Chapter One

-Third Person POV-

She felt her heartbeat start up again, her mind working again, her body losing the numbness. Was it a dream or a miracle? Was she going to Heaven? It felt as though she came back to life. The woman opened her eyes to find a preteen girl with light blue hair in ponytails and different colored eyes; one green and one blue. Who the hell was she? She sat at the side, mumbling a prayer. When she looked around, she found herself in a room that belonged in a movie. The walls were glossed with golden paint. The room had nothing in there, save for the bed; a large, golden mirror; and the dresser. It looked nothing like how she remembered her room.

"Where...am I?", she whispered.

The young girl that prayed jumped in fright as she realized the woman lying in the bed was awake. "Ehh?! Y-You're already awake? But Maemi said it would take at least a month for you to be even strong enough to open your eyes!", She exclaimed. The young girl leaned in enough to burst her personal bubble, then withdrew and ran for the door. "Amazing! It only took three days! I have to tell Maemi about this!"

The woman frowned. "Hey, you didn't answer my question..."

As the girl was about to open the door, she turned back to the woman. She frantically bowed and said, "Ah! My apologies! You're on the planet Galaxia, home to one of the strongest races in the Universe!", before the woman could ask anymore questions, the girl quickly said, "Excuse me for a moment! I'll be back very soon!"

She left and closed the door behind her. The woman stood up in the bed, promptly looking at herself in the mirror. All of her features were unchanged, except for her skin that paled only slightly. Her shoulder-length, red hair; her light brown eyes; her short stature; they didn't change one bit. She sat up in bed easily and tried to wrap her head around what happened, but the only thing she came up with was that she died and was resurrected.

Many questions circulated in her head. How long has she been dead for? How did she get here? What is Galaxia? Who are these people that look like humans? Are they aliens? How did she come back to life? Why was that girl praying beside her bed? Slowly the woman got up from her bed and opened the door, revealing a huge, decorated hallway. Seeing as there was no sign of anyone, the woman tiptoed across the hallway, going wherever it took her.

-----

For a while, it seemed as though the halls repeated endlessly with nobody in sight. All of the halls had the same glossy, golden paint with pillars left and right. Beside every other pillar were huge, decorative vases, most of them being blue with some flower pattern. The woman became annoyed at how she was trapped in an endless place with nobody in sight. That was until she heard two young women talking from afar. The woman quickly ducked behind a large vase as the two turned the corner, laughing and talking to each other.

"...do good for my brother. I mean, he's always so cold and distant.", one of them said.

"You think, Lianna? You sure its not the stress of his job?", the other asked.

"I'm sure! And yes, his job is stressful, but what are we to do about that?", Lianna jumped up and down like a little child. "Think about it, Kyoko! It can be a stress reliever! Talking about your feelings reduces stress and depression!"

Kyoko sighed and shook her head. "I hope this works. Your brother isn't as imaginative as you."

The woman wondered what they were talking about, and if that whole conversation had anything to do with her. She sneaked away from the vase and turned the corner. Completely out of the two visions, she continued exploring this mansion.

The mansion was like an endless maze to her. She felt as though she lost herself in it. The woman started to think that it wasn't much of a mansion anymore and more like a palace. The thought of returning to her room crossed her mind, but the halls looked so identical that she couldn't trace where anything was. She was only left with the choice of roaming the halls.

She saw three shadows turning the corner, slowly approaching her. The woman ducked under another vase in the hallway. When she snuck a peek, it was the blue-haired girl along with a woman and a man. They all walked in a strange synchronization, talking about someone.

"Who is she exactly?", the older woman asked.

"I identified her as Cici. She's just a regular human.", the blue-haired girl answered. "I don't know how she escaped! She shouldn't have enough strength to move yet!", she was about to say more when the man stretched his arm out to stop her.

"It's alright, Mitsuko. These things happen.", he said sternly. "She couldn't have gone very far. I assume that she lost herself in these halls already."

'Shit. They're looking for me!', the woman, Cici, thought frantically. As they turned the corner and were out of sight, she ran off in the direction they came from. She looked back to see if they heard her and came to get her back, but there was no one. "Good. They're gone...I should head back to my room...", she turned back, only to bump into something...or someone. "Ouch! What the hell?"

"Then maybe I can escort you to your room.", the man Cici saw earlier suddenly appeared. She looked up to see that he was much taller than her. He had curly, but slightly messy, dark blue hair and almost soulless pale blue eyes. He wore what looked like a uniform, along with a cloak. Cici found him to be quite handsome, but she already considered it as a trap.

"No thanks. I don't want some creepy man taking me to my room.", Cici remarked sarcastically, but she quickly went back to being serious. "But seriously, who are you? And how the hell did you get here so quickly?"

His neutral facial expression didn't change. "I would've asked you the same, but I already know who you are, Cici.", he said. "I'm Harry Ferrington, the leader of the Galaxians."

"Oh, good! You can answer all my other questions as well!", Cici said happily, clapping her hands. "Okay-"

He frowned slightly and shook his head. "I don't have time to play twenty questions with you. We can talk about the matter tomorrow, once you get some rest.", he stepped forward, and she jumped back. Cici's face darkened into a mix of confusion and anger.

"No, you're going to answer my questions! I'm not going to be kept in the dark by some creepy man that claims to be the leader-", she suddenly was attacked by light, which binded her hands and feet. She fell forwards, squirming against her binds. "What the heck!? Release me at once!"

Harry narrowed his eyes at her. "I'm afraid that's no longer an option.", he looked up at the other girl walking with him, who was behind Cici. "Maemi, take her back to her room please."

She didn't want to be taken back to her room, she wanted answers! As the woman, Maemi, approached, she slightly scooted towards Harry. Maemi scratched her head and said, "Sheesh! Even though I bounded you, you're still being persistent."

"...This is amusing.", he remarked. Maemi approached her one more time as Cici tried to get up. Cici got up and snapped her head backwards, hitting the woman in the nose.

"Ouch! What kind of human is this?", Maemi said, covering her nose. She watched as Cici loosened the bonds of light. Maemi tried to bind her again, but she dodged to the left. "To be this strong within an hour of resurrection...it's unnatural!"

"Let me handle this.", he said as he closed his eyes.

Cici tilted her head, slowly approaching the man. "I'm not doing anything bad, I just want to know why I'm here!", that's when she noticed her advance came to a halt. She didn't stop, something forced her to stop. "Ugh, now what happened?"

"I made sure Maemi had an easy time getting you back to your room.", he replied, opening his eyes again. He ignored Cici's piercing glare and said, "Cici, I'll talk to you later. I have some business to attend to."

Before she could say anything else, he disappeared. Maemi huffed and easily lifted the human by the waist with one arm. She tried to fight back, but found she couldn't move her arms and legs at all. Still thinking about what happened in the past hour, she grumbled and let herself be taken to the room.

Maemi placed the woman in the center of the room. She then remarked, "So much work just to get you, a human, back to your room!", she then looked a bit closer at Cici. If she could've, she would've backed away. "Mortals shouldn't have so much strength after going through a resurrection. What makes you tick, human?"

"How am I supposed to know that!?", Cici shouted back. "And was I supposed to be weak after I came back to life? Because I felt just fine."

"Really? Hmm, I'm going to have to talk to Nobu about this when he gets back.", Maemi tapped her chin lightly, pacing up and down the room. She finally headed towards the room's exit, when Cici started shouting again. Maemi wearily turned back to her and asked, "Ah...what is it now, human?"

"I'm still stuck here! When will I be unstuck?", she asked, still stuck in her walking pose.

"Oh...", Maemi thought for a moment, then smiled. "Just...hang around for now." The woman left the room, leaving a grumbling Cici to do nothing but wait.

-----

It had been at least three hours since the whirlwind of events that happened to the red-haired. She had long fallen asleep in her statue-like state. Suddenly, she was awoken by the feeling of falling to the ground. Cici jumped, breaking her statue state and falling to the floor. Or at least, she thought she broke it.

'Cici, it's me. Sorry I didn't unbound you.', she could hear Harry in her mind, making her wonder for a second if she was dreaming. 'No, you're not dreaming. I'm a telepath.'

"Oh looks who's back!", she said sarcastically, crossing her arms. A great idea for a comeback made her way into her brain. As Cici was about to say it, she was cut off by the sound of his voice.

'No, you didn't scare me so much that I can't show my face to you.', he said, causing her to grumble more. 'Now then, didn't you wanted me to answers your questions? Or shall I leave your mind?'

"No, no, no! Answer my questions!", she pleaded. "I told you before, I refuse to be kept in the dark.", she thought of her first two questions. "What is Galaxia? And what are Galaxians?"

'Galaxia is a planet that's a few light years away from Earth. What you humans call your 'Heaven' is a place not far from here. The same applies to what you humans call 'Hell'. It's just a planet, about the size of Mercury, that is the centre of the planets in this Galaxy...hence the name.'

'And as for Galaxians, well, we're just people that inhabit this planet. We look like humans, and have some of the same systems as humans. But we aren't humans. We have powers, and unlike you humans, who are bound to rules, we're free spirits.'

"Alright...", Cici said, bobbling her head side to side. It already sounded complicated, but she just went along with it. Well, at least they aren't some strange aliens. "How did I come back to life?"

'You came back to life because of Mitsuko. She got you here on Galaxia and resurrected you here. This is where most humans go after they die, they come here for a second chance.', he explained.

"...It's going to take me a while to get used to this...", she remarked to herself, laughing nervously. "Okay, thanks, when I have more questions, I'll ask you."

'You do realize that there are others in this castle, right?', he said it as though she didn't understand. She frowned upon hearing that. 'I have a lot of work to do. Human leaders are the same, correct? Then you should know how I feel.'

"Still, I'll ask you until I meet everyone else, okay?", Cici said it as though she was the one making the commands. Harry was about to say something, but she cut him off. "Great! Now get out of my head."

'...If you so badly insist.', he said, with a hint of mockery in his tone. 'But may I ask one question before I leave? Who are you?'

"I'm Cici, the human you just revived or whatever? That should be pretty obvious. Why are you asking such a...dumb question?", she said, slightly annoyed by how obvious the answer is. She could've sworn she heard a sigh, like she was the stupid one. Once again, she frowned.

'Because you far surpassed the normal human standards.', he explained. 'You have such a strong will for the average human as well.'

She thought about that for a moment. To her, it explained why there was so much surprise when she revived. But still, what is so special about that? Yes, Cici understood that she exceeded the normal standards, but why did it cause so much surprise? Was it because Galaxians don't have such a strong will?

'I'll be leaving now. Goodnight, Cici.', he said. She felt the pressure on her head lift like fog. Finally, she can get a good night's sleep. She hoped to meet everyone properly tomorrow and start off on the right foot. But heading into the night, there was one thing still left on her mind that no one would be able to answer...

...How did she die anyways?

Chapter Two

-Cici's POV-

I woke up, wishing that I felt rejuvenated. Instead, I felt stiff and tired from the insomnia that plagued me last night. Although the bed was soft, it didn't feel like the bed I slept in when I was on Earth. Realizing that I had the same clothes on from yesterday, I decided to go on a little hunt. First, I looked in my closet...which had absolutely nothing. Ugh, what kind of palace is this? I thought they would at least have some clothes for me...

I stepped out of my bedroom, only to see the woman from yesterday that was walking with her friend. She was much taller than me, almost as tall as Harry. Unlike Harry though, her hair was a dirty blonde. The faded scars on her arms showed that she'd probably been in some fights. She glanced at me, with light brown eyes and exclaimed, "Oh, you must be the new human! What's up?"

"I was just looking for new clothes. I've been wearing these since yesterday...", I explained. She nodded, then took my hand and dragged me across the hall faster than the wind. What the hell? Is she taking me to her room? Some spare hallway closet? I wish she would at least tell me where she's going! "Where are you going?"

"To my room, of course!", she said as she opened the door into her room. "Sorry, we haven't revived anyone in this mansion in a while, so my brother and I seem a bit scatterbrained."

As she opened the closet doors, I just had to ask, "Your brother? Who's your brother?"

"My brother, Harry. You haven't met him yet?", she asked. Immediately, my face twisted into an annoyed one. She didn't see it though, thankfully. The woman was too busy picking out clothes for me to wear.

"Oh I've met him alright.", I simply said, earning a giggle from her. But it was funny how they're family. So far, she seems like the complete opposite than that arse! "You're much nicer than him though. He seems like some anti-social or something.", or at least I thought that until he started throwing clothes on me in her search for some.

Finally, the woman took out a white shirt with a tie around it and a pair of light blue shorts. "Yeah...", she sighed and turned back to the closet and took out a pair of black, flat shoes. "Here, they should fit you. These are some clothes I had when I was younger."

"Thanks.", I replied as I looked at the clothes. That's when I realized I didn't even introduce myself! "Oh, ummm...my name is Cici!"

She laughed and replied, "Oh, I already knew that! By the way, my name's Lianna. Betcha you didn't know that!"

We both laughed as I took up the clothes and was about to leave. Lianna put her hands on her hips and asked, "Aren't you gonna try them on here?"

"No, I'm taking them to my room.", I stubbornly replied, but that only made Lianna laugh.

"But I have to see if they fit you.", she explained. "Don't worry, we're both girls! No need to be shy!"

-----

So, I was stuck putting on my clothes in Lianna's room, even though it was just uncomfortable to change in the presence of her. She didn't really bother me for the most part and sat at her desk, doing paperwork. When I was done, I jumped in front of the mirror. The white t-shirt with the mini tie fitted me perfectly. Though the shorts were slightly too big for me; the same went for the flat shoes.

"The shorts and the shoes are too big...", I said. From the corner of my eye, I see the blond-haired woman get up from her seat and come behind me. From the mirror, I see her pulling at the waist of my shorts. "Sooo, do you have anything else that can fit me?"

Instead of actually answering my question, all she said was, "Wow. Humans sure are flimsy."

F-Flimsy!? Is she calling me weak and tiny!? "Hey! I'm not 'flimsy' and besides, no two human looks the same!"

"But humans always seem to be smaller than us Galaxians!", Lianna said, checking the shoes as well. "Hmm...I have a skirt that goes with this outfit, but I wasn't sure if you'd like it or not."

"Whatever fits really."

Lianna took out the skirt from the closet and threw it at me. "I'm not too sure about the shoes. Maybe Kyoko can take you out shopping some other day to get some. Kyoko is my friend, if you're wondering."

I wasn't a big fan of shopping, but I had no choice...unless I was planning to go shoeless for the time I'm staying here. I nodded and put on the skirt she gave me. That's funny, it fits me perfectly compared to the shorts she gave me moments ago. "Thanks, Lianna. Not only does it match my shirt, but it has the same color as my hair."

"No problem! I'm happy to help!", she replied. I exited out of the room in my slightly too big flat shoes.

As I exited her room, a guy I've never seen before approached her room. He was just as tall as Harry, with dark brown eyes and dreadlocks. It was small, but I could've sworn I saw a little red in the pupils. But before he could enter, he saw me going out.

"Hey, are those Lia's old clothes you're wearing?", he asked, pointing to my outfit. I didn't know who the hell this guy was, but I was almost certain that he knew Lianna very well. I nodded slowly and he instantly smiled. "I knew it! I can smell her scent on those clothes. Speaking of, you're that human that recently revived, right?"

Smell her scent on the clothes...what's that supposed to mean? Anyways, I replied, "Yeah...what's it to you?"

"It's just funny that you revived so quickly! And then I heard from Harry that you caused a lot of trouble when you did.", he explained, grinning all throughout.

Caused a lot of trouble?! I was just finding out what the hell happened and how did I get here! He was just being an ass and didn't tell me anything! I already felt my face turn red. "I was just finding where I was. And he didn't want to tell me."

"Guess that explains a lot.", he said. He smiled with his teeth showing and I could've sworn I saw fangs in the front. Before I could ask, Lianna came out of the room and tackled the man to the ground. "Gah! Good morning Lia! You scared the crap outta me for a second!"

"Yeah, I'm a pretty awesome ninja!", she said, letting him up. She turned to me and said, "I see you've met Nobu. Nobu, this is Cici. Cici, this is Nobu."

"Nobu? What kind of name is that?", I said, shaking my head.

"Well, what kind of name is Cici? Sounds like see-saw if you ask me.", he retorted, which naturally annoyed me. "Anyways, we're kind of alike in a way, so I guess we should be more friendly to each other.", he opened his hand out for me to shake it. I shook it hesitantly, trying to figure out what's common between us.

"Wait...how are we alike?", I asked, tilting my head. Honestly, he looked and acted completely different to me.

"Right! Like you, Nobu's not a Galaxian.", Lianna said suddenly. "But he's also not a human."

"But I'm from Earth!", he explained. I was still confused...how could you be from Earth and not be human? Unless he was some animal, but why did he look human? A mythological creature perhaps? But those were only present in folklore and stories. "I can see you're still confused.", he said with a grin. "I'll tell you when we become friends."

I narrowed my eyes, but didn't bother. "Right. Anyways, I should get going."

"Alright! We'll catch you later Cici!", Lianna and Nobu waved to me. I waved back and headed back to my room.

-----

It's been an hour and I can't find my damn room! Does it have legs and just moves around the castle? For goodness sakes, this is annoying! My legs were tired from walking, so I rested at the side of a hallway. Gee, why is this thing so big? How do these people get around and remember where their rooms are!?

Just in the nick of time, Harry telepathically said, 'Oh, are you lost?'

"Oh no, I'm just hanging around in the middle of nowhere.", I said sarcastically. "YES OF COURSE I'M LOST DAMMIT! GET ME BACK TO MY ROOM!"

'Stop yelling, you're so loud in my thoughts.', was all he said. I'm lost in your home and that's all you can say!?

"That's it!? I'm lost and that's the best you can do? I'm lost in your house or whatever and you just leave me here!", I whined and could hear a sigh coming from him. "Your sister is ten times nicer than you are!"

'I seen you've met my sister. I hope you didn't cause her too much trouble.', he said. I couldn't tell whether he was being sarcastic or not.

"Hey! I didn't cause her too much trouble.", I gritted my teeth. This guy's mocking responses got on my nerves! I like it when someone's honest, but it sounds like he's mocking me. "Anyways, just get me back to my room and I won't bother you."

'Actually, I called you because I need to take you on a tour around Galaxia.', he explained. 'This IS your new home. It's best if you know it well.', I wrinkled my nose in disgust. The last thing I wanted was for him to give me a tour of the area. 'Myria and I will give you a tour around.'

Oh wonderful, the lady whose nose I smashed will be there with me! I bet she's pissed at me for doing that yesterday. But I wonder, how did I do that? Aren't Galaxians supposed to be much stronger than humans? "Alright, fine. When are we leaving?"

'Right now.', he said. Before I could protest, he teleported me to what looked like the entrance of the palace.

-----

He stood there, staring at me with those dark blue eyes. I furrowed my brow; what was he looking at? "Hmm...my sister gave you her old clothes?"

"Yeah, what's it to you?", I asked, already annoyed with him. He shook his head and opened the door for me. When I stepped out, Maemi stood just outside, raising an eyebrow at me. She was only an inch taller than me, but looked older than I was. She had long, light blue, curly hair with light yellow eyes. I gulped, not knowing what she would say once I apologized. "Hello...sorry for hurting your nose yesterday."

"I guess it's okay.", she sounded indifferent, even though I might've fractured her nose. By the way, why does her nose look completely fine now? "I don't hold a grudge against you or anything. Just that it's very strange for a human to hit me that hard..."

"I was just thinking the exact same!", I exclaimed. Wow, usually people have a grudge on you when you do something to them. This is one of few people that I've met that actually doesn't hold grudges.

Harry watched the two of us, then said, "Alright...let's go. I don't want to stay in town for too long."

-----

We walked around town while they both showed me certain places. I nodded and tried to remember where some of them were. Especially the ice-cream place. But we didn't stay too long because of you-know-who. So Maemi invited us to a shrine. I didn't know what that was, but it sounded interesting.

We walked to a big, church-like place with the whole exterior covered in stained glass. A girl with long red hair, pale skin and in a short, red dress stood on the bottom. An older man wielding a huge sword stood at the top, aiming the sword towards the girl. It seemed as though it was telling a story. Maybe some Galaxian tale?

"Alright, this is the shrine. Please be respectful and try not to swear while you're in here.", Maemi said as she pushed open the doors. The first thing I looked at was the pictures covering the walls. The girl and the man seemed to be everywhere, fighting each other and destroying everything around them.

Suddenly, Maemi approached from behind and muttered, "The war between Galaxians and Vampires almost two thousand years ago."

Harry came up from behind me as well and continued. "A long time ago, vampires came from another world and landed on Galaxia. They fed on the populace and killed many in a matter of weeks. The Galaxian council was made at around the same time, made up of the strongest people in Galaxia."

"With the combined strength, they defeated most of the vampires. That's when their princess came out. There was a problem though. She wasn't a vampire, but a dhampir. A half-human, half-vampire. She had the strengths, but minimal weaknesses of both. She basically hunted down the Galaxian council and killed almost all of them. Benson Ferrington, one of the members of the council managed to split apart her vampire and human sides using his powers. He banished the vampire side to the bottom of Galaxia while the human side went to Earth."

I blinked as I took in that whole story. "Wow. So what happened to the vampires?"

"He's working on making a deal with them to live amongst the regular Galaxians.", Maemi explained, referring to Harry. "The war isn't over, but the horrible part of it is."

From the pictures, I could tell this was like the World Wars on Earth, except with vampires and Galaxians. Yet, the town seemed so peaceful and serene, like nobody has ever touched it before. How could such a war be healed without leaving any scars? This place is making me wonder a lot...there are so many unanswered questions tied to this place.

"I feel at peace here...", I said suddenly.

"Hmm...this place is a place of worship for anyone. When you do something wrong, this is the place you come to forgive.", Harry explained. "I always come here...it's a wonderful place for peace and quiet."

"Well, I come here because I maintain this place.", Maemi said.

"I think I'll consider visiting this place from time to time...", I said, continuously circling around the area.

-----

Soon after, we exited the area and went back to the palace. There, we saw some people lined up at the entrance. Maemi shook her head, Harry sighed, while I just stood there like a fool. Harry finally said, "What do they want? I already spoke to them three days ago."

A tall, pale man with broad shoulders approached, all dressed in dark purple. He had light red eyes and jet black hair. He held an umbrella with him for some unknown reason. "Ah! If it isn't Harry! I heard about the little human reviving here. Thought I might welcome her."

I stepped back, almost hiding behind the two of them. "What the hell do you want?"

"Very feisty, I see. Surprising for a mere human...", he said. In two seconds, he was there, standing in front of me. He leaned over and whispered, "Mmm...I haven't had human blood in a while. You do smell rather...sweet."

As he said that, my hand raised and I slapped him across the face. His head snapped to the side in a flash. Both Harry and Maemi jumped and I didn't realize what I did until I saw my hand still raised towards his face. He turned his head back towards me and started chuckling, "Ha ha! You may smell sweet on the outside, but I bet it tastes terrible once you drink it."

Harry narrowed his eyes. "Markus, what did you come for now?"

"Straight to the point, as always...", he replied, then he gave a half-hearted chuckle. "I'm just here to finalize the deal. My colleagues have agreed to the deal you've set out."

Harry's eyes widened slightly, but quickly reverted back to its neutral state. "...Alright, let's sign it."

Having absolutely no idea what the hell they're talking about, I leaned in to whisper to Maemi, "Umm...so what kind of deal have they decided on? Is it some kind of trade off or something?"

"No, you see, it's a deal for them to live amongst Galaxians, but they have certain restrictions so they don't end up killing the population. It's been taking a long time because the other vampires keep disagreeing with the other deals.", Maemi explained. I nodded, but I still wasn't too sure as we never had a deal like this on Earth. It sounded like something out of a fantasy story.

Maemi suddenly grabbed my hand and dragged me inside after them. Immediately, guards surrounded us and walked along. They seemed to be all fixated on me though. Could they all smell my blood like that other guy? Maemi seemed to ignore them with no trouble at all. Perhaps she wasn't scared of them?

"How's your sister, Lianna? She must be growing up to become a beautiful lady, I imagine.", Markus asked Harry. Boy, he sure likes to go off-topic and be friendly.

At first, Harry didn't respond, but then he said, "...She's doing well. She said she's getting married soon."

Woah, what!? But Lianna only looks like she's in her very early twenties! Almost nobody gets married at that age! Maybe that's how things work in Galaxia? But if so, how come Harry isn't married. Wait...what if he is!? "Maemi...who's Lianna getting married to? And is Harry married?"

"Lianna is getting married to Nin.", Maemi whispered. "And no, Harry isn't married. That's why a lot of young women are after him." I unconsciously made a confused face at her, so she said, "Basically, things work differently here than on Earth." I shrugged as we walked into the meeting room.

-----

When we arrived in there, more vampires were seated inside. A young woman, around the same age as Lianna, said, "Daddy! When will this pointless meeting be done? I'm starving!"

Ugh, what a brat, I bet she's spoiled by her dad. Markus sighed and said, "We'll get you something after, dear. We just need to sign his deal, alright?". But wait, why would she be acting like that if she was a young woman? She can just go out and get her own food.

I sat across from the woman. She had long, straight black hair, extremely pale skin and light red eyes. From the looks of it, she wore a red strapless dress with black lace around the top. She smirked at me and asked, "Why are looking at me like that, flimsy mortal? Curiosity killed that poor cat, did you know?"

That 'flimsy' word again!? Must be a word used to describe a human or something. "I'm just looking. And honestly, I'm sure I've survived more than you have in your lifetime, you leech."

"Huh. That's the first time a human's talked to me like that. Either you're brave or a brave fool, your pick.", she said, laughing. "By the way, my name is Katarina. And you must be Cici."

"I'm probably brave.", I said, laughing at myself. Then I realized that she somehow knew my name without me telling her. I sarcastically continued, "And gosh, everyone seems to know my name!"

"Why, you're a popular figure. As soon as you died, you were found in the palace. That's the first time ever since the appearance of the Sun Child.", Katarina exclaimed.

Maemi suddenly came into the conversation. "How do YOU know of the Sun Child?"

"My daddy told me of a great story.", she explained. "Once upon a time, a child made completely of light came down to the palace from the Sun. They believed her to be an angel from the Heavens. They said that depending on the circumstances, she could either be our savior or the devil who causes it."

Okay, I was still confused over this Sun Child, but Maemi seemed to be all worked up about it, so it must be important. Katarina smirked at her, but didn't say anything else as the meeting started. Maemi glared at her, but didn't say anything more either.

-----

Argh, when will this meeting end?! It's so...boring! How long does it take to sign a stupid paper? I swear, they're moving at snail's pace just to tick me off! I sat there, lying my head on the table, somewhat falling asleep. That's when Markus said, "Poor mortal, she's already falling asleep. We should sign it now..shouldn't we?"

I jumped up and quickly looked around, causing that Katarina to sneer. I tried to give her an intimidating glare, but it didn't seem to faze her. I crossed my arms, then tried to put my head down. I watched Markus, with pen in hand, about to sign the paper. Harry watched his hand intently, almost leaning over to see.

Suddenly, Markus stabbed the pen in Harry's hand. He yelped as the vampire said, "On second thought, I've changed my mind. I do hope you understand, Harry."

He, along with the some other vampires and Katarina, teleported off somewhere. The remainder that stayed suddenly attacked Harry. Faster than my eyes could trace, he seemingly took out two swords from under his cape and slashed the ones in front of him. He twirled with the two swords in hand, slashing the other vampires in his way. The ones that didn't approach right away, attacked now and managed to dig their nails into his arms and chest. Though, he ignored it and continued to slash. Harry spun around their attacks and landed his own. Soon, they were all killed, but strangely enough, their bodies didn't stay there. It slowly turned to dust, flying out the meeting hall door and into the air.

Harry, Maemi and I watched each other, waiting for someone to say something. Finally, I said, "What the hell...? All that for nothing?!"

"Something caused him to have a change of heart suddenly...", Harry explained. "I sensed a sudden disturbance in him when he stabbed me with the pen.", he looked back at his own hand, with the pen still stabbed in him.

Maemi looked at him. He had so many cuts on his arms, chest and stomach. There was also the pen stabbed in his hand. A small amount of blood poured from the wounds, but he completely ignored it. Wait, doesn't he feel any pain!? Maemi furrowed her brow and said, "We should get you to your room. We have to treat these..."

"Right...", he replied, causally walking out of the meeting hall. Maemi shrugged at me as she followed him. I followed slowly behind, wondering what could've caused them to suddenly change their mind.

Chapter III

-Third Person POV-

Cici handed Maemi the bandages. Without looking, she took them and cut pieces of it. Harry sat on the chair, unbuttoning the top part of his uniform. He let it fall to the ground and Maemi immediately picked it up.

Cici somewhat stared at him as she stood at the door. She was right when she guessed he was lean, but muscular. And it didn't help that his tanned skin help to define those muscles more. 'Even though he's an uncaring douche, his body looks beautiful.', Cici thought.

"Cici, Harry says to help me clean up and to stop staring at his body.", Maemi said aloud. Cici snapped out of her thoughts when she heard that, instantly turning red. "You can start by helping me put back these extra bandages."

Cici stuck out her tongue at Harry, then snatched up the bandages. She put them on the counter, beside the mirror and asked, "Now what should I do?"

As Maemi put on the medicine on a cotton ball, she pointed to Harry's clothes. "He wants you to put those in the bathroom.", she said, and Cici quickly put those away. When she came back, she sat on the bed and watched Maemi wiping one of the deeper cuts in his back. He slightly winced, but slowly relaxed as he got used to the burning.

"Ah, you should've let me help...now look at you!", Maemi said to Harry. He turned his head away from them and Cici could've sworn she saw him pout a little. "How many times have I told you you're not invincible?", she said, raising her voice a little.

"Well...", he started. "It would've been worse if you got hurt. I'm replaceable, you're not."

"That's true, but you have family and a nation you can't die young for!", Maemi explained as she went on to the last few cuts.

Cici, being extremely confused, asked, "Umm...what's the big deal over some little cuts? It won't kill him."

"That's true for regular cuts, but these are cuts inflicted by vampires.", Maemi replied. "You see, when they cut you or bite you, it sends out a poison that starts to take effect when you get too many cuts. Not only that, but I can't use my healing powers otherwise it reverses the healing."

"Geez, what kind of disease have these vampires been infested with?", Cici's eyes widen enough that they could've popped out of their sockets. She started thinking about it and said, "Wow. Our tales about vampires didn't tell us about that..."

"For all I know, they're probably different.", Maemi said, moving onto the cuts on his right arm. The redhead shrugged and sat on the side of the bed. She watched the blue-haired tend to his wounds, almost like a mother caring for her child.

-----

After she bandaged everything, he stood up and stretched his arms behind him. He whispered a 'thank you', before striding out the door. Maemi also said, "You can go now if you want, Cici. I'll be fine here."

"Oh, okay! I'll talk to you soon!", Cici replied, slowly walking out of the room. She vaguely remembered that her room was to the left of the hall...or was it to the right? Seeing the almost identical halls, her head spun and forgot everything. "Ohh...dammit! Looks like I'll be searching for my room again..."

'It's to your left, Cici.', Harry suddenly chimed in her mind. She grumbled and turned left instead. 'I'm in your room. I just wanted to talk to you for a moment.', before she could ask, his presence left her.

'Talk to me? What does he want with me?', she asked herself.

Walking left for quite a while, she turned into a room, praying that it's hers. Harry stood there, drinking what looked like wine. His back was turned to the large window in her room, resembling a stereotypical leader in a movie. Once she took a step inside, he gave her a piercing glare that made her froze.

"Umm...may I come in?", Cici asked, slightly pushing the door open. It felt like years before she could enter her own room. "So, what's this all about?"

"It's about the vampire situation.", Harry answered.

Cici raised an eyebrow. Obviously, she wasn't going to get an answer if she waited for him, so she started shooting questions. "Is it about the deal? Did you find out why he betrayed you at the last minute? Who are those vampires anyways?"

Harry glanced at her from the corner of his eye, saying, "You are extremely curious, aren't you?", he turned to face her, his face somewhat stern. "Curiosity is good, but it also poses a threat. You're from a completely different planet and are different from the rest of Galaxia. We of Galaxian Palace welcome you, but the people outside might not."

Cici frowned. "So...you're saying not to be curious?", she asked. Thinking of the situation made her angrier. "Well, how the hell would I know what's going on if I don't ask? I know no one will tell me anything if I don't ask!"

"I'm saying to stand down. These vampires are not the little ones in your human fairytales. They are much stronger and smarter than that.", he explained. He noted the stubborn look on her face and tried another method. "But...if you want to die a quick death, then don't do as I say. But know that when you die, you won't get a third chance and you'll be sent straight to hell..."

"Gah! Fine!", Cici yelled, having enough of that. She was so used to asking questions that it felt so awkward not to ask any. "...No more questions."

"Good. That's all I wanted to say.", he said. Harry stepped out of the room, closing the door behind him. She could've sworn she saw something behind his blue eyes, but it was only for a second before returning to its neutral state. "Goodnight."

"Oh! Um...goodnight.", Cici said, not even realizing it was nighttime. Time seemed to go too slow, like a snail. She jumped in bed, pulling the covers over her head.

The bed was comfortable, but it didn't feel like her old bed. Cici tried to close her eyes, but then she opened them again. The pattern repeated over and over, with her opening her eyes seconds after closing them. Somehow, it managed to tire her out enough to force her into falling asleep.

While she was sound asleep, a silhouette stood at the window. It placed its hand on the glass, leaving a foggy imprint of their presence. They watched for a few seconds the sleeping human before disappearing with the wind.

-----

"Ugh! I can't believe him!", Cici complained to Lianna, who giggled a little at the whole situation. "He just tells me that I'm not supposed to ask any more questions! I won't die if you answer a few simple things!"

Lianna cracked a smile. "I guess it's his way of looking out for you. Harry always does this, even if you don't want it or it annoys the heck out of you.", she turned to Cici and explained, "Think of him as being overprotective of the whole population! That's him alright..."

"Boy, imagine him having a girlfriend...", Cici said, rolling her eyes. "I bet he would always be jealous."

"I wonder the same thing sometimes!", Lianna replied. "It would be really funny."

They arrived at Lianna's headquarters, where she worked. Cici didn't ask what her job was because she had a feeling Harry would know and punish her. When she opened the doors, Cici was amazed at what she saw. "Wow! What is this place? It looks amazing!"

Lianna giggled. "You asked a question.", when the redhead realized it, she covered her mouth. The blond-haired laughed again, then said, "Don't worry, I'm not my brother. By the way, this is where I train my newest soldiers."

The base was literally a metal box. The walls were made of what looked like steel, but it could be something else. The floor also looked like some type of metal, but it wasn't steel. There was nothing much on the inside other than training dummies and doors on the farthest side.

Cici expected there to be much more men than women. Though, it was just about equal. The only thing she could conclude is that things worked differently on Galaxia. Lianna pushed the redhead in front of her. "Hey soldiers! This is the newest member of our Palace. Her name is Cici. She's from Earth and isn't accustomed to our way of life, so be very nice to her."

They waved at her, especially one of them, who seemed to be nice. It already felt as though this place was enough for Cici to tolerate. "So...Cici, this is our captain, Kyoko Winchester."

She looked down at Cici with a scowl on her face, one that told her to stay away. Kyoko had straight, long blonde hair that went to the lower back. Her green eyes could have pierced through the metal walls if it could. Every single hair on her head was neat and in perfect condition. "Hello, Cici."

"Oh! And these are our two lieutenants, Lilianna and Edward.", they both gave a friendly wave, the same one that Cici saw before.

Lilianna and Edward looked a lot like siblings, both with red-orange hair that barely touched their shoulders. They both had some of the bluest eyes that Cici's ever seen. Oddly enough, they both had the skinny look of a human. 'Maybe they are human...'

After Lianna made her meet everyone, she made the human take a seat on the benches nearby. For the rest of the time, Cici watched them practice. She had to say, Lianna was pretty strict on them, but at the same time she helped them improve. Cici thought of her as a good teacher, even though she looked a bit young to be in charge of a whole squad.

After the training was done, Lianna came up to her first, wiping the sweat off her forehead with a towel. She joked, "Hey, looks like you didn't fall asleep on me!"

At first Cici was confused, then she remembered the meeting. "Hey! Just so you know, I didn't fall asleep at that meeting, I almost fell asleep.", but that only made the blond-haired giggle. "I bet your brother told you that, didn't he?"

"Yeah. He told me all about it.", Lianna said. She wanted to say something else, but shut her mouth after.

Cici noticed this and asked, "What? Did he say something bad about me!? I swear, he will..."

"No, no. He didn't say anything bad about you.", Lianna said, smiling widely. She grabbed her by the hand and led her out of the training grounds. "In fact, he said some nice things about you."

"What? Really?", Cici blinked for a second, dumbfounded by the fact that he actually said something nice about her despite being so mean to him. Then she shook her head and said, "Whatever..."

Lianna then giggled. "You act just like him, you know?"

Cici threw her arms in the air. "I DO NOT act like him! At least I will give people answers if they ask me!"

She kept going on about how annoying he is. Lianna realized that as she was complaining about him, Harry stood behind her. The blond-haired giggled to herself, but didn't tell her. It would ruin all the fun if she did say anything.

Cici kept going. "...And he's acts like doesn't care about anything and is sooooo tough! I mean, just drop the tough act!", when she finally had enough of Lianna's giggling, she turned to her and said, "Alright, what's so funny?"

"What's funny is that you're saying mean things about me, even though I said nice things about you.", Harry said, sounding not too impressed. Cici turned around and shivers went down her spine as she made eye contact with him. "That, and you asked a question."

Cici grumbled, but didn't say anything more. They walked in a painful silence until they reached the castle where, unfortunately for Cici, Lianna had to go somewhere else in the castle. When they said their goodbyes, it was just the two of them.

When she briefly looked, she saw a slight hint of sadness in his face. She didn't want to, but she actually felt a little sorry for him. Sorry that she might have hurt his feelings. It started to bother her, eating up her insides. "Hey, are you okay? Did what I said..."

"No you did not. It's just-", Harry was cut off by a loud noise that shook the whole palace.

Chapter IV

'You see, the palace is just one problem after another. All this crazy talk about the war and how they're going to fix it! It's all nonsense!', the voice said to Cici, who she couldn't see at the moment. It echoed off the walls of her mind, coming from nowhere in particular. 'This all started because of that stupid Benson Ferrington. But that's a story for another time. Look, you need to leave the palace at once!'

'And why should I?', Cici replied immediately.

'...You'll see. You'll see when it's too late, naturally.', the voice said as it slowly made its departure from her mind.

Chapter Four

Cici snapped out of the daydream when Harry gently touched her back. He turned to her, saying, "We're under attack. I need you to find a safe place to hide for the time being."

She could, but she was afraid of dying or something. "Hey! Wouldn't it be safer if I tagged along with you? I don't mind the blood and stuff-"

"No, you'll just be in the way.", he said, drawing his two swords. He started to run up ahead, leaving her behind. She grumbled and ran after him. When he turned and saw her running after him, he huffed and said, "I'm sure you have no idea how to fight. And even before you start fighting, the vampires will attack and injure you."

"I don't have to fight! You can just protect me!", Cici said, then she realized the other part about the vampires. "Wait...why are those vampires back? Is it because you beat them up last time?"

"I don't know why they're back.", Harry said, stopping at the exit, where through the window at the door, he could see vampires, all waiting for them to open the door. "...And I thought I told you no more questions."

Cici didn't remember for a second, until she had a two second flashback of him telling her from a few hours ago. "Oh...eh, I forgot? But does it matter? I just want to know more of what's going on! I don't want to be the only one left out of everything."

Harry turned the other way and started running to the other end of the palace. Cici followed him, wanting some answers and not wanting to be left alone. He turned back to her and said, "Are you really going to argue about this now? I'll tell you more about it later, okay?"

They met up with Lianna and Nobu, who had their weapons with them. He pointed one sword at the palace steps, while the two of them nodded. Cici was completely lost, but just went with it. Soon the four of them ran to the palace steps, where not a lot of vampires were.

"Oh! There's not a lot here!", Cici exclaimed.

"That's what they want us to think.", Nobu explained, readying his staff. "Just wait 'till they swarm."

"Swarm? What?", Cici stood there with a lost expression. The others rushed in, leaving Cici behind for a moment. Harry sighed and quickly pulled her outside with them.

-----

Once they got outside, the first thing Cici noticed were two vampires sitting under a large umbrella, watching the other vampires to see what they do. Cici could've sworn she saw them recently. "Hey, where have we seen those people under the umbrella before?", she whispered to Harry.

Harry sighed and said, "Really? Are all humans this forgetful?"

As him and Lianna leaped on ahead, she grumbled and said, "Well, excuse me for not having perfect memory!"

Then she turned to Nobu. She watched as he lifted his staff high in the air, incurring a storm above his head. Then she asked, "So, what can I do to help?"

"Oh, you can just stand there.", he said and caused lightning to storm down on the land in front of him. She closed her eyes until the rumbling of thunder died down. When she looked, the vampires lied on the ground, parts of them burning. "Well, that was easy."

As Harry and Lianna approached the umbrella, the two under there disappeared. They searched around the area, but didn't see them. But Cici certainly saw them.

He laughed. "Maybe you two need to work on your tracking skills. There are many Galaxians who teleport.", he then turned his attention to Cici. "Now then..."

"This should only sting a bit.", Katarina said with a sinister smile. They both pointed a finger at Cici, but she could see the energy being charged at the tip of their fingers.

Just before the attack, Markus froze for a moment. He looked down to see three swords stabbed in his stomach. After a few moments of looking down, he started to laugh. Katarina laughed along with him. Purplish red blood trickled down the blades, but he wasn't phased in the slightest.

"Ferrington siblings...do you really think that you would be hurt me with this?", he asked. Without looking, he fired a shot at Cici. Nobu pushed her out of the way and absorbed the blast with his staff. "And then there's you. Disgrace to our kind."

'Wait, is he referring to Nobu?', Cici thought. Then she nearly got hit by another blast from Katarina. "Hey! Why are you trying to shoot me?!"

"You'll find out when you get hit!", Katarina shouted, then tried to hit her with another shot. Cici jumped to her left, avoiding the attack.

Katarina growled and kept shooting, while Cici continued to dodge. She was about to fire a larger blast when her father casually said, "Katarina, we don't want to severely injure her. We just came to give her a little push, yes?"

She pouted, but then said, "...Yes, daddy."

That's when Cici felt a little sting on her chest. When she looked back to Markus, she saw his finger pointed at her. Now she looked down and saw a hole through her shirt. He smirked and said, "You finally let your guard down."

Katarina laughed and said, "Mortals are easily fooled."

As they both continued to laugh, they faded into thin air. Harry and Lianna tried to attack them one last time, but they vanished faster than they could see.

Nobu looked at Cici's wound, but it wasn't really a wound. It was more of a little twinkle-shaped marking. It looked vaguely familiar, but he couldn't remember what it was. He combed through his dreadlocks, trying to figure out.

Cici raised an eyebrow and asked, "What is it? Is something there?"

"Yeah, some twinkly marking. It looks like some birthmark.", he replied. "It seems really familiar but-" Sudden realization dawned upon his face. He unbuttoned his cloak until he reached to the middle button. When Cici looked, she saw the twinkle-shaped mark he was talking about. "Look! We have the exact same marking! I think he just awoken your powers or something."

"What power-", she stopped when she saw Nobu's eyes widen. Her mark glowed a dark purple. Before she knew it, her whole body had a dark purple aura. "What the hell is this?"

"It's your power silly!", Lianna explained happily. "It's introducing itself to you.", she turned to Nobu and said, "Nobu could be your teacher. He can show you how to use your powers properly."

"Yeah...it's not too hard. Your powers already resemble mine, so it'd be easy to show you!", he explained. "Haha! You can be like my student while I'm your master!"

Cici raised an eyebrow and said, "Yeah, as if I'd be calling you master!"

"Whaaaat?", his eyes widened as if he were a puppy. "No! You must, I insist! You can call me Master Nobu or Master Monique. As long as you call me 'Master'."

"Master Nobu~", Lianna cooed, then she winked at him. He laughed and winked back at her.

Cici threw her arms in the air and said, "Ugh, I'm out of here!", she headed back into the palace, calling out, "I'll take your offer...Master Nobu."

-----

Cici stood in front of the bathroom mirror, completely naked. She took a look at the marking in between her breasts. Her face twisted into a frown. 'Why is it shaped something as childish as this? Ugh...', she thought. Suddenly, she felt a slight pressure on her head. She already knew what was coming though. "Harry...", she said softly, just remembering what happened before the vampires invaded. She shook her head and snapped, "What do you want?!"

'I just came because you wanted to know what was wrong from before, remember?', then he poked fun at her and sarcastically said, 'Oh right, humans are very forgetful.'

"Hey! How am I supposed to remember something I don't even understand?", she argued.

'What's there to understand? Vampires are just mindless beings that feed on blood.' Cici didn't really agree with that statement. The ones commanding the vampires were much too smart to be just 'mindless beings'.

The redhead furrowed her brows and said, "Mindless beings? You're being too arrogant."

'No, you're just overanalyzing the situation at hand, even though you have no understanding of it.', he said stubbornly.

"That's the point! I don't understand all of this shit!", Cici shouted. Then she started to wonder something. "Or...is this all on purpose? You're purposely keeping this from me?"

'Humans aren't as dumb as I thought.', he mocked, which got on Cici's nerves quite a bit. 'But yes, I'm keeping some things from you. Knowledge is a dangerous thing. Once you know too much, people will go to you as a reliable, easier source. And they won't just ask you nicely for the information.'

Cici stepped into the shower, soaking her body with lukewarm water. She then said, "All this crap...with so much emphasis on this, it must've happened to you."

'...It did.', he said. The redhead heard a snap of fingers in her head. Suddenly, she saw a blurry projection of two kids in front of her. When she looked, she realized it was Lianna and Harry when they were younger. 'One day, I found my dad's battle plans for the next attack, along with some information on the Council. I shared it with Lianna as well and with our telepathy, we remembered everything.'

"You can do that?", she asked, her eyes widening.

'Yes, we both can.', he said. Then the projection changed into one from a meeting. The Council was there, along with some vampires...and Markus? Lianna and Harry stood at the back of the room.

"Woah, woah, woah. BACK UP.", Cici said the second she saw Markus. He looked the exact same as he did now. And that was, like, thousands of years ago? "How the hell does he look exactly the same as now?"

'Oh, you mean Markus? He's semi-immortal. He doesn't age at all.', he explained. Then he continued, 'Anyways, while the meeting went on, both sides started arguing. One of the vampires that is now not here made a point and we countered it with something that was on the battle plans. And that's when they found out that we know about everything.'

"But why would I do something as stupid as that?", she asked and she could hear him sigh.

'Oh, I am sure you will.', he said, and she grumbled while taking up a random bottle of shampoo. She didn't know what it would do to her hair, but it didn't look too different from regular shampoo.

The projection changed into one where people ran after those two. Cici laughed and thought that he deserved it for being such an annoying person. He cleared his throat abruptly and said, 'The vampires started to target us. While we were most vulnerable, they'd sneak in and attack. It got so bad that we had to run away from home for a while.'

"Seriously?", Cici said, sounding surprised. "So where did you go after you ran away?"

'Lived in the Ophelia Forest.', he replied. 'The vampires didn't like that area because it was too bright.'

"Ophelia Forest...it sounds dark, but you just said it was bright.", Cici remarked.

'One day, I'll take you there. You might like it.', he said. For once, she found that to be one of the more friendlier gestures from him. He then said, 'That's funny, for once, a friendlier gesture from me? I've done a lot for you, you know. I could've have just kicked you out of the palace.' The redhead stuck her tongue out and said something along the lines of 'screw you'.

The projection turned into a bloody one where mass amounts of soldiers and civilians were killed. Cici felt as though she'd seen that before, but she knew she couldn't have. That was way before she was born. Either way, it did spook her with the genocide and all. 'When Lianna and I came back, twenty percent of the population was gone. While we were hiding from the scout team, both sides went into war. The Galaxians were losing by a lot because they would attack at night.'

"Man, for a bunch of people with superpowers, you guys suck at security.", she remarked, somewhat giggling in the process.

'For a bunch of powerless humans with law and order, you guys seem to get into more wars than us.', he mocked her and once again, annoyed her in the process. 'Unlike humans who can stay up all night, we have to sleep.', she got out of the shower, with a confused look on her face. 'Nevermind. Anyways, this is what could happen if you know too much. And now that you're part of the palace, it's more than likely.'

"But why would I do stupid stuff like that?", she asked.

'Cici, you think you won't do something stupid, but you will.', he said. 'Everyone does, including me.'

"Argh!", she shouted, not only because of what he said. Also, it was because of her hair that somehow grew from her shoulders to her ankles. She grumbled and shouted, "Okay, okay, I'm sorry!"

'Hm. It's fine.', he said. '...You're not a bad person, just a little hasty.'

Before she could say anything else, the pressure from his telepathy disappeared. Cici huffed and mumbled about what he said. Then she realized that maybe she should've asked for some scissors. Maybe she'd go ask Lianna or Maemi for some...if she could find their rooms.
