest with ease, not even wincing as she did so. The finger wasn't covered in any blood and none came from the hole in her chest. A wave of shadow went over her and the hole was gone, as if it had never been there.

"When will you Drogos ever learn?” Morana said, in the manner someone would talk to a child.

Suddenly Morana threw her scythe spinning through the air, it sliced right through the Drogo's chest. The red orb in it's chest was revealed and it's shadowed body disappeared. The gate on the medallion was once again opened and the red orb sucked in before it could get away.

"Two more souls waiting to be judged." Morana smiled to herself.

Her clothes suddenly turned into shadows and peeled away from her leaving her in the clothes she had been in before. It was so easy to lure Drogos in if you pretended to be a helpless victim. With that Morana set off into the night to lure more Drogos into her trap.
