The path that awaits

In a small town in New Hampshire, there was a family who was about to leave for the town summer day parade. It was a sunny day and was pretty hot outside.

“Zachary!” A lady shouted standing at the door of a house. “Are you ready?”

A boy with white hair came running from his room. He was full of energy.

“Yes, I’m ready Mom!” Zachary said.

The family went to the parade and enjoyed themselves. Later everyone at the parade gathered at a nearby park to continue the party.

Zachary noticed an odd man in a white hooded cloak standing off to the side holding a scythe. He seemed to be looking at a clock that was hanging on a wall at one of the pavilions.

“Who are you? I’ve never seen you around here before.” Zach said.

“Huh? You can see me?” The man replied.

“Yes.”

“Zachary! Who are you talking to?” His mother asked.

“I don’t know.”

“Alright then you silly boy.”

“Mom! I’m sixteen!”

“Yes, but your still my little baby.”

“I understand.” The man said. “Your mother loves you very much. Spend as much time with your family as you can, they won’t be around forever.”

The man walked off.

“Wait! What’s your name!?”

The man didn’t hear him and continued to walk forward. Zach shrugged it off and went back with his family.

A little more then Four hours passed. Zachary was hanging out with some of his friends. He could hear someone screaming off in the distance.

“What’s going on!?” One of the voices shouted.

Zachary and his friends ran over to the commotion.

“What happened?” Zachary asked.

“This man, he just… Spontaneously sliced in half!” The man said.

“That doesn’t make sense!”

Zachary noticed the man with the scythe standing over the man who was cut in half. He raised his scythe higher and swung it into the man who was freaking out before.

Everyone was paralyzed by fear. The man then moved speedily and sliced everyone else in half.

Zachary was scrambling to stay away from the man. Before he knew it, everyone was dead. He was running frantically and tripped over one of the dead bodies.

The man walked up closer to Zachary. The area in his hood was like a deep void of nothing. He stood there a moment without speaking.

“Who are you!?” Zachary demanded.

“Me… I am the light, yet I am the darkness. I am hope, but I am despair. I am the Beginning, and I am the End. I am Z. I have chosen you to be my successor. Consider yourself lucky little Jur, you get to live to see another day.”

His scythe dematerialized into a small ball of energy and floated toward Zachary. I placed itself inside of his chest and his body glowed a bit. He began to feel a bit woozy and tired.

“Sleep well my young Jur. It will be your job to destroy the Alphabet. We will cross paths again someday, and if you’re ready, You will kill me. It is your job to live up to your destiny. We’re counting on you Zachary.”

With that, Z sprouted wings like an angel and flew off.

2: It Starts With G
It Starts With G

In Los Angeles there was a young man named Zachary Djre. Zachary had White hair and bright blue eyes. He wore nothing but a black hoodie and jeans, and socks and shoes of course.

A long time ago, Zachary witnessed a terrible massacre. Every one of his close family and friends were killed. Every day he would wander around looking for this man that destroyed his friends and family. Today he would be able to find out how to get to him.

Zachary was strolling the streets of LA, looking for the man. people would look at Zachary funny because of what he always would do, but he never stayed in the same place for too long.

He searched the whole city and turned up nothing. This was like the 126th time his search didn’t work for him. He started to give up and sat at a bench in a park. The sun was going down and he was about ready to give up hope. He heard a voice from up above him. He looked up to see a man standing on a lamp post. The man jumped down and walked over to Zachary. He wore a green sweater vest and had some sort of metal contraption strapped to his back.

“You young man!” The man exclaimed.

“Me?” Zachary asked.

“Yes! You are the successor, yet you have done nothing!”

“You mean that thing about the stupid Z guy.”

“Ah… So you do know Z.”

“Who even are you?”

“I am the one who embraces to the light of both truth and justice. I am the keeper of all that is balanced. My name is G, and I am a member of the Alphabet.”

Zachary stared at G for a small moment and then spoke again.

“You're insane.” He said.

“I will have you know that I am nothing of the sort.” G said.

G bent down closer to Zachary.

“Listen up Jur. Z choose you. I understand that he didn’t give much details.”

“Yeah, get outta my face!”

G backed away.

“I, The wonderful and magnificent G, will fill you in.”

G sat down on the ground in indian position.

“Long ago, an order called the Alphabet was made around the same time the real Alphabet was made. There are twenty-six members of this order, all named by one of the letters of the alphabet. We almost never meet up with one another, but, once every one hundred years. The end will go out, to find the successor to the Alphabet. So far he has not been able to find the right successor, until the last search. Anyone who can see a member of the Alphabet, is destined to be the successor. As successor, it is your job to whip out all of the members of The Alphabet, and depending on your choices, you will become either a great hero known as ⍺ or a great villain known as 𝛀.”

“This Z guy, is he part of the alphabet, do I get to kill him!?”

“Yes, but you may only fight the end when you are ready, once you have killed all members of the alphabet.”

“Who is this end guy you keep talking about!?”

“The End is the one you’ve been calling Z, while that is his name. He’s been known as The End by everyone in the Alphabet.”

“So, what you're saying is, I need to find every member of the Alphabet and kill them?”

“That’s correct.”

“If you’re part of them, then why would you tell me this.”

“Because. It’s my job to test you, to see if you are actually Alphabet material.”

G grabbed the contraption off of his back. It extended to for something like a large hammer.

He ran at Zachary and brought the hammer down at him.

Zachary quickly evaded the attack.

“What’s that all about!?”

“I told you, I must test to see if you truly are worthy.”

“So, you’re going to try to kill me?”

“That’s right! And you're going to try to kill me!”

“But I’m unarmed!”

“Just delve inside yourself and you’ll figure it out.”

“That doesn’t make sense!”

Before he could finish, G lunged forward with his hammer ready.

Zachary got out of the way from the dangerous weapon.

“What are you!?” Zachary demanded.

“I’m not a human, and I’m not a Juric like you.”

“Then what are you!?”

“I’m nothing.”

“THAT DOESN’T MAKE ANY SENSE!”

“Does any of this?”

“NO! NO IT DOES NOT!”

“Then It doesn’t matter.”

G jumped forward at Zachary again.

He swung his hammer and Zachary evaded once again.

Zachary tried to figure out what he meant by delve inside yourself meant. It must be something stupid like the power is inside you.

“Come on Jur! Show me what you’ve got!”

Zachary was getting tired of G calling him Jur. While it was factual, it was a derogatory term used on Jurics. Zachary put his hand into a fist and and looked at G intensely.

“My name…” As he spoke, a golden light began to form in his hand, and extended into a rod like structure. It then formed into a Scythe that was similar to the scythe that Z had used. “MY NAME IS ZACH!”

The First Fight

CHAPTER TWO - THE FIRST FIGHT

Zachary and G stood apart from each other. They both had a look of determination on their face. Zachary didn’t know how the scythe got into his hands, but he didn’t care. Now he had something to protect himself with.

“Ha! Good job! Looks like you’ve figured out how to call upon The End’s scythe.” G said.

“So this is Z’s scythe?” Zachary replied.

“That’s right! Now, let’s just see if you have what it takes to use it!”

G lunges forward with his hammer once again.

Zachary blocks his attack with his Scythe.

Sparks fly from the two clashing weapons. The grinding of the two metals creats a blueish light that bounced off of Zachary and G’s faces. G didn’t even break a sweat.

Zachary used the angle they were at to his advantage. He swings his scythe around to knock G onto the ground.

Zachary brought the scythe down aiming for G’s head.

G manages to get out of the way in time and roll backwards to safety.

“That was a nice try Zach!” G said with gusto.

G jumps forward at Zachary again and hit him on the side with his hammer.

It sends Him flying into a wall.

He manages to get himself up but is in some pain.

“You’re stronger than you look Zach. That blow would have flattened you if you were a normal person. And the fact that you're a Juric makes it even more outstanding. Everyone knows that Jurics aren’t that big on being offensive.”

“Well, It helps if you have a scythe.” He said shakily.

“That it does!”

G lunges forward once again, this time aiming for Zachary’s head.

Zachary blocks the hit with his scythe. He was being backed into a corner.

Zachary redirects G to send him flying away from himself.

He uses this opportunity to take advantage of his Juric Powers.

He focuses his energy into the scythe and it begins to glow a blueish color just as Juric energy tends to do in objects.

This allowes his attacks to be much stronger.

“I see you are playing your Juric Powers to your advantage!” G said. “You might just win this battle!”

“I intend to!”

G gave a chuckle and ran after him once more.

Zachary steadied himself as he waited for G to come close to him.

When G came within striking distance, Zachary takes his scythe and runs it into G’s shoulder.

He quickly broght it back out and thrusted it into his chest.

G fell to the ground with a smile on his face.

Blood was pouring out of his mouth.

“Well done Zach.” He said. “You’ve proved yourself… But take this bit of advice. You do not want to become 𝛀, It will lead you down the path of death and destruction. If you make this all about revenge, you will become 𝛀. But if you go down the right path, you will become ⍺, that is the one you must become. You only have two choices, so I urge you to choose the the latter. There are some that will push you to become the other one, but those aren’t good people. Just remember, 𝛀 is the end, and ⍺ is the beginning. Now… It is time for me to die.”

G’s body started to disappear.

Zachary’s scythe turned into a little ball of energy and placed itself inside of his body.

“I now know what I must do, I have to track down the members of the Alphabet, and kill them all.”

Zach turned around and started walking to the nearest hospital. His whole body was in pain.

After that, it would be time to track down the next member of the Alphabet.

4: Lyvv
Lyvv

Zachary left the hospital with what the doctors dismissed as minor injuries. This surprised him knowing what had just happened to him.

Now all he had to do was find the remaining twenty five members of the Alphabet. Twenty Four if you exclude Z.

He was about to leave town something grabbed onto his hand.

“HI!” The small girl said. “I saw you earlier when you were fighting that guy with the hammer…” She was talking really fast. Zachary had a hard time making out what she was saying. “… And he was all like ‘HAMMER!’ And you were all like ‘I’m Zach!’ and he smacked you in the face with the Hammer!”

“WAIT WAIT WAIT!” Zachary interrupted. “How do you know about this? How were you able to see him.”

Without her talking so much, Zach could actually look at her. She had short brown hair. She wore a school uniform and her eyes were two different colors. The left one was green, and the right one was blue. She had a very kind look on her face.

“Oh, I could see him with my eyes.”

Zachary face palmed. “BUT HOW!? He said that I was the only one who could see them.”

“Oh I see, you don’t know a renoculous when you see one? Is that it?”

“What are you talking about?”

“I’m a renoculous, We have awesome eye powers and some of us can see things that not a lot of other people can see. The two different color eyes is how you can tell if someone is a Renoculous or not. That and the name.”

“Slow dow-”

“My name’s Lyvv! L, Y, V, V! Sounds just like Liv.”

“God? Is this my punishment for killing G?”

“I can already tell that we’re gonna be bestest friends.”

“No, because I’m leaving.”

Zachary started to head out of the city, he looked back at Lyvv.

“See ya.” He said.

“BYE BYE!” Lyvv said back to him.

Zach felt like he dodged a bullet. Any longer than an hour with her, he felt like he’d probably go insane.

He continued walking and came upon a rest stop. He figured he could use a rest after all of his walking.

He walked into the place and plopped down on a couch in the corner. He looked around to see two other people in the room. One of them was behind a table trying to fix a TV. The other one was just standing around. He was dressed up in some sort of cowboy uniform and had a nice looking beard.

The guy at the TV began to speak.

“I’ll get with you in a sec bud. Right now I’m working.”

“Alright.” Zachary turn his attention back to the cowboy looking guy. “Why are you dressed like a cowboy in the middle of California?”

“What do you mean?” The man at the TV asked. “I’m not dressed like a cowboy.”

“Not you, the other guy.”

“The other guy?” He got up and looked around. “You and me are the only ones in her buddy.”

“What?”

“Don’t worry about him partner.” The cowboy man said. “He can’t see me.”

“Huh… What’s your name.”

“Gregory.” The man at the TV said. “Not that it matters though.”

“My name is W partner.” The cowboy man said.

“You! You’re part of the Alphabet!”

“What are you talking about?” Gregory asked.

“Not you! There’s another man in here that you can’t see!”

“That’s crazy.”

“Hey… Yer name’s Zach right? Hows about we take this outside.”

“Fine by me!”

at this point Gregory was ignoring Zachary.

W was walking out to a field at the back of the rest stop.

Zachary was feeling tense walking next to W. He knew he had to kill him in order to face Z, but this wouldn’t be easy. He just got out of the hospital.

W seemed to be calm even though he knew that Zachary was out for his blood.

“So Zach.” W said. “S tells me that you’ve been chosen as the successor.”

“S?”

“You’ll meet ‘er eventually.”

W pulled out a pack of cigarettes

“Ya don’t mind if I smoke do ya?”

“Go ahead.”

W pulled out one of the cigarettes and lit it. He put it in his mouth and continued talking.

“I don’t think it’d be wise fer us to start squabbling now, you should take time ta rest.”

“ZACH!” A girly voice sounded from behind them.

Zachary and W looked back to see Lyvv running after them.

She caught up the them and smacked W in the face.

“What was that fer!?” W exclaimed.

“You were going to hurt Zach!” Lyvv shouted.

She was trying to get a W but Zachary was holding her back.

“Not till tomorrow.”

“What on earth are you doing here!?” Zachary asked.

“I wanted to make sure you’re okay! So I followed you!”

“Don’t you have parents, they must be worried about you.”

“No.”

“What? You… Don’t have parents? Then how do you go to school?”

“My friend Pytt helps me with that. He let me go to school with him.”

“Okay, I guess that’s a good thing. But that still doesn’t excuse you for following me to the middle of nowhere.”

“I wanted to make sure you’re alright! As a friend, I wouldn’t be able to let you go out and die!”

“I’m not going to die! Go home!”

“Nope, no way, no how, no buts, no cigar! I’m here to stay!”

“Please… God… What did I do to deserve this!?”

“Absolutely nothing! You got a free friend, you should be happy!”

“This girl is certainly full of energy.” W said. “Ha, I guess yer full of energy too.” He said to Zachary.

“You’re not helping.”

“What? I think havin’ er with you’d be good for yer health.”

“Yeah, you say that now…”

“I think you’ll come ta like er.”

The sun was almost completely down. The three of them walked back to the rest stop to wait until tomorrow. Zachary was incredibly annoyed with the reappearance of Lyvv. Zachary had to be ready for tomorrow anyways, so the best he could do is to just try and ignore her.
