First Day

"It's a three story school. The first floor consists of restrooms and lockers while the second and third floors consist of classrooms and up to three restrooms." My chauffeur explained in his usual French accent. "The gym is across from the regular classrooms. Between the two, is something like a cafeteria. In the center is a water fountain with a few tables a couple of feet away."

"And how is the quality of the school, Mr. Vasseur?" I asked in my usual Northern America accent.

"It's in perfect conditions, my lady." Mr. Vasseur replied.

"That's good." I leaned against the red, soft car seats. Some of my straight white hair fell over my shoulders.

"Where would you like me to drop you off, Ms. Cartier?" Mr. Vasseur asked.

"Let me see my schedule." I ordered.

Mr. Vasseur handed me the schedule. I studied it before saying, "Vasseur, I have made my choice. Drop me off by the cafeteria."

"Wise choice."

Vasseur carefully parked the black Honda Elysion. He quickly rushed over and opened my door.

"Thank you Vasseur. Next time, though, let me open my own door please. I want to be able fit in with everyone else at Greenwood High." I informed as I stepped out the car.

"As you wish." Vasseur closed the door and I headed to the gates of the school.

Every class was the same. Introduce myself, learn something based on the class, then pack up and move to the next class. By the time fourth period came around, I already knew the drill. I waited for the class to settle down before making my way from the door to the front. I sighed and looked around the group of students.

Before I could begin my introduction, the teacher stood and spoke. "Class, this is Margaret Cartier. She is new to Greenwood High School so I would like for you to get her used to the class. But before we do that, does anyone have any questions for her?"

Wow, that's new, I thought as a few students raised their hands.

"You, with the green beanie." I said.

"Why are you dressed so nicely?" The girl asked. Everyone else brought their hands down.

I stared down at my creme dressed and white dress shoes. "Well, I uh-" I hesitated. "I wanted to make a good impression." I said quickly.

"Trying to make good impressions won't help you survive this class." The girl said.

"Don't you dare tell me what will and will not help me survive." I growled as my vision reddened.

"O-ok." The girl hid herself.

I quickly covered my eyes. My hands burned a bit but I managed the heat out. "Sorry if I scared you." I muttered.

"Scared? No, you frightened me." The blonde whispered.

"Sorry anyway." I muttered.

"You two can finish this later. Right now, we need to start the welcome party." The teacher said as she stood up.
