Prologue

~~She wakes up from her drug induced daze to find herself laying on a cold, steel metal slab with a huge laser contraption staring her directly in her face. She struggles against the metal restraints however, the more she struggles the deeper the restraints dug into her wrist causing minor cuts and bruises. Looking around the pure white room, she realizes where she is; this is the room her best friend use to always tell her about. Her silver eyes land directly on the owner of the orphanage, then she cranes her neck more to see the teacher that she help with math problems and new solutions, she trusted the teacher; Mrs. Shawna. Her eyes are wrapped in tears and puffy along with her face. Lastly, the female Doctor that is standing by a black and white high tech computer; typing away.

Not knowing what is going on, Angelle closes her eyes hoping that this is some kind of horrid nightmare and that she would wake up in her room with her sister laying in the bed next to the wall.

        "Ready?" The female Doctor asks.

Upon hearing the doctor's voce, Angelle opens her eyes and shes looks around again; now realizing that this is no nightmare. But a horrible reality. She closes her eyes again, now hoping to block out the horror of all that is going on right now.

The owner and Mrs. Shawna must have nodded their answer because Angelle didn't hear them answer. She begins to slowly hyperventilate when she hears a light beeping sound, then the machine starting up. Angelle pops her eyes open once more to see the laser moving about. Beads of sweat roll down her forehead as another beep sounds making the laser stop in the middle of her forehead. Angelle cranes her neck to look at Mrs. Shawna for help, but she has broken down in tears. While the owner has a stone cold look on her face as if this is something personal for her. They put their goggles on and the doctor flips the switch that causes the room to black out. There is one more beep causing a huge green neon light to shoot her in the middle of her forehead, the green light lit up the entire room. The pain that follows is excruciating, she bites her lip against the pain and the tears, but the tears flow down her cheeks. Her eyes flutter close making more tears stream down her face and in an effort to fight off the pain that the laser is causing.

She could feel the laser penetrating her mind and invading her personal thoughts and memories. Her voice breaks as she calls out through her tears, "Mama? Daddy?"

The memory is of her parents waving to her as Angelle age 6 years old at the time, runs off for her first day of The Elite Preschool. Behind Angelle takes her twin, a sad looking Gianna whom is dragging her feet and kicking rocks. The laser turns black, erasing the memory along with other memories as well, which causes more pain than when it penetrated her mind. Angelle bites back a scream and continues to be strong against the awful pain.

Without warning, a light the color of a pretty sunrise shot out from Angelle's Persian gold medallion. The medallion's light forces the black light back into the machine's laser, blowing the million dollar contraption up from the inside out. Abruptly, the whole machine wires down and smoke slithers out of the laser,, the smell of burning wires causes Angelle to open her eyes. She turns her head towards two females trying to figure out what had just happened to the expensive machine.

Not fully knowing where she is or what is going on, an unknown female with tear stained eyes ambles over to her and begins to take the restraints off. Once the restraints are off, the female helps Angelle sit upright and begins to tell Angelle certain things that the owner had her rehearsed with her numerous of times when this process is completed...IF the process is completed. Angelle nods at the lies the female is telling her.

~~Euphoria- Feeling of happiness, confidence, or well-being.

Angelle sits on the beach of the Tropical Island that she calls home, Euphoria Island. Euphoria is an island that is roaming with Mysticals of all kinds, also inhabits as well. Angelle is the only Imari (human) on the island. Though the princess of a vampire royal family, Angelle never fully could grasps the concept of how she came out Imari with no powers or trace of vampire in her except her blood. But, her brother Donatello 17 years old and Gianna 14 years old are these fierce and powerful vampires along with their parents. Shaking her head as to not let it get to her, Angelle looks around the semi-empty beach, most Mysticals are at work and the stay-at-home Mysticals has taken their children to the beach or the farmer's market to pick up some groceries.

Angelle wiggles her toes in the cool sand as the sun is setting on the horizon, Angelle always thought the sunrise and sunset is the most beautiful thing in the world. Checking her watch, she stands up and brushes her shorts off and tucks her auburn colored hair behind her ear and makes her way home.

Her family Queen Cayenne and King Vicsin rules the Southern part of Euphoria Island. Angelle walks into the semi-mansion victorian and is greeted by the smooth melody of the grand piano that her brother; Donatello sits at all the time trying to perfect his "musical gensis". Their mother, Queen Cayenne sits in her favorite blue leather recliner with Gianna by her side. Angelle could remember Gianna would always sit at their mother's feet and watch her sew for hours at a time; closely. She figures that Gianna finally got their mom to show her how to sew; Gianna had nagged their mom for weeks to show her.

Angelle ambles to her room to only be stopped half way by the female housemaid name Tricia Owens. Tricia is a nyphm that has worked for the Lockheart family for a few years now. Angelle looks at Tricia trying to figure out what she wanted. With a nervous stutter Tricia answers, "Dinner w-will be-be ready soon."

Angelle smiles and places a friendly hand on Tricia's shoulder, "Thank you."

The kind gesture makes Tricia smile and gives Angelle's ahnd a gentle squeeze. She then makes her way downstairs to tell teh rest of the family about dinner beind almost ready. Angelle continues upstairs to her room which is at the very topo of the semi-mansion. She love being up in her room because she could see the entire island and what almost everyone is doing. The melody of the piano still playing, she sits at her padded window sill and looks out the island.

The island is extremely huge and is protected by 15 magical wards called Infinities; that are in the ocean's depths. No one has to worry about any Imari trying to envade Euphoria because of the Infinities. Angelle thought it is cool how the Infinities protects everyone when she learned about them in school; her first year attending MorningStar Headstart for the intelligently gifted. If any Imari were to ever set eyes on Euphoria the Infinities woudl erase their memory of ever coming across the beautiful island. Also, the island isn't on any map or ship's radar. Angelle smiles knowing that her parents went through great lengths ot protect their family and other families.

A knock on her blue thick wood door interrupts her thoughts, "Come in, dad."

Her father; a sleander man with ocean blue eyes and a chocolate complexion enters and stands by his daughter; closing the door with his mind. He too stares out the window. Angelle figures that now would be a good time to tell her father more about the strange and unusual dreams that she has been having for the past 4 months now. "Quite peaceful, isn't it?"

Angelle smiles still looking out the window as the sun slowly sets and some of the Mysticals try to get last minute things done. She feels his eyes on her this causes Angelle to look up at him, "Father?" Her voice holds some concern.

By this time, he is folding his arms across his broad chest as he is prepared to listen to his youngest daughter. "Yes, Angie?"

She scrunches up her face at the nickname he has given her since she was 3 years old. For some reason or another she always hated that name but never told her father. But, she knew with his powers of telepathy. She proceeds with her question, "What would happen if the Imaris found out about Euphoria?"

A very grim expression covers his face, "A war would happen; shattering many lives here and disturbing the peaceful tranquil that is Euphoria. Why? What worries you, Angelle? Are you still having those awful nightmares?"

Angelle goes back to staring out the window, staring at nothing inparticular. "Yes, they are getting more and more clear. It's like I am actually there. Then they end with me getting shot. Or I am watching this war." Tears swell up in her eyes as sweat rolls down her forehead.

Her father places a reassuring hand on Angelle's shoulder, then begins to coo at Angelle; something he has always done as a little baby to calm her down, til this day it still works.  and offers a very warm smile. Angelle always love it when her father smiles because it always brighten up her day, even on her most foggiest of days. "Some will stay to help fight for the cause while others will flee understandingly. As for your dreams, I am sure that you just have a lot on your mind with school finals and that college study thing."

Angelle laughs at her fahter's ability to try and remember all that she tells him. She corrects him, "The college state test, father."

"Meh," He shrugs his shoulders playfully. "Now, get washed up for dinner." He leaves the room and she struts into her bathroom that is built in her bedroom. Except for her parent's room, her room is the only room that has a bathroom in it. she stares into her streel red painted framed mirror at her bright silver eyes, light mocha complexion, and her auburn colored, curly chest length hair. She runs the water, washes her face, and hands. Angelle makes her way downstairs to the dining room where her family is waiting for her.

Angelle's place at the table is always by her father, however there are times when Gianna would take her seat for no reason at all or just out of spite. Not this time, Gianna's usual place is always by their mother and Donatello would sit by Angelle. Tricia and a few other housemaids brings out the food and goes back to the kitchen.

Cayenne and Viscin do not believe in having slaves or help of any kind but, when Tricia and the others were escaping some kind of horrid experiment down in Jongil, Cayenne and Viscin rescued them, it was when the island was in its prime, and Tricia and the others wanted to re-pay them. At first, Cayenne and Viscin would not allow it but with lots of pleads and some kind of contract stateing that they can leave whenever they want. They all agreed to the terms and Viscin even built them their own shelter in which over the years, the Nymphs and Sprites they saved added more to it and made it into a servicing shop with the same contract that the Lockhearts gave them years ago.

Cayenne Lockheart rules with an iron fist having no nonsense for anything that is bad behavior. If found guilty then the Mysticals either sit in jail for a few months or service; depending on what the situation is and it's severity of the situation. However, Vicsin Lockheart is the opposite. He feels like everyone deserves a second chance and sometimes a third; no matter what the situation is. Cayenne and Viscin match each other perefectly at all times. They are soulloves. Soulloves are like soulmates but deeper than that.

~~Angelle nibbles on her bottom lip as she cuts into her steak; medium rare. Everyone sat and ate in silence, until Gianna speaks up, "Angelle got called into the office today."

That stops everyone from eating including Donatello, they stare at Angelle. Angelle never understood why Gianna loved to try and get her in trouble. Keyword: TRY meaning never suceeding in doing so. But, their parents knew better, they knew that Angelle never got in trouble at school except for one time. And that wasn't even her fault. Angelle corrected a teacher's grammar and the teacher sent Angelle to the office.

Angelle sighs, putting her knife and fork down on the napkin on the table. She begins to explain why she was called to the office, "I got called because the Principal Mr. Kanzaki wanted to give me my test scores for that math college test thing I did last week in the library, along with a few other carefully selected students."

Gianna sighs, her jealousy steams from Angelle being completely Imari and smart also having a lot of friends. Gianna knew that she would never get the chance to see what it would be like to be Imari. Instead of asking, Gianna bullies and makes up falso problems in hopes to get Angelle kicked out or worse...exiled. Gianna also has no friends at school and does nothing without her mother. She has her mom's eyes and her dad's skin color.

17 year old; Donatello goes his own way, he realized his musical talent when he was 7 years old and did some kind of drum move on his desk with his pencils and was sent to the music room. Since then, Donatello has been trying to perfect every instrument known to man. His greatest challenge instrument is the grand Xico Piano that set in the livingroom. The reason is because it has more keys than a normal piano and the foot pedals on the piano was crafted weirdly but Donatello loved it. He has his dad's eyes and his mother's skin complexion.

"Oh, you got the results for that back?" Their father smiles as he chews his steak.

Angelle nods and continus to cut her steak up, then begins eating. She pulls a sheet of folded paper out of her dress pocket and hands it to her mother. Her mother takes it, looking at her youngest daughter, unfolding the paper. She looks at it and her golden eyes widen in shock. "She aced that test!" She passes the paper down to her husband. He looks over it and cheers. Gianna slunk down in her chair and starts to push her food around on her plate. Angelle smiles.

Angelle is different from her silings and parents. She doesn't have any powers of any kind, of course that has been explained somewhat to her. She also doesn't look like either her mother or father. But, she strongly resembles the family's ancestor that started the Laroux and Lockheart family; Arrianna Lovelace-Laroux. Even though, Angelle has no powers, she tries really hard to make up for it by being smart and energitic.

Everyone goes around the table and tells all about their day. Donatello tells how he got a 'B' ins ome History class in the highschool that he is in. Gianna only speaks of hwo she got in trouble for skipping class. She tells on herself a lot because she knows that their parents would find out eventually that she wasn't in school and would be grounded for 5 months.

In her room, Angelle gets in her bed hoping for a decents night sleep, she slinks down in her bed, sighing lovingly. Sleep takes her quickly.

(Dream: Angelle is at the top of Sesagar Hill, a very high hill near the beach. There are dark clouds starting to glide in and pour down rain; heavily. She is watching the war happen; unlike in the other dream where she is the Mystical that betrayed them. "It's the war." She whispers as she watches closely. the once beautiful beach that her and her friends love is now covered in blood and body parts of both Imari and Mystical. Angella didn't really know why the war was going on or how it even got started. She watched as it raged onand more body parts are slashed and gutted on the beach. Imaris shooting Mysticals while Mysticals defend their home and rip apart Imaris, some eat them while others suck them dry or their life forces and blood.---- The dream does a drastic scene change now. the sea Mysticalor what looks to be a sea Mystical drops the Infinities in the hands of an male Imari; smiling. The human smiles and eyes the wards; examining them to make sure they are the real thing and not some trick. "So, can I be human now? Like you promised me?" Angelle squints at her reflection in the eyes of the Imari. She knew who the sea Mystical is, but didn't know it's name. But, she had seen the Mystical around town always moping and pouting about what ever. And would tell anyone that would listen, how bad its life is. The Imari laughs uproarously, "Stupid, foolish sea creature. There is no way to turn you into a human without killing you." He pocktes the wards as he confesses his lie and pulls out a hand gun. "You are so foolish and desperate, it's so pathetic." A shot rang.)

The shot causes Angelle to snatch up and out of her sleep, drenched in sweat from fear. With the sheets wrapped around her legs and waist, she wipes the sweat from her face and looks at the clock that reads; 7:09am. She sighs knowing that she is suppose to be meeting her friends at the beach for the day to discuss their projet for tomorrow at 7:30am. She gets up and goes into her bathroom, staring at herself in the mirror. Shaking her head, she washes her face and does all the bathroom duties. Coming out, she goes into her closet and pulls out a red and black skate shirt, blue jeans, and high top red sneakers that look worn due to overuse. She does have new clothes that she got for her birthday, dresses and sandals but refuses to wear some of them due to, too much color.

Sprinting downstairs, seh sees her father reading the paper. He and her father were always the earlier riser in the family, while the others slept in. When she was younger, her father would wake her up to pancakes and stories about Arrianna Lovelace.

"Going to see your friends today?" Her father asks not looking up from the paper.

Angelle smirks and walks behind the chair of which her father is sitting. "Yeah." She finds out that he really wasn't reading the paper but a book. Angelle pats her father's head, making him jump and close the book. He smiles. Angelle smiles and shakes her head, she didn't know why he was always trying to hide that he reads the same book. "It's alright, dad."

He sighs and goes back to reading. Angelle knew that her father got up to read a book, because once Donatello started on the piano it was going to be hard to get him to stop or even take a quick break. But, she knew her father had a huge library fll of books he collected over the centuries. She kisses her father's head and trouts off outside.

~~Scott hands her the blue drink with a red and blue strapped bendy straw, Tashlynn takes the drink and smiles as Scott leans in and rubs his nose against her's. Tashlynn giggles, Scott stands up and ambles to cater to other beach goers. Angelle stares at Tashlynn wide eyes, "Tash, he is too old for you and you know how your brother is with you and dating."

Tashlynn scoffs sipping her drink, "My brother is not my father. Plus, you have Nik, Angelle. I feel like a third wheel sometimes when it comes to the two of you."

Angelle knew that Tashlynn's brother is only trying to protect her. Angelle then turns and looks at Nikolai whose face is as red as Angelle's favorite red apples with blush; after she had just caught onto what Tashlynn had just said. "Didn't know we made you feel that way." She turns to Tashlynn, "I mean...we have a crush on each other, but I don't think it's anything serious. At least, not yet."

Tashlynn turns to Angelle; finishing up her drink, "That's not what I am getting from Nik." Angelle's eyebrows knit together, not understanding. Tashlynn smirks as Nik gives her the evil eye while she set her drink in the sand next to her.

"Stay out of my feelings and my mind, Tashlynn." Nikolai warns her.

Tashlynn scoffs, "You shouldn't have you mind so open all the time."

With that Nikolai starts chasing Tashlynn, she jumps up, and takes off running, kicking up sand towards the ocean. She dives in and he dives right after her. "HEY GUYS WAIT UP!!" Angelle yells taking off towards the ocean as well. Nikolai throws Angelle as the ocean waves crash on them. Tashlynn tackles Nikolai, knocking him and Angelle over.

Gianna and Donatello walk quickly to Angelle but stops at the shoreline. "ANGELLE!!" Donatello calls out. Angelle looks towards the shoreline to see her two siblings. Angelle looks back at Nikolai and Tashlynn, "Guys." They swim to shore together.

Donatello laughs at his little, soaking wet sister, "You went swimming in your clothes?"

Angelle looks down at her clothes, "No bathing suit also it was a last minute thing." Angelle says to Donatello while Gianna sneers at Tashlynn and Nikolai. Tashlynn cuts her eyes at Gianna and Nikolai shrugs his shoulders. "What's going on?" Angelle then asks noting the worryment and concern on her siblings faces.

"Mom and dad says it's dinner time." He sauys while Gianna snatches Angelle along, not giving her a chance to say bye to Tashlynn or Nikolai.

~~Before Walking through the Farmer's market with her friends, Angelle looks back at her house. Then walks through the farmer's market with her friends; creatures bow, nod, and/or shakes hands with Angelle out of respect or pure friendly-ness. "Princess Angelle?" An elderly sprite lady calls.

Angelle smiles and walks towards the lady's stand that is full of fresh, juicy fruit and vegetables. "Hello, Ms. Yetta."

Ms. Yetta smiles and is delighted for Angelle to be a regular at her stand, "I got a new shipment of nectarines today." She picks up a yello, reddish round fruit and hands it to Angelle with shaky hands. Angelle takes the fruit and bites into it, the juices spill down her chin and Angelle moans in satisfaction in return brought a smole to the elderly lady's face. "Wow, that is amazing, Ms. Yetta." Angelle pass the fruit to Tashlynn who declines and passes it to Nikolai; who gladly started eating it. "Thank you, deary."

---The Lockheart family is a family of a long line of very ancient vampires. They started out as the poor low-lives, then started ranking up with killings and ranks. Soon, enough they became the most dangerous, powerful, ancient, and feared vampires on Earth. Deeming themselves the second notorious and well-respected hybrid-vampire clans. Decades later, they became the first clan to have other than vampires in their clan.---

Arriving at the Hertiage beach, she hears the peaceful sound of the ocean waves crashing on the shoreline and the smell of the ocean air. Angelle removes her sandals and wiggles her toes in the warm sand of the beach. They find their usual spot in the sand under a huge oak tree which the Nymph and midwife to Cayenne planted in Angelle's honor for being born. Angelle knows that her mom having her was rather difficult because both her and her mom's heart rate kept dropping and flatlining. But, they both managed to pull through, til this day no one knows why it was so difficult or what the problem was, but Angelle had a theory. And it was because she is mortal.

"Have you finished that paper about your family history for Ms. Ferlin?" 14 year old Tashlynn asks as she flips her long, fine, straight, black hair. Starts rubbing sand off her legs, well...trying to.

With the waves crashing on the shoreline and the soft blow of the wind, Angelle answers, "I did." Angelle wiggles her toes in the sand a little more then draws her knees to her chest and wraps her arms around her legs.

"How long is it?"

"Come on, Tash. You know how Angelle love to write. So, it's probably a book long." 15 year old Nikolai jokes.

Nikolai Arzukas is a shy 15 year old with fine, wavy, brown hair is medium-length, almond-shaped eyes the color of chestnuts, tall and has a lean build, and nut-brown complexion. He is an shapeshifting wolf; the only one in his family that doesn't need the moon to transform. Like Angelle, Nikolai is also Royalty, however his parents rule the Northern part of the Island. Nikolaiis the fifth youngest son of King Mathis and Queen Iseme.

14 year old Tashlynn Endell has azure eyes,  fine, straight, midnight black hair is neck-length, short and has a thin build, and skin is light-colored pecan brown complexion. She is a Nymph with the ability to read some mysticals and all Imaris minds. A trade she was taught by her great grandfather hours before he passed away, when Tashlynn was only 4 years old.

Angelle playfully swats at Nikolai, he chuckles, "You know it's true."

"For your information, that page limit is 6 and I wrote 5 so.." She sticks her tongue out at Nikolai. Tashlynn smiles as she wanves over an male elf carrying a brown steel platter full of cold drinks of different colors. He comes over and bends down, smiling an amazing smile at Tashlynn. It was quite obvivous that he has a crush on Tashlynn.

"Tashlynn." He spoke with an accent.

"Hey Scott. May I have the blue one today?" Tashlynn asks and flashes him a smile. Nikolai and Angelle stare at Tashlynn while she openly flirted with Scott who had to be at least in high school; he is a good friend of Angelle's brother.

~~Due to her sister's rudeness on the way home and at the family table, Angelle decided to eat her dinner in her room. Donatello enters her room and closes the door behind him. "I know you are angry with Gianna for what she did to Tashlynn and Nikolai and for what she said on the way home." He sits by her on her queen sized bed. Angelle puts her plate down beside her; half finished.

"She...I don't understand why she has to be that way to my friends. i honestly think it's because she has no friends and she made herself become an outsider at school. But, that is no reason to be rude to my friends." She rants to Donatello.

"You two use to be so close. I guess she figured that since she had you, she wouldn't need any friends. But, once you met Tashlynn then Nikolai, you just pushed her off to the side. So, I think she is jealous and hurt."

"I don't care if she is jealous. Still no reason to be rude to people who did nothing to you." Angelle explains. Donatello agrees with Angelle, "Well, it's fine. She will be OK." Donatello stands up, walks to the door, and opens it. He turns and says, "Good night." Then leaves the room.

Angelle tosses and turns as she sleeps. She beings to have the same nightmare she has been having for the past few months again; that haunting nightmare.

(She is at the top of Sesagar Hill, a very high hill near the beach. There are dark clouds starting to glide in and pour down rain; heavily. In the dream, this time she is watching the battle happen, unlike in the other dreams she is the mystical that betrayed them. But, now...it's the war. The once beautiful beach that her and her friends hung out at is now covered in blood and body parts of Imaris and Mysticals. Angelle didn't even understand why the war was going on. The dream then changed over to her being the mystical that destroyed everything. The sea mystical drops the last of the Infinities in the hands of an male Imari; smiling. The Imari smiles and eyes the Infinities. "So, can I be an Imari now? Like you promised me?" Angelle knew who the sea mystical is, it really shocked her that, it would be that mystical.  The Imari laughs uproarously causing the sea mystical to frown. "Stupid sea creature. There is no way to turn you into a human." The Imari pockets the Infinities and pulls out an handgun from his back pocket, aiming it at the sea mystical. "You are so foolish and desperate, it's pathetic." A shot rang.)

The shot causes Angelle to snatch out of her sleep, drenched in sweat from fear. She looks at her clock: 6:03am. Wiping sweat from her face, she gets out of bed and sets off downstairs to get her some cool water then go back to bed. Once down the stairs, she sees her family sitting in the living room. Forgetting about the water, she asks, "W-what's going on?"

"The Infinities that protect this Island are gone...all of them." Their mother, Cayenne informs with a cool exterior. Angelle walks further into the living room and sits on the blue leather love seat across from her father.

"But how? That's inhumanly impossible." Gianna asks near tears. It appears that she had already been crying about the situation.

"Exactly," Angelle jumps in, "some sea mystical, if we can still call it that, has betrayed us and exposed us to Imaris."

Her family looks at Angelle. She begins to explain. "I have been having thesse dreams...nightmares about this for weeks now. I have told dad, but it seems as though, he didn't tell mom like I asked him to do so." She busts her dad for not listening to her. "But, that's a different matter now."

Cayenne looks at her husband with disgust causing him to shrink down into his chair in shame. Angelle shakes her head, she knew her father wouldn't say anything, but she knew that she should have went to her mother herself. "What is going to happen to us now?"

"Your mother and I want you to go to the states." Their father says as his wife's gaze is still piercing at him even though she stopped staring at him a while ago.

Donatello shakes his head in protest, "No, I want to stay with Uncle Rawle and Auntie Clara."

Cayenne's eyes widen. "Are you sure about that, son?"

The reason hy she asks that is because she knows how strict her sister and her brother in law can be and sometimes are. But, for Donatello he knew that as well but he also knew that they could help him get into the best musician schools there. He nods sealing his choice.

"Alright." Cayenne turns to her daughters. "I have arranged for you two to go to an orphanage."

Before Angelle could protest or ask why in the hell did their mother want to send them to an orphanage, Gianna jumps in and answers for them, "Alright."

"Great. If we are not back in 2 years then my dad will come and get you." Their mother explains the procedures. Angelle did't understand the whole Orphanage business, she didn't want to go. But why would Gianna want to do? Angelle had a better idea but when she tried to voice her piece, it was ignored. "Go pack, children."

~~Gianna takes her seat next to Angelle on the plane. The goodbyes to her parents, Donatello, Zakerias, and Tashlynn was really bittersweet. Unexpectedly, the war had broken out later that afternoon. Angelle was in her room reading, when she heard an unfamiliar sound. Angelle snatched up and went to go look out her window. She was greeted by a bloodied battle between Imaris and Mysticals, the Imaris were very well armed. The last thing she saw before her family entered her room was Zakerias combating against the sea creature that destroyed the Islanders way of life. They all had rushed them to the plane on the roof. Tashlynn was there and Zakerias also, however he was covered in blood. Couldn't tell if it was his blood or the sea creatures.

Angelle sighs closing her eyes at the image of Zakerias covered in blood with a crazed hellish look in his eyes. "I heard you and Zakerias talking last night." Gianna says trying to make small talk with her sister. She feels as though they have lost their connection they once had; Gianna. Her thoughts interrupted, Angelle opens her eyes, "Hm? Oh, yeah. He vowed to kill the sea creature that did what they did." Angelle smiles. "He did." Short images of Zakerias covered in blood flash through her mind.

Gianna frowns, "I mean the second time." Angelle tenses up and blinks, remembering that conversation very well.

Seconds maybe even minutes later, Zakerias returned to Angelle's window. When he came back, he started spilling his guts. Angelle shook her head, not understanding because he was talking to fast. "Wait, what? Slow down. Start over."

"My love, you are my soullove. And I am having a hard time letting you go and keeping this to myself as well." Zakerias ran his fingers through his hair. Zakerias goes into explanation, "Yes. When you first invited me here, your grandmother and mother said that your soul and my soul have connected in a very ancient way. I asked her what ancient way and all she did was smile. Until I asked my great-grandma, all she could tell me what was Beloved and Soulloves were. We call it Soulprinters."

At that time, Angelle was just learning about soul connecting for vampires and wolves. But, she never heard about two different species connecting. "Nik." Angelle calls to him as she stands, "we c-can't do that. It's against the law." She stammers.

Zakerias drops to his knees in front of her. "Yes, we can. When your parents found this out, they threw out that law. They also figured that it would be nice to have different hybrids species and it would give them a reason to buy that other island." Zakerias stands up and sits next to Angelle, taking her hands into his. Angelle stammers, "B-but, we are too young and I will be loving very soon."

Zakerias nods. "I know. But I will find a way that we can do it. I promise."

Angelle frown deepens as she notices that has taken Gianna's hand and angry that Gianna was eavesdropping in on her conversation with Zakerias. "Oh that." Angelle answers.

Gianna looks at her sister realizing her face has turned red. "Yeah, they knew it would happen but I don't think they thought it would happen so fast."

Angelle lets go of Gianna's hand, "Yeah, but I don't get it."

Angelle laughs knowing her sister didn’t know the Sensa Rise that she and Zakerias did months back before they even knew about Soulprints and Soulloves. Sensa Rise is a machine that Mysticals use to file out emotions. It was still under construction and needed further testing, but Zakerias knew away to get around that. "He has this emotional and mental attraction to you and you, the same for him. The physical attraction will be there soon."

Angelle enjoys talking to her sister, she began to realize how she did leave her sister high and dry, but she didn't leave her that high and dry. She introduced Gianna to Tashlynn and Zakerias, but Gianna didn't seem interested in being a part of their crew. "And it is possible to have two because remember when father would talk about our ancestors? There was one named Arrianna Lovelace who Soulprinted two mates and she kept both."

Gianna remembers, "Right. It didn't end well for her though." They giggle. Angelle begins to fall asleep, half waking up when the plane went through turbulence. She hears Gianna calling her name, Angelle wakes up to see the plane half empty and the remaining people struggling with their luggage. They get up, grab their luggage, and exits the plane to the lobby of the airport.

-----

The lobby of the airport is busy with people bustling from one part of the airport to the next also freezing cold. Some people running to catch their next plane and others to catch a cab. While in the overcrowded lobby, Gianna and Angelle grab their other bags from the baggage claims area. They look around and find woman dressed in a blue dress and snow boots. She is lamely holding a cardboard square with Angelle's and Gianna's last name on it. When they reached the lady, she smiles and says, "Hello Lockheart?" They nod. "Great. Follow me, please." They follow the lady outside to a black SUV. The hot sun beat down on Angelle's face; she didn't get why the lady was wearing snow boots in the heat; shielding her face from the sun. The lady opens the backdoor for Angelle and Gianna; they get in along with their bags and closes the door. The woman flips her blonde hair out of her face and gets into the driver seat, cranks the car, and drives from the crowded airport. While the lady drives, she puts on her sunglasses and asks, "What are your names?"

"I am Angelle, I go by Angie sometimes." Angelle introduces herself.

"I am Gianna. Gia."

The lady nods. "I am Josee. The driver for Sunset Orphanage. Do you have any questions for me?"

Angelle and Gianna shake their heads. Josee nods. Angelle couldn't believe this is happening to her and her sister; her family and friends. She knew that she should have opted for going with Donatello or someplace else other than an orphanage.

~~They go up the stairs except Donatello whose room is in the lowest part of the house, not the basement but above the basement due to him and staying up late playing music. Angelle shakes her head as she packs what she believes are the most important things. She knew that she should have told her mother instead of her father. At least she knew her mother would have put an end to it and found out if Angelle's dreams were just dreams or reality. Angelle looks outside and sees the black clouds roll smoothly across the early morning dark sky; just like in her dream. The clouds darken the entire island. Too weak to continue packing, Angelle sits down on her bed.

Starting to think about why her mom would put them in an orphanage unless her mother really thought or knew that they wouldn't come back alive from the war. Angelle's thoughts were interrupted by her father and mother entering her room. Angelle doesn't move for she is a little annoyed by what is all happening. "Are you okay?" Her mother asks, sitting down by Angelle.

"No, I am not. I am leaving everyone I know and everything I love all because of a sea creature (Creature is an insult and very demeaning.). I told dad to tell you about the dreams I have been having but I don't think he did."

Viscin rubs his nape as his wife stares intensely at him. Angelle knew that look and she knew that her father hadn't told her mother a single thing about the nightmares; just like Angelle thought. Her mother then turns to Angelle, "I know that it is a lot to take in with so little time. But, we didn't want or don't want you kids being here for this. I also do not want you guys to be enslaved if they do win. Scrubbing floor or serving anyone...no."

Tears that Angelle's tried to hold back ends up sliding down her cheeks, her mother cradles her in her arms. "I know it's really bad. But, it's what's best for you all."  Her mother says.

Her father sits on the opposite side of Angelle and pulls something from his pocket. The glimmer of the necklace as the room light hits it catches her eyes. "What's that?" Her father explains, "This is a power locket medallion. Since you have not come into your vampire powers as fast as your sister or brother, this will protect you and store what powers of the vampire you do have and will come into."

Angelle looks at the medallion confused as to what her father just told her. Seeing the confusion, he re-words the explanation, "If someone tries to harm you in any way, shape, or form this," He holds up the necklace with golden vampire fangs as a locket, "will protect you. Now, I am not sure how but I know it will." He leans in and clasps the necklace around her neck. The Persian gold vampire fang medallion began to glow a silver hue and a soft hum echoes from the medallion as it began to store whatever powers she didn't know she had. (If she didn't have any powers at all, the hue would have been a deep brown. A deep red, if she had all her vampire powers. And a silver if she only has a few. However, her parents don't really know what the colors mean.) Angelle flinches at the sudden pain of the medallion and could feel the silver hue slithering through her veins causing her to glow abruptly then the glow dies down. (The medallion once belonged to Arianna Lovelace; the vampire female that started the clan. She bought the medallion from a Witch Doctor; declaring that she was tired of the vamp life and wanted to become human again. Since there was no possible way to really change her back to being a human, she took the alternative instead; The Medallion. It allowed her to use her powers with limitations and has for her vampire ways, the medallion limited her blood hunger and her need to sleep during the day. However, all that broke when she turned her first lover into a vampire and swore that he wouldn't walk alone. She broke the medallion's power and kept it in a safe place. Since then it's been passed down and kept sacred for centuries.)

"We do love you, Angelle. We want you to know that or forget that." Her father says. They get up to leave but Angelle stops them by getting up from her bed. "Wait." They stop and turn to Angelle. Angelle then asks, "Why an orphanage?"

Her mother shrugs her shoulders, "Just figured it would be easy for you and Gianna to get used to." With that they leave and go into Gianna's room; which is downstairs. Angelle could hear her sister blundering dramatically and loudly. Angelle shakes her head and purses her lips together at her sister's dramatic-ness. Closing her door, she goes back to packing up her room. A knock at her window causes her to jump. Going over to the window she nearly trips over a black and brown teddy bear with a red bow on his neck, she picks it up and remembers when ---another knock interrupts her thoughts. She sets the bear on the bed and goes to the window and opens it, Zakerias climbs through the window in a haste.

"Angelle." As he hugs her, she can see throughout the window that panic was starting to settle into the Island. Mysticals were running around and some of them were taking off. She hugs him back burying her face deep into his shirt, not wanting to see the horrible truth that she tried to fix. Zakerias could sense her worry. She lets go and says, "Someone has destroyed our lives and I can't stay here anymore, because of the war. I tried to warn father about it." She lays her head back on his broad chest. "I know." He strokes her hair, "I don't like that you have to go, not at all."

All the times that she has hugged Zakerias, she has never really heard or felt how fast and hard his heart would beat. Until now. "I leave either today or tonight, depending on the way's entry." She tells him. She could fell him nod and vows, "I will kill the sea creature that has done this to us and I believe I know who it is as well."

Angelle steps back and sighs, shaking her head. "That won't solve anything because of the Imaris. They are still going to come and invade the Island."

Zakerias came to realize that taking them out would be a totally different matter. Especially for him because he has never killed an Imari before. He didn't know what to say, "I will tell Tashlynn you said bye." Angelle nods and Zakerias climbs out of the window.

~~They arrive at the Orphanage, the afternoon sun glazes on the orange, six story building. Angelle gets out of the SUV and grabs her bags with Gianna doing the same. Josee looks at the girls, struggling with their bags, but does nothing to help. "Come on, girls." They follow Josee into the building and instantly the sounds of small children screaming, laughing, and playing fills Angelle's ears. Two kids run pass Angelle as she and her sister follow behind Josee up four flights of stairs. They turn down a pink hallway and stop at a blue door, the only blue door on the hallway. Josee knocks on the door and opens it without waiting for an answer. The inside of the office is painted with a bright pink color and sitting at an blue oak desk is a heavy set female, with a thin mustache. The heavy set female stops writing and looks up. "Oh hell Josee." The female's high pitched voice greets and her dark brown eyes land on Angelle and Gianna. "So, these are the girls. Nice to meet you two."

"Nice to meet you as well." Angelle and Gianna greets back. The heavy set female looks to Josee. "Josee, you may leave." Josee closes the door as she exits the room. The woman stands up and leans on the front of the desk. "I am Ms. Flo, the owner of this lovely establishment."

"I am Gianna and she's my young sister; Angelle." Gianna introduces themselves to Ms. Flo.

"Hmm. What grade are you two in? Are you twins?” Ms. Flo bombarded them with questions and such.
“No, we are not twins. We get that a lot, though.” Angelle explains. She never saw it, the twin part considering that she looked nothing like Gianna.
Gianna laughs, “Yeah. I am 15 years old and in the 9th grade.” Turns to Angelle. Angelle answers, “I am 13 years old and in the 10th grade.”
Seeing the confusion on Ms. Flo’s meaty face, Gianna quickly answers, “She got bumped up a few grades. Because she works hard and studies.” Gianna admits. “Me. . .Not so much for the studying or spending my time in the library trying to get extra credit work in.”
Ms. Flo is taken aback at the information that she is getting, “Gianna don’t you even feel second to your sister?”
Angelle thought that was a weird question but she wanted to know her sister’s answer to that. Gianna looks up and smiles, “No, not really. She’s always been extremely smart and there is no reason to be jealous. Besides, I can learn a lot of things from her.” Gianna states gently nudging Angelle. Angelle smiles know that was a complete and utter lie. One point, she heard Gianna talking crap about her on the phone with her one and only friend. But, Angelle had to let that go.
Ms. Flo smiles remember her own sister, “Me and my sister were that close. You two must be very close.”
Gianna nods. Angelle shrugs her shoulders slightly, as close as the Earth is from the Sun. “Okay.” Ms. Flo sits back down at her seat, it creeks and she offers the girls to have a seat in two chairs that are in the front of her desk. They sit down and listen. “Down to business. Here at Sunset, we do schooling of all kinds to get you ready for the ‘real’ world and a job. Anything that you want to learn, one of our teachers will teach you. We do have rules here, however I am sure you two will learn them rather quickly. We also have handbooks with the rules.” She opens a drawer and hands them the handbook which is a small booklet that is six pages long. “The rule that I am really strict about is the bullying rule. We do have chores here as well, almost everyone pulls their own weight.”
Angelle and Gianna nods.
“Great. Schooling for both of you starts at 7am and ends at 2:10pm. On weekends, you can go to the playground or run errands with Josee. For doing chores, you do get an allowance depending on what chore you do. No chores, no allowance.”
They nod as they stand up hoping that this was the end of the lecture. Angelle was starting to get a little ill due to the office starting to smell like fish and a meat locker. “Do you need help finding your room?” She hands them a key with a red tag on it that has their room number scribbled on it in blue sharpie. Angelle takes the key and reads the number: 526. They shake their heads. “Okay. Welcome to Sunset.”

They exit the office not knowing where the room is. They wonder around trying to find it with heavy luggage, slowing them down. After wondering on each floor and climbing two flights of stairs they finally find their room at the end of the hallway with a green, dirty carpet. Their door is a dingy orange color. Angelle unlocks the door to their new housing unit. The door opens with an annoying loud creak, entering; they are astonished by the multi-color room. Angelle looks at Gianna. The room has two twin beds, two medium sized dressers, and one small closet. Angelle takes the bed by the window, leaving Gianna with the bed next to the wall. Angelle sits on the bed, tired. “How? How all of a sudden did we become orphans?” Gianna sits by Angelle, “I know but we have to be strong about this.”
“This is really bad. We have had wars before and we would either stay or fight or be taken to grandfather’s academy. Why wasn’t that an option this time?”
“I don’t know. But all we can do is stay here and wait.”
As angry as she is with her sister for accepting this option, she knew that Gianna is right. However, she didn’t like the fact that her parents were at war along with everyone else that decided to stay and help that she loves. She didn’t even know if they were ever coming back, Gianna gets off the bed and starts to unpack her own clothes. Angelle lets the worry and jet lag come over her, she lays down and instantly falls asleep.

What seems like a few minutes of sleep is interrupted by a loud blaring sound of a whistle. Angelle turns over to look at the clock on the wall that reads 9:12am. She didn’t even realize that she had slept so long, seeing her sister motioning for her to follow, Angelle gets up and follows her sister outside of their room door to see other kids their age lined up in front of their own room doors. Angelle rubs the sleep out of her eyes seeing Ms. Flo coming down the hallway with a leather brown belt in her hands, with each step the floor creaks, she stops at Angelle and Gianna. Angelle eyes the belt wondering what it was for as Ms. Flo turns and struts back down the hallway. The hallway is eerily silent, Ms. Flo stops at the beginning of the hallway.
“Someone on this hall has broken a rule of the Sunset code.” Ms. Flo spoke with a malevolent tone that made some kids shiver with fear. “Taking candy from one of the little kids. Now, usually there are no punishments for this as long as the kid shares it with you. However, in this case the child says differently.”
Angelle could sense a horrible fear from the kids, she couldn’t tell which child it was coming from. But, she felt something and it was very unusual to her; this feeling. They all look as if they were about to wet themselves, Angelle gently fiddles with the medallion around her neck. Ms. Flo swings the belt back and forth careful as not to hit an innocent child but to intimidate the children. “Larsen Monteague, step forward.”
A medium brown complexioned girl with short black twisted hair steps forward with attitude, but Angelle could now feel her fear; very clearly. Now that she has been singled out. “Yes, ma’am?” Larsen asks with a southern drawl.
Gianna tenses up and grabs Angelle’s arm as Gianna stares in fear. Angelle just stares in alert but on guard. Ms. Flo purses her lips together then says, “We have had this conversation with each other plenty of times before in the past about this same issue.”
Larsen comes back, “Yes, we have. I have told you that my. . . MY sister isn’t supposed to have any type of candy. She is already hyperactive enough. She even takes medication for it.”
“What we give her is our business, not yours. Assume the position.”
Larsen shouts, “I am her sister and it IS my business what you guys give her.” She faces the wall, places her hands on the wall, and bends over. Angelle saw the tears swelling up in Larsen’s eyes before she turned to face the wall.
Suddenly, Angelle starts tearing up herself as she is feeling all sorts of emotions. Ms. Flo holds the belt and just as she was about to strike Larsen, Angelle yells out before Gianna could stop her. “STOP!”
Ms. Flo drops her hand to her surprise. She comes speeding down the hallway, making the floor shake a little, stopping at Angelle. Scared, Gianna pulls Angelle’s arm as Ms. Flo stops inches from Angelle’s face. Angelle steps more in Ms. Flo’s face, never backing down for what she believes in and who she helps, no matter what it costs. Angelle could feel everyone’s eyes on her and her sister’s grip tighten around her forearm as she faces off with the large owner.
“You dare speak out?” Ms. Flo growls.
“Yes, I do. I am sure that she has another reason other than the hyperness that her sister has. Don’t you?” She asks Larsen wiping the spit Ms. Flo put on her face.
“She’s a diabetic. She can only have sugar-free candy.” Larsen explains.
Angelle looks at Ms. Flo, sneering, “See. There is no real reason to strike Larsen. She is just trying to keep her sister alive.”
“Get…ready for class. All of you.” Ms. Flo demands never taking her eyes off Angelle. Never in her years of owning the Sunset has Ms. Flo had a child talk back to her or stand up for another child to save the child from a beating. Ms. Flo goes down the hallway in a fit of rage and disappears down the stairs.
Angelle turns to go into her room to get ready for class until a hand stops her. Angelle turns to see Larsen. “Hey, I wanted to say thank you for helping me back there. No one has ever really helped me before.”
Angelle smiles, “No problem. I just didn’t want you to get hurt for trying to help your sister. It just didn’t seem very right.”
“Yeah, I was told to never give her candy unless it is sugar-free. But, Ms. Flo doesn’t care about the well-being of us children. She may seem like it at first, but she is only in this for the easy money. We are nothing but a huge paychecks to her.”
Angelle raises her eyebrow at the honesty of Larsen. Larsen laughs at the arched brow. “Thanks for the information but I have to get ready for class.”
“What grade are you in?” She asks before Angelle goes into her room.
Stopping, Angelle answers, “10th.”
“Great. I will show you where the classroom is. I can wait.”
Angelle walks into her room and closes the door behind her. Gianna then starts on her. “What was that all about? You could have gotten us in big trouble, Angie.”
“For what?” She looks through her drawer and finds a red shirt, putting it on. “Saving Larsen?” She finds pants. “Psh and since when do you care about trouble?”
Gianna forcefully turns Angelle around almost shaking her, “Listen,” she whispers, “we are vampires…well…and they are mortals. We can’t do that. Or do you not remember the war?”
Angelle knew where she was going with this and snatches her Gianna’s grip. “Not all of you people are bad or want to suck their blood or even need to suck blood.” Angelle saw Gianna jerk her head at ‘you people’. “And just because our ancestors were mean doesn’t mean we have to be. And you know I don’t like seeing other kids or people being hurt for any reason.” She puts on her blue sneakers. “See you after class.” She leaves, meeting Larsen in the hallway. Angelle knew that this was going to be a hard transition for her sister, but Angelle was easy on making friends no matter where she went and she refused to be a recluse. Then, Gianna saying that vampire deal. Nerved Angelle.
