Chapter One

Summer was a pretty girl. Her long blonde hair whipped around her as she rode her purple bike down the street. The school bell rang. It was after school and her head was full of the math problems and Grammar  papers.

As she rode her bike down the street to her and her Mother’s house, she sighed. There were three new girls in school. They were very different from the other kids in the school. They dressed in black and had strange dark purple crystal necklaces around their necks. They had matching green eyes and occurring from what she heard, they were sisters.

One girl in particular, named Christine, had long brown hair, was a little taller than most girls. She was the oldest out of the three and also wore a long black dress with a dark purple crystal. The girl smiled at everyone both not in a good way. She tripped over one boy who had glasses on, and she taunted another girl who had injured her ankle.

The second girl, named Abigail, was a little shorter than her older sister had just like her, was mean. She had red hair and she never smiled. She had the same green eyes and like her sister, wore a black dress but hers had lace in the sleeves. Like her sister she had a dark purple crystal around her neck.

The third girl, like Summer, had blonde hair wore a long black dress but she carried around her a dark red teddy bear. She had green eyes, and her dark red teddy bear had a dark purple crystal that was tied to the neck of the teddy bear.

Summer smiled as she waved at her best friend, Danielle, who was a funny and sweet girl that Summer became friends with in kindergarten when Summer started going to school. Danielle and her family lived a block away from where Summer lived with her mother, Gina.

Summer’s mother worked at a restaurant as a waitress. When Summer was in school, her mother would work and sometimes at night to make extra money and Summer would stay with her grandmother, Grace.

Danielle was waiting for Summer to come over. She told her in school that she would go to her friend’s house after school. She waved at her best friend as Summer rode her bike to her house.

“Hey Danielle, I need to borrow your cell phone, I have to call my Mom,” she said.

“Okay,” as her and Danielle went inside Danielle’s house to use the phone.

After a while of helping each other with each other’s homework, they decided to go for a walk in the nearby.

“Hey, wanna go into the woods over there?” Danielle said. She wanted to go into the woods for a good reason. She heard there was a secret hidden treasure there.

“I don’t know Summer, my mom would not want me to go down there,” Summer answered.

“Come on, there is a secret treasure there in a what do they call it, a ‘clearing’ by a pond,” she said.

“Really?” Summer asked.  One of the reasons why Summer liked Danielle so much was because she was always fun, sweet, and also looking around for adventures. When she heard about the stories of a magic crystal, she wanted to be the first to find the crystal. It was supposed to be shaped like a butterfly crystal and it can make pretty rainbows.

Summer thought about it for a minute. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to go into the woods. She heard there were snakes in the woods, not to mention she heard from the other adults in the neighborhood where her and her mom lived, that the woods were haunted.

But then again, she didn’t want to look scared in front of her friend either. Besides, what is the worst that can happen?

“Okay, but we can’t let anyone know, if my mom finds out…” Summer began to say.

“Don’t worry, she won’t” Danielle said as she took Summer’s arm and walked with her.

Both girls decided to go into the woods, to find the crystal with the magical powers.

Chapter Two

~~Chapter Two:

Danielle and Summer walked through the path of the woods. They were mindful of the mud and where they stepped. They both were in their school outfits and no one have been in the woods for a while.
“I hope we don’t get lost,” Summer said as she followed her best friend Danielle. She was scared and wanted to leave, but she wanted to see the crystal too.
“We won’t. I remember the boys talking about the crystal. It is in a hollow of a tree. The tree have flowers and pink leaves,” Danielle went on,”plus, it is the only tree in the woods that have the pink leaves.”
“Pink leaves?” Summer thought. A tree with pink leaves and also a magical powers, this was exciting. But she didn’t want her mother to worry or be mad at her either. Usually when Summer decided to go somewhere she always had to ask her mother. She knew that her mother loved her and she knew her mother had always looked out for her, but she didn’t like it that she sometimes said no and she sometimes made Summer do things like eat vegetables, make her bed, and help her clean the house.

Also she didn’t like some of the things that people said about her mother. There have been some mean people who have said that her mother was strange, weird and accused her of being a witch. But Summer have been around her mother and her mother was so sweet to her and was nice to everyone she knew. She was even sweet to her own mother, where she would make an extra plate for her mother and sent it to her mother’s house and visited her grandmother very often.

Grandma Grace was always so sad. She missed Grandpa a lot and her mother was also sad. He passed away a long time ago things haven’t been the same since then.

“Yes, pink leaves, can you believe it?” Danielle exclaimed. Summer looked around the girls and noticed that the woods were darker. There was barely any sunlight breaking through the leaves and branches of the trees. She was getting more nerves.
“Danielle, do you remember the way back?” she asked. Danielle sighed and looked back.
“Are you scared Summer?” she asked.
“No!” Summer snapped back. She wanted to see the crystal. She wanted to take it and take it home and show her mother. She wanted to wear it around her neck. But what about Danielle, she may want it too? What are the girls gonna do when they find the crystal. They did not think this through.

Little did the girls knew that Abigail, one of the girls had followed Summer and Danielle.  She watched them go into the woods. All three of the girls know that Summer is Katrina’s daughter, the Earth Princess.
The Earth Princess had magical powers that with the help of a certain crystal, can unlock her powers and save the world, possibly the universe. If Katrina ever get her crystal back, she can become powerful again.  She may even be able to create a new crystal for her daughter so her daughter can carry on the tradition of Earth Princesses, an ancient line of girls whose sole purpose is to save the world from the Five Fallen Stars. The Fallen Stars’ sole purpose is to drain the life of the Earth and sacrifice the life energy of the planet to the Great Darkness.

Summer was right behind Danielle as they searched for the tree with the pink leaves. Summer felt like she and Danielle were searching for hours. It was sunset. The sky was turning dark.
“Danielle, I am having second thoughts, let’s get out of here,” she complained. She was afraid of what the darkness held.
“Aww. Are you a little baby?” Danielle teased as she stuck her tongue out.
“I am not a baby!” Summer snapped back. She looked up and noticed a pink leaf that was floating in the air from the breeze.
“Look! A pretty leaf!” she exclaimed. Danielle looked up and reached up as she was trying to catch it. Then, more pink leaves appeared. Both girls looked forward and saw a tree with a huge trunk with all the leaves were pink. In the trunk, there was a huge hollow. There was a glowing light in the hollow of the tree.

“We found it!” both girls exclaimed.
